be like a tree

Its been a while……since I woke up early to listen to the sound of my boyfriend sleeping -his deep breaths inspiring me to glide slowly into an early morning yoga practice. I laid out my mat and in the soft haze of the sun began my flow. Feeling my sleepy muscles move hugging closer and closer to my bones I felt my insides start to embrace my frame. I thought about how each position felt in comparison to 10 years ago when I lived in a younger frame – I thought – I love my body.

  Its been a while since I thought about what motivated me to look at life from a deeper perspective. 10 years ago I began my mindful pursuits – motivated by a deep desire to connect with my father and continuously inspired by my mothers selflessness. I learned the lesson of solo seekers and those who learn through community. Now journeying through my yoga sequence I realize how I too had become a solo seeker.  –I Felt – Gratitude for my family

  Its been a while since I meditated in a group – just starting to teach my partner of the benefits I was reminded how nice it is to transcend in groups – breathing in unison, escaping (even just for a moment) the human form. Its so beautiful to see someone just beginning – I remembered - were always just beginning J

  After my yoga practice I thought about one of my soul sisters Sarah and picked up my tarot cards – consulted the visual oracles about current life issues – drew a beaver and a bunny and listened to Native American perspectives on creatures for direction.  It’s been a while since I spoke to my best friend – years of co-existing seemingly vanished overnight. Accepting that the illusion of loyalty is impermanent and that at time souls split.  -I found - peace in the unknown

  I went to the grocery store picked up some veggies and peppers made homemade hummus and gently woke my partner. Its been a while since I made food.  In the moment of missing I remembered I had filled my life with new souls – some from as far as Asia and others who are now my next door neighbor. – I was grateful – For new beginnings  

  Its been a while since I breathed peace into a new home. I have nothing in common musically with my partner other than The Album Leaf….. -I imagined - this is what a peaceful heart listens too

  Its been a while since my hearts been open to forgiveness – To acceptance –We must create space to have space to create.  Practice non-judgment, where there is injury, forgive. Where there is turmoil, peace. Where there is cruelty, kindness. You take nothing with you when you go – Other than what you do to enrich your soul.
