Hi there! Self-explanatory title, but this is an Autistic Anime Girls Competition! Here we strive to determine: Who is tumblr's top anime girlie on the spectrum? Though I'm using 'anime' as a general term, characters from print media (i.e. manga, manhwa, manhua), ‘anime-style’ webcomics, and from non-Japanese East Asian animation like donghua and hanguk aeni are welcome as well.

Some stuff to know:

The character does not have to be canonically autistic (though canon autistic rep is very much appreciated). Headcanons are allowed and expected.

You can submit as many characters as you like, but do not submit the same character multiple times.

Though I love them, autistic girls from western animation are not allowed in this particular competition.

This competition will be a more relaxed schedule than my last tumblr poll, so that I don't stress and overstretch myself, haha. I may take a few days' break between rounds instead of instantly releasing the next batch of polls right away. This should also help keep the blog from getting shadow-banned.

Submit characters through the designated Google form. Any sent through asks/messages/any other means will be ignored and you’ll be kindly redirected to the form. Just keeps things more organized this way.

Don't be a dick if your fav loses. Please. Let's all be civil here and have a good time. Doing tumblr polls is entirely for fun!

I’ve been wanting to host my own bracket for a while now - ever since I submitted a character to one of them a few months back, swore to myself I wouldn’t get invested in the results, but then ended up doing just that. Thanks a ton to @artificialkids-2k23-official, without whom this bracket wouldn’t exist!

The rules for submission are fairly straightforward, but I’ll list them here anyway.

An obvious one, but all characters submitted must be dogs, wolves, or mythical creatures that are canine in nature (i.e. Cerberus or a dog-like Pokémon). Foxes are on thin ice. 

Anthropomorphic dogs are okay. 

Characters must have originated from a video game or visual novel. If they appear in a game, but it’s an adaptation of a movie, for example, they won’t be counted. 

Named characters are preferred and will be given priority. I’m not saying that you can’t submit Granbull or every Nintendog, but in the case that there are more submissions than bracket spaces, they probably won’t make it in.

Please only submit one character at a time. The form is open to multiple responses per person, so you can submit as many characters as you like. (Just be reasonable with it and don’t send the same one over and over again?)

Currently, the plan is for submissions to close on June 9th, but this may be subject to change based on the amount of traction this bracket gets.

For example: i haven’t heavily interacted with fandom since steven universe days so I’ll use Rose Quartz as an example. People either think she’s a soft uwu mom victim of the diamonds or an evil irredeemable space despot. I have never met a steven universe fan with a neutral opinion about her.

So that’s how your blorbo can win this poll: by being divisive. They don’t have to be popular or from a popular media, they just need the people who know them to have a strong opinion about them. In this poll, the character with the MOST EVEN balance of votes wins. I’ll post an example poll to show what I mean, but basically you’re encouraged to submit a blorbo if you love them or hate them! Either one helps them in this poll! I’ll be accepting submissions for a week from today (May 16th- May 23rd) and choosing the characters with the most love AND hate submissions (please don’t submit your blorbo on both sides to boost them, be cool about it), the amount will be based on how many submissions I get.

It is a sad truth that autism barely sees representation in media. Even if it does, the character presented on-screen is usually a young boy DESPITE the fact that your gender does not effect your likelihood to have been born autistic.

Which is why this bracket strives to highlight all the canon autistic and autistic-coded girlies out there in media!! And then pit them against each other to prove who is the girlie of all time <3
