Wally x Kuki

AU fic of Wally and Kuki, set in their teen years.

Fed up with Wally's abrasive approach to their friendship, Kuki decides to explore other options. Will it make sense for her to look anywhere else? Is there such a thing as a perfect guy for her? Or has the boy who always stood opposite her been the right guy all along?

Wally finds Kuki cute when she's mad because she gets all pouty, and this carries over to the children that they eventually have.

During each kid's toddler stage, an episode like this occurs frequently:

I once told myself that I was never going to allow my headcanons go this far into Sector V's adulthood, but oh well. Here we are.

Wally and Kuki eventually have three kids, each about 2 to 3 years apart.

Kid #1 is a girl, and her name is Kina. She looks just like her mother (black hair) except for her eye color (green), which she got from her father. She's a total sweetheart like her mother, and very brave like her father. Her father absolutely melts around her. She's the best big sister ever.

Kid #2 is a girl, and I don't have a name for her yet. Looks-wise, she's more of a combination of her parents (brown hair, a mixture of blonde and black hair), though she definitely got her eye color from her mom (lilac). She's quite the tomboy and very tough like her dad, though she also enjoys girly activities with her mom and big sister.

Kid #3 is a boy, and I don't have a name for him yet. He's a spitting image of his dad (blonde hair, green eyes). He's a sweet kid, but he's absolutely feral. He's very silly and rowdy, but as soon as he's near his mom, he turns into a sweet little marshmallow of a boy. His dad finds him hilarious and likes to carry him around like a football or lift him up by the back of his hoodie. He's very close with his big sisters, and he doesn't care whether they're playing sports together or having a tea party together.

All three kids love sports, like their dad, so Sundays are often spent playing soccer with their dad.

He just did a hop, a shimmy, and struck a pose to a Rainbow Monkey pop song, and his niece is very pleased with his performance.

Because the only person in town tougher than he is...

Continuing with the focus on the theme songs that I mentioned in this post, let's talk about why I chose this song for Hoagie and Abby.

Let's start with this: have you ever seen this live performance by Mac Miller and Ariana Grande? My god. The vibes, the playfulness, THE CHEMISTRY. The way he looks at her like she's the most beautiful thing in the world, the way she can't help but smile and laugh when she looks at him.

And that, my friends, is why I chose this song for Hoagie and Abby because this is exactly how I picture them with each other. He's a playful guy, she's a cool girl. They make each other laugh, and smile, and blush. They're so completely lost and in awe of each other that it feels like they have their own little corner to vibe with each other.

Nigel and Lizzie have the same eyesight/prescription, the only difference being that Lizzie obviously prefers her round glasses and Nigel obviously prefers his transition lenses (aka his sunglasses).

In other words, it's common for them to trade or borrow each other's glasses whenever they need or want to.

What better way to begin a series than by focusing on theme songs, and like I mentioned in this post, this song is my chosen theme song for Nigel and Lizzie. See, here's the thing about the Nigel and Lizzie in my head... They break up often. So often that it's one of the common jokes in Sector V. And they break up for all sorts of reasons. They break up because they get caught up in their own lives. They break up because Nigel can be a crappy, neglectful boyfriend sometimes. They break up because Lizzie can be overbearing. They break up because they drive each other crazy. They break up over stupid little things.

But, at the end of the day, these two are very much in love and are willing to do anything to be together. So what they do? They ground themselves. They remind themselves that in the grand scheme of things, they value each other as the most important thing in their lives, and they could lose each other at any moment.

Just like Wally and Kuki, a relationship should have natural chemistry and lots of joy.

Just like Hoagie and Abby, a relationship should be grounded on friendship and mutual respect.

Hoagie: (picks up phone) Hello?

Wally: WHERE THE [BLEEP] HAVE YOU BEEN THE LAST TWO DAYS YOU [BLEEP]ING LOSER, YOU CAN'T PICK UP A [BLEEP]ING PHONE AND CALL???

Hoagie: (starts to laugh) I miss you too.

Wally: (pause) [BLEEP] OFF!!!!!!!! (hangs up)
