Restless
Not on vacation? Then why was he here? Business, maybe? Danny couldnât imagine what sort of business someone could have out here in the countryside. He hoped it wasnât another store opening. That would pretty much be the final nail in the coffin for his business. With that in the back of his mind, he couldnât bring himself to ask.
So, his Dad just left him out here for now. Jee, that sounded nice, didnât it? Well, it wasnât that dark yet, so it was probably fine. As long as the dad came back before too long. Maybe heâd stick around just to make sure that happened eventually. Or at least, to keep this kid from being bored picking grass.
âWhat was I doing?â Good question. âNothing much, just getting some fresh air I guess,â he said shrugging. âItâs a pretty nice night, right?â he said. âI usually take time in the morning to relax, but I didnât get a chance to today.â That probably was boring talk for a kid. âHow about you? What are you up to?â
Peter gave the smallest of nods at his question, but stayed silent. For something so simple, was there really that much to say? He finally said, âThat so?â and looked down at the dirt. Honestly he was just playing in the dirt, and this guy saw, but he said, âNothing, really. Like you.â
Peter didnât realize when he started to ramble on, either, but when it came to his dad, he could go on forever.
âMy dadâs out getting supplies, actually. We arenât staying here forever, we â weâre hunters, but if you see him, youâll know â heâs that obnoxious.â He looked up at the sky again. There was so much to sayâŚ
Danny waited patiently for the boy to talk more about what was happening. So they were hunters? That sounded⌠unorthodox. From what this kid was saying, it sounded like even he thought it was a little weird. Danny wasnât sure what kind of figure this kidâs dad was, but he sounded kind of odd.
âHunters⌠like food hunters? Or monster hunters?â Probably not bounty hunters, you wouldnât bring a kid along for something like that. If they were food hunters, that was definitely interesting. Norad was largely pescitarian, so you didnât get a lot of that sort of thing. If it was monster hunters, that.. also would be interesting, although maybe a bit less rare. âEither way, sounds pretty interesting. You come a long way to Trampoli for hunting?â
Peter scratched his head. He actually wasn't sure how to answer. He just understood that what his dad did -- it was hunting. Sometimes there wasn't a reason besides practice. He didn't always agree with it, and maybe this guy didn't either. "Well...We mostly are protectors, so we hunt down monsters. We usually don't have to hunt for food unless we are traveling outside towns, too."
He furrowed his brw, trying to think. "Monster hunters, I guess?" Peter shrugged, looking off to the side. "I don't really care... But yeah, we're a long ways from home, but I'm used to traveling so much." He nodded and replied, "Did you grow up here?"
Act Your Age (Peter&OPEN)
Peter took off, away from the forest and away from his dad. Birds flew away as he tore through the brush and trampled on mud. His shoes and clothes got dirty, but he didnât think about it at all. He was so preoccupied with his emotions, all he could do was run until he was out of the forest.
Peter skid to a stop. His stomach dropped. Looking around, nothing was familiar to him. It wasnât like him to throw such a big tantrum. He used to always give in... And he knew better than to get lost, but he didn't paid attention at all. He glanced around, wondering if anyone was around.
You know why a Spider Lily is called the flower of separation? Itâs because the leaves and the flowers can never meet. The flowers can only blossom when the leaves are all withered away. They miss one another to grow the sprout and bloom the flowers, but in the end they leave their yearning for each other and never unite. Isnât it beautiful? Even in death, they seem to miss each other like lovers.

Restless
Across the way, there was a boy. Danny made eye-contact with him for a moment, before the boy turned away again to focus on whatever it was he was doing. It seemed like he was just ripping up grass. Not that Danny particularly minded, although it sure didnât make the patch look pretty. It was more peculiar to him that some kid would be out at this time doing something idle like that.
Maybe they were staying at the inn? They sure didnât look like they were from around here. Perhaps to escape that feeling gnawing at him, Danny approached the boy, even though he had no idea what to say. He was mildly curious, but was sure there would be a boring answer. Still, it wasnât like he had anything better to do.
âHey,â he said, stopping a foot or two away from the boy. âDonât think Iâve seen you around before. You uh, staying at the inn on a vacation or something?â he asked. âYouâre out pretty late, in any case.â Shouldnât he be inside, or at least with family? Then again, if he were, Danny might not have anyone to talk to.
Oh, no, he was walking over here! Why! Peter puckered his lips and lowered his eyes more, trying to make himself look as busy with the grass as possible, curling some of it around his fingers. It didn't work -- he could see feet in front of him.
Well, he couldn't just ignore this guy. Peter looked up at him and stood up. He glanced down at his shoes. "Yeah, but I'm not on vacation,â Peter said, driving the grass into the dirt with his foot.
Peter rolled his neck around like and old man. He knew this situation. âSorry. My dad is reckless, I guess, but I can take care of myself. Besides, Iâm fine with the sunsets.â He looked behind the guy. â... So what were you doing?â
Restless
Danny stood outside his shop, taking in the evening air. He looked across the business district. The bar would be busy at around this time. Lots of people eating dinner or even just having a drink or two. It probably was a pretty welcoming place to be. Danny sighed, not really sure why he was thinking about that. He didnât feel like going to the bar, so it was pointless to speculate if it was fun there.Â
It didnât feel right, just standing around, doing nothing. But the only place he had to go was inside. That⌠didnât feel pleasant, for some reason. Still, there was no benefit to being out her for too long. Back and forth, Danny couldnât figure out what it was he wanted to do. This sort of idle restlessness had been with him for quite some time lately. It was a feeling he couldnât seem to get rid of, no matter what he did.Â
Resigning himself to that feeling, Danny turned around, ready to head back inside. Thinking he heard someone behind him, he turned around to check.
Recently, Peter and his dad found themselves in the town of Trampoli. The continent, Adonea, had much more monsters, many of which Peter had never seen. Even so, the people here were well adjusted to having monsters around, and was, in general, very unlike the deep valleys of Peter's home country. They didn't need hunters, did they? But all the more reason to visit, Peter's dad said. Much was to be learned there.
He was told to stay within town while Wilhelm scouted the place and got maps. Peter could do with that; it was what he usually did. He thought it would be nice to meet kids and play with them, but he was also worried about meeting new people. It was already late, too, not that Peter was a stranger to the dark. Contemplating this, Peter poked around in the dirt. The plants here were different, too...
He sighed. As someone who traveled a lot, he was used to being alone and unfamiliar with things. Peter started pulling grass from the ground, making a ripping sound every time he tried to uproot it. He had no idea how long he'd be here, and he had no idea who that guy across the street was. Peter looked up. But he made eye contact with the guy across the street and immediately looked back down. Hey, it's just grass!
((Hello, everyone! Iâm ready to plot with you all if youâd like! (/ v \)
Reminder
I am not resetting Peter! If we had unfinished threads and we are both on the ML, I will most likely contact you about continuation!
I will not be adressing any time left away, though and will treat this as though nothing happened between that time. Peter is still 8 years old.

i was scared of dentists and the dark i was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations oh, all my friends are turning green youâre the magicianâs assistant in their dreams
Flowers, Follicles & Friends?? [Peter & Witchkins]
Sniffling, she insisted, âYeah, I did it on purpose⌠H-hush you, Iâm fine!â Bounding up to her feet, she turned away from him so she could rub a few large tear drops out of her eyes.
As quick as a breeze, Witchkins started to giggle madly despite her previous incident. Human children were always a delight, each had their own reaction to magic, and judging by this boyâs reactions to merely pinching his cheek, it was gonna be fun to mess with him.
Opening the potion bottle, she looked around for something to pour it on and noticed a flowerbed. Floating over to it, she pushed past the boy and sprinkled two drops onto one of the flowers. Quickly pocketing the potion, she checked her watch-less wrist and nodded, âI have no idea how long it will take, guess Iâm stuck till the potion works. Why donât you entertain me?â
A devilish smile quirks upon her lips.
"Why...?" Peter mumbled. He hopped off the bench and watched noiselessly as she collected herself. He opened his mouth, but clamped it shut when she wizzed back around and giggled. It was kind of... creepy.
He stared in confusion, not really doing much of anything. His jaw slackened. She opened the bottle, which made Peter wonder, "What are you doing?" out loud. "What is that?" She made her way past Peter and to the flowerbed. "Do you need -- What are you doing?!" he implored and scrambled over to her. He leaned over the flowers. She didn't put a lot on, whatever it was.
Peter pricked his head up when he heard "potion." He turned his head to face her and looked her up and down. "Potion?" he asked, raising his eyebrows. A witch, or an overactive imagination? "What do you plan on doing?"
