THE OLD ONES - CHOTEC, LORD OF THE SUN

Chotec, one of the Old Ones from the prehistory of Warhammer. They are never really described in the lore; the most we get is that their physiology is most agreeable with humid, wet, hot climates. I decided to go with an Axolotl as the base creature for the Old Ones, but there's some other ancient beastie in there if you squint. Axolotls are not only a nice middling ground between the frog inspired Slann and the lizard inspired Saurus, they actually have significant cultural ties to aztec culture, which the Lizardmrn aesthetic was based around. The God of Fire and Lighting, Xolotl, is where the animal gets it's name. And seeing as Chotex is the God of the Sun and the most important of the classic Old Ones, I decided to make him the species basis.

Chotec is not a god in truth, but a very powerful alien suffused with the energy of Aqshy and Hysh - Fire and Light respectively. I imagine he was the mind behind moving the planet closer to the sun. His blessed are marked with fiery orange scales.

But seeing them all enjoying a game of cards while he was standing there was about all Cannonshot could suffer before he swung his cutlass into the table, upsetting all the precarious towers of token the group had made.

“By the seas, what are a bunch of sea-slugs like-like you doing?” His voice was hissing from his clenched teeth and his eyes burned with a fire that made their red glow even more intense. He stared at them all with an equal amount of fury. He was furious like he had never been before.

Only Sawbones looked up at the Captain while the others grabbed their spilled coins. Sawbones on the other hand carefully ran a finger across the blade of his beloved cleavers. It was more of a nervous tick than a threat. “You returned...that would make you-you the fifth.”
