What is Beatbee?

Beatbee is a social jukebox application with wide usage possibilities achieved by combining two core features.

BeatBee can function as a smartphone controlled jukebox, where everyone can ask for their favourite songs, and do it in a democratic manner - by limiting requests per-user per-time intelligently.

Also, BeatBee can play music on it's own, only based on nearby people's common taste. This is automatically determined by the user's activity on social networking and streaming services.

A Beatbee player can be any Windows PC, Linux box or Mac running the BeatBee server app and guests can connect to it via the BeatBee mobile app running on any Android or iOS device.

The player application can stream music from popular streaming services (Grooveshark or Spotify), but can also play music files from a local storage, so it is 100% "offline friendly". The mobile app can also connect to the Beatbee player without an internet connection.
