I feel incredibly alone right now. Maybe isolated is a better word. Aside from a few Tumblr friends that are from Turkey and a handful of other heavily interacted mutuals, there isn’t even a tiny acknowledgment of the recent horrors we are facing in Turkey and Syria among the blogs I am following (speaking from my own experience) There is no indication that they have even heard of the earthquake. More than ever, me and the said mutuals are aware of an invisible wall between us (the people of the disaster zone) and those who live in safe and cushiony houses in the distant West. Curiously, help has arrived from many countries (US, Germany, even Israel) and even featured on many foreign news channels but it appears no one has heard? Idk I don’t want to chastise, judge or blame people who don’t post about the earthquake, it’s just that logging in and seeing people post about fandoms feels like something from a distant past. Like I am looking through a glass wall, or peering into a parallel universe. I just hope we can go back to how we used to be, able to enjoy things we once did.
