 oddly  enough,  there  were  days  when  the  very  idea  repulsed  her.  the  sight,  the  taste  .  .  sometimes  it  didn't  hit.  not  all  blood  was  the  same.  but  then  came  that  one  night,  wandering  out  of  the  library  after  an  especially  grueling  study  session,  mind  foggy  and  body  on  autopilot.  something  sweet  lingered  in  the  air—  decadent  and  alluring,  like  pastries  fresh  from  the  oven  for  anyone  else.  she  followed  it  without  thought,  drawn  toward  the  university  gym,  toward  the  aquatics  center.  and  there,  by  the  pool,  stood  a  male  figure,  back  turned,  tall  and  broad-shouldered.  her  gaze  locked  on  him  like  a  predator  catching  scent.  in  the  blink  of  an  eye,  her  irises  flared  crimson,  fangs  bared,  and  in  one  smooth,  deadly  motion,  she  lunged.  her  teeth  sank  into  his  neck.  and  oh,  this  one  tasted  divine.
