ik i posted this yesterday but im still going to be on @bullshitmath
ive been meaning to draw a pic like that for a while now :3c (click pls)
We, as non-transfeminine lgbt people, have really really fucking failed trans women in acknowledging the weight of their oppression. We never should have let the word âTERFâ get watered down this far. We never should have exposed trans women to transmisogyny for the sake of trying to seem progressive or woke.
Trans women deserve better. Stop making their existence about âpissing off TERFs.â The existence of trans women themselves should be enough for them to deserve to be loved and cared about in our community.
The fact that it took their oppressors making asses of themselves for us to give a shit shows some selfish and apathetic intentions.
Just some food for thought cuz Iâve seen a lot of non-transfems like, reblogging a trans womans selfies with ârb this to piss off a TERF.â You should be reblogging it because you think trans women are beings worthy of love and recognition, not to get some dumbass internet clout.
Protect trans women, love trans women, keep trans women safe. Donât let yourself become one of the people exposing them to transmisogyny that they donât need to see.
We need to do better. Trans women deserve better.
This is coming from someone who doesnât experience transmisogyny. Transfems please feel free to correct or add on.
Gonna be on @bullshitmath for today, hyperfocusing on rottmnt

hot take: you actually can change your biological sex
the categories we know as biological sex are an amalgamation of many different dimorphic characteristics: chromosomes, genitals, reproductive systems, breasts or lack thereof, body fat distribution, height, musculature, body hair, bone structure. these are the medical and hormonal elements of biological sex. but sex is simultaneously a construct in that its recognition is based on observation of these characteristics. we invented sex as a shorthand for describing a personâs dimorphism based on correlation between all of these characteristics. not all of these characteristics are always congruous, however. for example, the assigned sex of a person with a chromosomal anomaly is historically based on the observable elements, or secondary sex characteristics, of that person. there are people with XX chromosomes who are assigned male because of their typical male appearance, regardless of chromosomes. similarly there are XY individuals who are sexed as female. this is because their secondary sex characteristics result from the dominant hormone in their bodies; testosterone, or estrogen and progesterone. additionally, many intersex people cannot produce gametes, but they are still assigned a sex. in short, the observation of sex is based way more on hormones than on genes, and in practice, the social assigning of the binary has little to do with reproduction.
hormone replacement therapy in trans people provides a near complete overhaul of secondary sex characteristics, resulting in changes in body shape, musculature, hair growth patterns, voice deepening in trans men, breast growth in trans women, and genital changes. as discussed above, biological sex is first and foremost an observation of a whole host of characteristics. if a trans man goes on testosterone, and his voice deepens, his body fat redistributes, he grows facial hair, and testosterone is the dominant hormone in his body, is he really biologically female? i argue that he is not, because the female sex is observed as the characteristics of the estrogen-dominated body. genetically female? maybe. but as far as the inner hormonal workings and the external phenotypes resulting from T go, functionally he is biologically male.
no, you canât change your chromosomes, which really is a moot point that transphobes repeat ad nauseum, because literally every trans person knows that. but as far as sex goes as a societal binary, chromosomes are irrelevant. whoâs karyotyping you when they meet you? nobody, and even in medicine itâs very rare for a person to have their chromosomes tested. iâm willing to bet that you, the reader, have never been karyotyped, and neither have i. sex is both medical and societal, and because its display is based on hormones, itâs way more malleable than people think.
tldr: sex is a combination of characteristics, hormonal effects and phenotypes are much more important to the observation of sex, and a trans person on HRT is functionally the other binary sex. transphobes, dare i sayâŚâŚ..pick up a biology textbook?
chaotic energy.
Shut ur up, people can wear whatever they want to pride, also ur misgendering a random guy because how dare he be proud of his body huh?
This is absolutely something that was and is done by older lgbtq+ people and flamboyant people during protests and marches to normalize the fact that men can have breasts, that men can look like anything and still be men.
It reminds me of how trumeds like to claim that the community founders would have hated people like me, but trumeds are the ones who would have hated the community founders. The people who started the protests, the people who were âtooâ flamboyant, too loud, too non-conforming, the people who put themselves in the line of fire for harassment and hate, etc.
Itâs almost like pride was originally supposed to be a protest and was never about licking the boots of cishet people

Spooky Musicals For The Kiddos
Some have warnings because no one deserves a trauma spook during Hallow-Month
Repo: This isâŚ..oh man. You know how sometimes you find something and youâre like this is terrible, I love it??? Thatâs Repo. VERY GORY WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK. Itâs like a Italian opera but itâs gory as all hell and also thereâs organ theft uh oh
The Devilâs Carnival: Imagine The Greatest Showman but theyâre all in hell and Satan really likes fairytales. Thatâs this musical. Lots of bussy bops in this one Iâm not gonna lie. The same people that made Repo made this one what do you expect. Listen to the sequel as well that ones really good too
Phantom Of The Paradise: Retelling of The Phantom Of The Opera, but this version is set in the 70s and the phantom really likes black lipstick. Rock and roll and also murder yeehaw
35 MM: A musical thatâs literally based off of a bunch of different photos. Has a psychopathic high school bussy bop, a song about fucking vampires, Lindsay Mendez, itâs really just the whole package. WARNING: MENTIONS RAPE AND DOMESTIC ABUSE IN LEAVE LUANNE
Otherbody: This is literally my favourite musical of all time. Itâs a retelling of The Outsider by HP Lovecraft but itâs a metaphor about racism and homophobia in modern day America which must make that horrible authorâs ghost very unhappy itâs great
Jasper In Deadland: Local boy journeys to the underworld to save crush, doesnât realize that heâs a massive idiot and is chugging idiot juice in the underworld with a bunch of ghosts when his crush is riGHT THERE SHEâS RIGHT THERE DAMMIT JASPER
Ghost Quartet: A really complicated musical about murder, ressurection, forgiveness, and love. Itâs by Dave Malloy (NPATCO1812) and if you are looking to ease in gently into the sp00ky musical genre then I would suggest this one
Lizzie: An all-female rock retelling of The Lizzie Borden murders. Gay and very good. WARNING: MENTIONS CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE THROUGHOUT MUSICAL
Love Never Dies: Itâs a sequel to The Phantom Of The Opera musical but you donât have to like the first one in order to enjoy the second. Set ten years after its predecessor, this musical talks about love, murder, and what to do when you really are the baby daddy. Side note: Domestic abuse is subtly referenced in many parts of the musical but not all of it
The Addams Family: How could I make a scary musical list without mentioning The Addams Family? Itâs not spooky, but we love it none the less
Into The Woods: Fairytales but dark as hell. First act is super happy but by the second you are literally sobbing your eyes out. Youâll never get Your Fault out of your head sorry. It mentions rape in some scenes but doesnât go really full head on into it
Rocky Horror Picture Show: If you love musicals but havenât seen this movie or heard its songs then I feel very bad for you. Sexy, gender explorative, and boptacular this musical is a gift to humanity. But whatever you do DONâT watch the live version from two years ago because it will take ten years off of your life itâs that bad
Carrie: A good musical about why bullying is bad. Has Christy Altmore and Derek Klena in it and they sing a love song itâs super cute. WARNING: HAS BULLYING AND CHILD ABUSE IN IT
Hadestown: A retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice but it takes place during the Great Depression and is big ass commentary about capitalism. I didnât think that I could be any gayer for Amber Gray but I was wrong
