Last night I went to Photograph the launch of Privee Models. Regrettably I wore some heels, which my feet are sadly paying for now. 

It was a good night, I got to network with a few people and get their cards.  There was a great atmosphere, with Fire breathers, Magicians and a cat walk.  Even though feeling incredibly ill (there's been a bug going round) I tried to make the most of the night. Hopefully I've got shots that Jai (owner of Privee Models) will be happy with. I got to shoot with a friend of mine, Brogan, and another Photographer, Holly, which was nice. I knew that between us three we could get some great shots for the company. 

The night before was a bit hectic for me and my mom as we tried to create a ton of business cards. The company I had bought some from told me that there was an issue with their printing so they wouldn't get to me in time. So I madly designed, printed, glued, cut out and laminated 100 business cards. Thank god for my mom's handy work. But I was happy to see that most of the my cards were gone by the end of the night, so if you're here because of that, HELLO! 

Hopefully I'll be finding out about my University accommodation soon, I've been adding some fellow classmates of my future course on Facebook. I'll have to have a chat with them, as they'll be my friends for the next 3 years. I'm so excited, I'll do another blog post when I find out more.

Handmade Bussniess Cards

I have this awesome studio in Digbeth. We used the massive umbrella, but unfortunately I didn't like how the photos came out. I guess I'll stick to the soft-boxes, but it was nice to experiment.

Look how awesome this makeup bag is. Also, some of the styling for the shoot. I've never really been a stylist for my own shoot, but I think it turned out okay.

The day after the shoot, me, Brogan and Hayley went to our future University, the University of Gloucestershire. We've all fell in love with the area, course and people. It's such a lovely place. I honestly cannot wait to move there in a few months. Luckily it's only 40 minuets away from my home in Birmingham. It has a small town which is filled with small boutiques, charity shops and cute cafes. 

We're all off to study Photography: Editorial and Advertising. I can't wait, I don't think there's a better course out there for me.

I was extremely excited to find out that they have a big HMV still open. HMV is a music store, and has closed down almost everywhere due to money problems. Some are re-opening and some stayed open. I went in there and it was all the same stuff, but it was just nice to be able to look at my favourite CD's in a hard copy again. They also had a little corner of band merch, where I found this Sgt Pepper hat. I don't suite these kinds of hats, but I still tried it on and took a goofy photo. 

At the Uni open day, they had a wicked photographer come and do a talk. He had shot so many famous people, one of my favourites being of course, Paul McCartney. It was awesome to hear his stories about his work. Very inspirational.

Tomorrow I start a new project in Graphics called Obsessions. The plan is to create an editorial based around something we personally obsess over.

I love projects like these, that make you think about yourself. I've spent the past few days thinking about what I could 'Obsess' over and I still have no clue. It's not that I don't like anything, it's actually the opposite. I obsess over everything. I'm easily pleased and I get hooked onto things in seconds. Songs, movies, people, bands...Cats. (I've had strict orders not to do my project on cats...my tutor knows me well hehe)

Right now I guess you could say I'm obsessing over The Beatles, but thinking about how I can photograph that is proving a challenge for me.

I'm searching the web for inspiration while I sip some green tea. Hopefully I'll have a breakthrough before my lesson tomorrow. 

An all rounder when it comes to creativity, CharlaVail is one of THE most creative creature I've yet to come across. I started following her blog a few years back, and even after this time I still check her blog daily.  A consent reminder that inspiration is everywhere.  Her most recent project are her beanies, which give off a positive message in a cute and woolly fashion.
