This is not my usual style of writing, but I wanted to yap about the historical origins of Bellās uniform in the last part of Nowhere Left To Run/character model. Does it say anything about the character? No. Except for the shit choice of pants.
If you spot anything inaccurate or know something more, donāt be afraid to let me know. I want to know more.
I am also going to treat this one model as the source for the post.
Is this even good? Because my writing is less than decent so if it doesnāt make any sense, sorry in advance.
The mask. Nothing to say about here. Itās supposed to be a faceless character where every interpretation is up to the player. At least the designers didnāt choose a mask with mouth hole (those are hideous).
Same with the leather gloves. Nothing to add here either.
As for the rig, itās specifically the chicom type 56 chest rig with a bag added on the right side.
While originating from China, the chest rig was a popular choice throughout many countries, including Soviet by the 1980s. Chicoms were often modified by users of the rig, so the added bag isnāt out of the ordinary.
The jacket is most likely an Anorak Smock or any of the likes. The closes resemblance to Bellās is by Davpack or Blacks of Greenock anorak. Those are quite weather resistant and both were intended for the British military in the 60s/70s.
Tho the colours donāt fully match with Bellās in game model, this is the closest Iāve found.
And hereās the nonsensical part of these clothes.
They donāt appear to be for combat, so itās more up for interpretation when it comes to the reason. There is also a chance Iāll do similar yapping in the future.
Many of the other members of Perseus and the rest of the Safe house crew had pants for combat. No idea here.
In general, the pants look like your average menās wide pants with a checkered or plaid pattern.
As for the shoes, I havenāt managed to find any identical in real life but Iām assuming them to either be a differently coloured version of some old combat shoes/boots.
After some more research: suspiciously looking like parade shoes. In a lighter brown.
In conclusion: Bell has a shit taste in all clothing that isnāt tactical.
Did I spend an idiotic amount of time for this? Yes. Did I sift through character models and concept models? Yes. Was it worth it? I donāt know. Will I do it again? If anyone wants me to. Have I proofread this post? Also no.
(Iāve had this in the drafts before Pix / ShadeOps1 made his post. I am not trying to copy anyone)
