Elaine did her best to avoid the napkin but it hit her arm. She stuck her tounge out. âI didnât realize right away â sorta lost inâŚâ she motioned to her notes âNote taking. My brain decided to take a back seat to what was going on around me I guess.â Elaine explained. She stood up and hugged her friend. âYouâre always staring.â she teased, âLeast youâre not staring at my butt.â She said with a playful wink. Once they let go of one another she picked up her stuff moving to sit across from Beck. Sure, she most likely should have asked but â eh. Beck was her friend sheâd be fine. âWhat are you doing here?â
âSorry for having eyes...?â Beck pursed her lips, blinking her eyes in a faux confused look. She moved a few of her things out of the way to make room for Elaine on the table. âIâm drinking coffee. And people watching. And ignoring this hangover.â Taking a long drink from her cup, her eyes scanned the room again. Beck hadnât been expecting to meet up with anyone at Traceless today, but Elaineâs company was always welcome, and Beck knew that she sometimes unintentionally avoided her friends. So it was nice to see her. She sunk back into the seat, kicking her feet up onto one of the chairs across from her. âWhat surprisingly intriguing but horribly niche and virtually unheard of topic are you taking notes on today?â
