Easter Sunday. This morning was nice waking up in my friends bed who was kind enough to let me stay the night since I had no way of getting home and she had seemed to enjoy my drunk company although I was a mess and as the day continued I ended up making my way to my grandma’s with my mom and my brother. The door was unlocked so I made my way through her home, things everywhere you can barely make a step without stepping on something. I just wanted to take pictures of it all. Of the mess, of what you could consider hoarding or you could consider depression, maybe something else depending on the type of person you are and which I am not. My mom on the other hand I guess you could say she is “disgusting” is what she called it wanting to leave her own mother behind and forget about dinner. These are the moments where I see how the mothers and daughters in my family treat each other. I went upstairs to find my grandma in tears I didn’t know how to handle her in my arms crying about the depression she has been trying so hard to overcome but I tried to do and say what I could without running away from the situation as I sometimes do. My mom came upstairs shortly after, I tried to take a picture of the living room thinking about writing about it as I am now. This is where my mom came downstairs and honestly tried to make a run for it “jade lets go” but all I did was stare at her until my grandma came downstairs just in time to see what was going on. I think maybe she knew, she knew her daughter couldn’t understand but she thanked me because I told her I did. I do understand, I worry about her and what might happen.
