a  witness  protection  couple??  like  they  could  be  total  strangers,  exes,  friends,  ect.  but  they  both  could  have  witnessed  a  crime  (  that  could  or  could  not  be  related!  )  so  they  get  paired  in  witness  protection,  and  living  far  from  what  they  could  remember  about  their  old  lives.  having  new  identities  and  given  certain  restrictions.  bonus  points  if  it's  and  older  pairing.

“  don't  you  .  .  .  .  uh  ,   think  that  they  would  hate  to  know  you're  here  ?  you  know  ,  with  me  .  last  time  they  didn't  seem  so  thrilled  to  see  me  ,  let  alone  with  you  .  because  .  .  .   yeah  .  " 

“  probably.  ”  emma  just  shrugged,  “  we're  just  friends,  so  i  don't  see  why  it  matters.  ”  she  steals  a  glance  in  his  direction,  trying  to  gauge  what  his  reaction  might  be  when  she  mentions  that  they're  just  friends.  they  both  know  it's  not  true,  but  it  doesn't  change  things.  but  after  a  moment  she  softens,  gaze  falling  on  her  lap.  “  i  don't  know,  noah...  ”  a  sigh  slips  out,  “  i  wish  it  wasn't  so  complicated.  ”

“  why  ,  uh  .  .  .  do  you  look  at  me  like  that  ?  is  there  something  in  my  hair  ?  did  you  put  something  in  my  hair  ?  ” 

“  i'm  not  looking  at  your  hair.  ”  nari's  gaze  drags  over  her,  almost  like  she's  evaluating  the  other  femme.  “  i'm  looking  at  you.  ”  a  beat,  and  then  she's  shaking  off  the  dangerous  feeling.  “  forget  it.  ”

“  we  seem  to  be  running  into  each  other  a  lot  lately  ,  mh  ?  i  mean  ,  i've  seen  you  more  than  parts  of  my  own  family  by  now  .  " 

“  i'd  suggest  getting  used  to  it.  ”  myung's  expression  didn't  change,  but  there  was  a  brief  pause  before  he  spoke  again.  “  it's  a  bit  dangerous  out  here  alone.  ”  he  tilted  his  head,  “  not  everyone  likes  to  mind  their  business,  especially  when  it  comes  to  something  as  pretty  as  you.  ”

“  i  honestly  don't  think  you're  supposed  to  be  leaving  your  shoes  out  in  the  hallway  like  that  .  trip  hazard  ,  is  what  that's  called  .  " 

“  you'll  live.  ”  kira  doesn't  even  look  up  at  him,  too  focused  on  turning  they  key  in  the  lock  and  pushing  the  door  open  to  her  apartment.  “  oh,  but  if  we're  making  suggestions...  ”  she  turned  her  attention  to  him,  leaning  in  the  doorway.  “  some  of  us  like  to  actually  sleep  at  night.  ”
