âBELIZE & braxton,
It was like he had taken up his repose next to a siren on that benchââ her siren song the honeyed words of sunsets and gratitude, beautiful as she. Braxton was lured, like a sailor on her hook, head spinning from the musing just as much as his run. But where sirens promised pain, he had a feeling, residing in his bones, that this girl meant no harm; she probably never had, never would, âWow,â He half-murmured, half-mouthed when she confessed that it wasnât even written yet, but off the top of her head, âYou know, i
The girl, all porcelain and umber, was looking at him strangely for a moment in a way that made Braxton feel something he wasnât used to; exposed, rawââ until she confessed why, â⌠Who, me?â He looked around and behind him in jest, playing dumb, secretly fragmenting under the compliment of his eyes, now the colour of cognac under the setting sun, âI think youâve got the wrong guy,â But he swelled, then settled, earnest as he inspected her own chocolate orbs, âââSo do you.â Hips shifted, his breath was caught, and the arm closest to her, his left, shifted atop the back of the bench in a lazy hang as he turned to face her, properly, âI think âquittingâ is a better way of putting it,â Brax laughed softly, licking his lips, âBut Iâd much rather listen to you. Will you tell me more?â
Alabaster skin brightened to a warm pinkish color as the strangerâs words of esteem tickled her ears, his own evoking a sense of comfort that felt like a day-glo array of orange and yellow waves washing blissfully over the femineâs mind and body. Her brows furrowed as she listened to his remarks of admiration, her eyes lingering over his for a long moment as she took his presence in. There was something Belize couldnât quite capture as she watched his lips pull into a lazy smile that she couldnât help but smile in response to. His eyes were the color of a fine-aged whiskey in the golden light of the sunset, now deep orange as time sauntered forward around the two bodies sitting on the park bench. âI donât know about that.â She replied with a soft voice, shifting her eyes briefly toward the sky as she took in a deep breath, exhaling the clouded memories of her past that tugged on her focus as she resettled her gaze upon the stranger who somehow didnât feel like a one. His words rang in her head, their penetrating sincerity,in comradery with that smile, causing her heart to swelter. She wasnât sure why this persons words seemed to confirm for her something she couldnât seem to find herself-- which was, just maybe, Bel was capable of creating something positive.
His jovial charade was met with a cheerful laugh as she watched his features, his smile as enchanting as his words were benevolent, and almost as charming as his golden brown eyes were looking back into her own. She felt her breath catch as he leaned closer, his position shifting so the two were now face to face; his arm grazing the cardigan draped over her shoulders as it settled on the wooden support behind them- she could just feel the heat from his arm, his body, as she mimicked his movements and shifted her own orientation toward this stranger- his retort luring the subtle pink color back to her cheeks. âThanks...â His lips were full as his tongue traced their soft curves, Belâs eyes couldnât help but follow along, biting her own lip in an unfocused hesitation of his request. âI donât typically share my thoughts like this.â She explained vaguely, her mind inherently closed to sharing any part of herself with another, especially someone she didnât know. Though, her heart pulsed at the manâs words and the raw sincerity they were laced in. In a way, she considered, maybe that was better. âI was thinking about how connected the universe is.â She began delicately,â the atoms that make up your lips⌠your eyesâŚcame from the same source as the atoms that make up my lips, my fingersâŚâ she toyed with the ruby ring on her right ring finger as she continued. â⌠which were created from the same source as the atoms that make up that willow tree over there,â she pointed. âand itâs leaves, the veins in the leaves, even the dirtâŚâ her eyes lifted to meet the strangerâs golden gaze again. âWe are all part of this whole⌠the whole. Truly we are just as small and insignificant as each atom that makes up our existence, as much as we are also significant and momentous like them. Every breath we take in, we inhale that collective and exhale our contribution to the universe which created us. Weâre all connected. Everything is. Even though it doesnât always feel that way. Even if it hardly ever feels that way.âÂ
Her amber hues were fixed on his golden ones, her lips offering a vulnerable smile before she waggled her brows in a shy quip to shift focus to lighter content, out of her comfort zone in sharing her thoughts so candidly, she concluded with a ginger âI donât know.âÂ
sethzaher¡:
Seth gave her a small smile back, his eyes glancing down at his hands as he placed them in his lap. âYeah, I like it. When I was in college, I took a poetry course. We studied a few poems by Robert Frost, and they were good. Do you like poetry?â
âAs much as any intellect.â she shrugged, smiling a bit as she replied. âIâve never seen myself as being skillfully articulate enough to write any, but I remember studying his work as well. He had provocative perspectives and the most alluring way of painting his words into the most vivid literary imagery. Iâm sure I would have appreciated the beauty of it more if I wasnât forced to read them for grading.â
warrenkenna¡:
âBeautiful..â Kenna repeated, smiling over at the brunette. âMaybe you should write it down, in case you forget about it later.âÂ
âMaybe I will..â Validation was not something Belize craved often, but witnessing the words from her lips leave a lasting impression on another created a warm sense of accomplishment which radiated outward from her core to the corner of her lips as a smile etched itself across her rosy lips. âYou really liked it that much?â
braxton-andrewsâ:
âBELIZEÂ & braxton,
He came, he ran, and he did not conquer.Â
The ten mile serpentine route he had put both mind, body, and spirit to running was more of a five mile jog, two mile walk, and a halt at a seventh mile bench when the sun, sunk in the celestial throne of the sky, was making itâs descent until the morrow. Brax sat, caught his breath, internally berating himself for not finishing what he sought out to do when a soft voice, words as mellifluous as they sounded, breezed through the air beside him. Elbows on his knees and head hung between shoulders, he looked up, finding brunette hair and big brown eyes, when a soft half smile coveted his full lips, â⌠Did you write that?â He asked, squinting to get a better look at her in the glare of setting sun.
The soft breeze brushed over the brunetteâs porcelain skin as she turned her head toward the presence beside her, noticing the dark haired man must have been running with great intent as his voice was soft and nearly breathless. Her mind wondered if he had felt as connected with the universe while running as she did while watching the sunset that evening. She smiled softly and nodded at his interest, âI havenât written it anywhere, but they are my thoughts.â Amber brown eyes watched as the strangerâs were illuminated by the golden skies, âyou have nice eyes,â noting his cocoa brown ones, the brunette was happy to shift focus toward her own curiosities. âWere you running?âÂ

verospence¡:
Veronica laughed at her friendâs compliments and despite the blondeâs usual practice to brush off any and all words of encouragement, she instead chose to simply nod her head. âNot sure how smart I am given my judgement of the dude I just spent the better part of my evening with, but Iâll take it,â she took another drag. âWhatever. The dude was a jackass, hopefully the next one is better.â Ronnie doubted they would be, but wasnât that the point of dating? âLife was so much easier when you could just hit on someone at a bar or at a party and call it a night.â
Bel giggled at the blondeâs expressive words, looking at her with a soft admiration as she appreciated being back in the presence of someone as bold and strong as Veronica. âI missed you.â she sighed happily before pondering her friendâs frustrations. âWe all want something intimate. Sometimes enough to look over the obvious faults in others, hoping theyâll somehow not disappoint you.â she continued, âIt truly is a hopeless feat. At least with the apps you know the guy is cute and itâs not just drunk glasses.â she toyed, glancing to the blonde. âBetter a handsome asshole than an ugly one.âÂ
oliverwcst¡:
âI mean thereâs a shit ton of spices in there too, but I can see where youâre coming from. Itâs not a drink for everyone. Advanced palettes or whatever.â He was joking mostly, turning to give the woman his full attention. He didnât recognize her face, but it wasnât an unusual occurrence for him. âThe woman who took care of me used to make it home made with cloves and cinnamon and some other stuff, after I mentioned one year I hadnât ever had it before. And ever since iâve been pretty much sold on it.â It probably also had to do with Marianaâs impact on his life overall, but it was beside the point. Ollie had an appreciation for almost all christmas drinksâliquified tree lattes aside. âMaybe you just havenât had the right one.â Which brought up another point, so he flipped the question back to her. âSo do you hate most seasonal drinks or can you fuck with like, spiced ciders and the likes?â
âOh, a shit ton of spices. In that case...â She teased. His memory was endearing, a motherly figure taking it upon herself to please her little blonde boy after a casual comment-- it reminded the girl of her own history, her parents and the special memories they had together similar to the one she had just heard. Despite her feelings about the drink, she nodded thoughtfully. âOpposing perspective accepted and greatly appreciated. Iâd probably hate it a little less if I had a warm memory like that attached to it. Iâm sure the cloves and cinnamon were significant.â  Belize pursed her lips as her taste was now the one being questioned, chuckling at his diction choice. âI can definitely fuck with a good cider and, donât write me off when I say this, but a pumpkin spice latte can fuck me up on a crisp fall day. But yeah, all those other seasonal drinks can suck my dick.â Â
sethzaher¡:
With his eyes on the sunset, he listened to the other ramble on about what they thought about sunsets. Thinking about her words, he turned his head toward her and tilted his head slightly. âVery poetic.â
Belize looked to man beside her, a small smile playing over her lips. âThank you.â She had never considered her words poetry, so that was quite a compliment and it made the brunette feel good about her work so far. âDo you like poetry?â
warrenkenna¡:
âThat was beautifulâŚâ Kenna murmured under her breath, eyes watching over the sun slowly set, âDid you just come up with it?âÂ
âThanks.â Bel nodded, the compliment touching her more deeply than her face maintained. âKind of, yeah.âÂ
nathangarrettx¡:
âDid you get that out of your latest fortune cookie or did you come up with that off the top of your head just now? Because in that case it was pretty impressive,â Nathan teased the stranger sitting on the other side of the bench. Granted, he enjoyed poetry - hell, sometimes he even indulged in reading a book or two but to be fair, he wasnât quite sure what to make of the young womanâs words, wondering whether it was a piece of her mind or just a quote sheâd read somewhere.
âIf youâre getting fortunes like that from your Chinese carryout, tell me where youâve been going.â Belize chuckled, rolling her eyes before settling her gaze on the person sitting beside her. She wondered if he wanted an actual answer or not. If she were being honest, some of her words likely did come from her meditation studies, but they were hers. She shrugged. âTheyâre mostly mine. Though Iâll give some credit to my spiritual counselor since she taught me most of what I know. Iâm sure sheâd be insulted you compared them to a fortune cookie.â

killianarnaudâ:
Killian watched the sunset with calm eyes as the woman spoke, appreciating her diction even if he wasnât inclined to outwardly show it. As she paused, he shifted his gaze to her and asked blandly, âDid you practice that beforehand?â¡
âI probably have, to some degree, unconsciously.â she retorted with a soft grin, her mind clear as her head turned toward the man beside her. âIf it sounds sophisticated enough for you to think I rehearsed before, then I must be doing something right.â She noted proudly, â... was that a french accent I noticed?â
annapetrovâ:
âA cleanse? Oh god, how can you even do that?â There was no way in the world that Anna could, she loved her food and drink too much, her drink especially these days. Cleanse wasnât even a part of her vocabulary. âEnjoy your rose waterâŚâ Her words werenât particularly sincere, in fact, she was sure her distaste showed on her face. âYou must have a hell of a lot more will power than I do.â
âWill power. Lots of it.â She added with a soft chuckle, her old friendâs comment reminding her of their similar mindsets-- at least, how similar they used to be. She wasnât sure how much had changed since the two hadnât kept in close contact during her time in France. âYou have no idea.â she quipped back, sipping her rose water with a slight grin as she watched her friend sip her wine. In the back of her mind, though Bel wished she could taste the dry tickle of wine on her tongue-- at the least. Her favorite had always been gin on ice with a leaf of mint. âSo, what have you been up to this last decade?â
