B.A.D.

B.A.D. is a slice-of-life style comic with a little drama and comedy(?) thrown in. Follows the lives of Mitch, Sarah, and Mike, three high school students who get stuck working on a group project for Speech together and from there becoming friends. (or something like that)

It's one of those coming-of-age stories where the characters learn and grow together, develop relationships, make iffy decisions, fight with their parents, and try to figure out their future.

Here’s the comic featuring Duncan and Todd I mentioned. Went ahead and put all 6 pages in one post.

So uh, for some context, Todd will do any dare he’s given, so these “friends” of his record it for the internet. This would probably be pre-tiktok so probably for YouTube or something. If I could draw a proper punch that would’ve been what Duncan would’ve done instead. Don’t worry tho, Todd learns his lesson to not involve outsiders in his dares pretty quick. They become good friends eventually.

I finally posted an update! It only took a year and two months.

I think I procrastinated so much because I just wasn't happy with this page. It's eh. I honestly wanna get through this chapter and onto the next one already. Or maybe I just want this scene to end.

I guess sometimes you just gotta post the ugly pages and move on otherwise you'll be stuck regretting for ages. Haha, like I did.

Ah I think this is the one drawn entirely in procreate. That background. Yeesh. Too much detail. It's distracting. I guess I overcompensate sometimes cuz I like when I don't get to draw backgrounds and so that when I do actually draw them I try and give as much information as possible for the viewer so they can tell where they are in space.

It's supposed to be like the check-in desk or something for the librarian. Doesn't even look like it belongs in a library tho.

I did kind of base it off of the one from my school but I actually never checked out a book at the school's library in the 4 years I was there. Haha. Just went there for the internet so my memory's a little lost. Oh well. Enough of this.

And thus begins my first digital page. I can't remember if I used the pencil sketch and traced over it digitally or if I drew this one entirely in procreate. This is supposed to make things easier and faster but I'm slow either way. Also I don't really like how the colors came out. It needs more contrast I think?
