Link rushed at the Lynel with more recklessness than usual, and he badly underestimated it's strength. Link had slain red and blue maned Lynels, but this thing had the strength of something between a white-maned and a silver Lynel, and was electrically charged. No white-maned or silver Lynels had ever been seen in Hyrule at this point and definitely none that where elementally charged.

Meanwhile, Mipha was actually nearby. She had just got done with a training session with her Divine Beast and was heading towards Goponga Village. She wanted to relax a bit and decided to pay them a visit, because they always loved seeing the princess of the Zora and anyway, Mipha wanted to check up on them. It was when she reached a slope near Inogo bridge where she too, saw the Lynel.

At first she didn't realise it was already fighting something, so she reached for the grip of her spear as she began to walk down the slope. Her plan was initially to take a more cautious approach, to examine the Lynel and, when she engaged it in combat she thought, she would play the defensive for just long enough to learn how to fight it and then she would kill it. When she got a lower angle though, she did notice it was fighting someone. And, as soon as she saw the armour he was wearing and the colour of his hair she immediately knew it was Link. He had just blocked a blow from the Lynel but was thrown to the ground. Mipha threw caution to the wind and ran as fast as she could to save him.

(this is a scene i wanted to do a while ago, but never finished, so i restarted it earlier.)

(ps: yes, this is why i was practising that specific finisher. well, apart from the fact that i like it. the idea is, because this was the first shard Link fought, he hadn't begun using his bow finisher as he hadn't realised that the fatal weak point was the eye of the things, he discovered that with windblight ganon. against the first two, waterblight and fireblight, he used his signature and one of his most powerful attacks he could - a combination of a jump and a spin attack, with his strength charged.)
