“Oh. You were dealing with a break up?” He asked, leaning in. He didn’t want to assume, because it could’ve been anything. “I’m sorry, but I’m glad you’re doing well. You don’t have to talk about it, if you don’t want to.” He smiled, reassuringly. “Alright. Just let me know when you’re coming over and I’ll get everything ready.”

“It’s something they do every once in a while to mix things up. I’ve never been asked to go, since I mostly do freelance work anyway. I’ll seasonally stay on the Tribune to do the entertainment column, but it works out. What about you? How’s work been treating you?” Noah asked.

“Well, I’m taking some time off, right now.” Winters were always a slow time for the handyman. Sure he’d fix a heater or two, and do a few random repair jobs, but it wasn’t as busy as summer or other seasons. Beau was used to it, however, so he took winters off, as he called it.

“Great. So what do you want to do? We can just hang out, grill some steaks, and watch a good movie, but I’m up for anything.” He mentioned, smiling for a moment. “So, hey. Are you doing better than last time?”

Beau nodded, listening to the man speak about his job. It seemed really excited to talk about it. Maybe he really enjoyed his job, which was always nice to see. “Nice! Do they do that often?” He was curious. “Yeah. I mean, I see my family a lot, but I don’t see my best friend that often. She lives in Las Vegas, but we had a good time.” He told the other. “Oh, what’s a normal Christmas, anyway?” He chuckled, knowing that despite being with loved ones, it was still anything but normal at his home, but every family had their thing.

“Sorry I didn’t say anything before leavin’. It kinda happened real fast. I got an opportunity to guest write for the Washington Post, and I couldn’t pass it up, so I was out over the holidays. I haven’t been real big on Christmas for the past couple of years anyway. Nothin’ bad, I just…” Noah shrugged and smiled. “It ain’t a big deal for me anymore, I guess. How was your holiday? Do anything fun?”

“Thanks. I’ll think about it.” Beau let out with a soft chuckle. “You got any plans for the rest of this week?” It’d been a while since he’d seen Aaron around here, so it was nice to see him again. Beau was pretty busy with work so he didn’t get out much. 

Damn this guy was gorgeous. “Spot me.” He motioned to the weights behind him. “Twenty minutes, tops.” He added.

“Sure thing. I haven’t seen you around here before. Are you new?” Beau was curious.

Dawson had been baking for about an hour now waiting for his chocolate filled croissants to be done as he had put a lot of time into them. He had been talking to the other for a short while, and excused himself to take them out and let them cool. “Don’t be afraid to try one, its not like youre going to lose your your figure over one pastry.” he teased the other nudging their shoulder. 

“They look so nice. I’m always afraid to ruin.” He chuckled. “Where did you learn to make these?” 

“Hey dude, I need some help over here. You’re not busy are ya?” Alexavier was pulling something up on his phone as he waited for the other’s attention. 

Beau approached. “Sup dude. Nah, I’m free. What do you need?” He asked, waiting for the man to look up. 

“Well that all depends, what kind of comics do you like? “ He asked Dante loved helping people find the right books and stuff for everyone. “I personally love the lovecraft comics, the art is amazing,”

Beau turned to the male, letting out a soft chuckle as he rubbed his shoulder. “Oh, I don’t know much about comics.” He admitted, smiling. “What are the lovecraft comics about?”

Interviews weren’t a hard thing to a journalist to do, Erick had done worst things in his career, now it was just a normal interview. “Thanks again for doing this. I’m sure that the magazine will be happy to have this material.” Erick kept a very friendly grin to his face. “And, don’t worry about formality ok? I’m a cool journalist so we can just do this like a normal conversation if that’s ok to you!“

The handyman nodded, attempting to keep his confusion hidden. He was happy to do any kind of interview. Perhaps it was just the fact that he didn’t know how to say no, but he also enjoyed being helpful when he was needed. So he shot Erick a smile. “Okay. I’m ready. But first, may I ask what this interview is for again?” 

“Oh.” He smiled, looking towards the back of the shop. Truthfully, he didn’t know much about comics. He was looking for a gift for someone who did. So he wouldn’t know much either way. “Okay, what would you recommend. It’s for a gift.”
