Neck of the Woods

“Oh, you fucker,” I said, looking at the label. “Pupcream,” it said in big pink letters.

Carl just smirked at me. “What’s the problem, little guy?” he said, and I felt myself drop down a few inches in height.

“Knock it off, man,” I said. Was my voice higher?

“Knock what off, shorty?” he laughed. I dropped a whole foot in height, and my bathing suit fell to my ankles. I tried to cover up.

“Don’t do it, dude, just don’t,” I whined, instinctively tucking my tail between my legs. Oh, shit, when did I grow a tail?

“Do what, pup?” he said. That was too much for me to resist – I dropped down to all fours in front of him. I tried to protest but all I could do was bark.

Carl laughed as he squatted down next to me. “Don’t worry, buddy, it’ll wear off in a few hours. Until then, you’re mine.” He patted my head and took a swig from his water bottle. There was no way for me to warn him that I’d spiked his water with ape juice.
