Sam Wooding's Jazz Band made Danish history as the first American jazz musicians to visit and perform in Copenhagen.
Jazz made its debut in Denmark during the 1920s.
In 1933, the American singer and trumpeter Louis Armstrong (center, wearing a laurel wreath) visited Copenhagen. In front of Armstrong, the musicians from his band can be seen. Standing in the back is a group of prominent Danish jazz musicians.
One of the prominent Danish jazz musicians was Leo Mathisen.
"Take It Easy" is probably his best-known song.
