I've been getting these "revenge" jobs where they'll keep coming back to me. Had a bunch of postcards that I cut and scored but the scorer is lopsided therefore the smaller stuff (like tickets and postcards) end up lopsided as well. Got them back today to shave the backs because some poked out more than others, even though I scored the same measurements and they looked fine *there are hundreds though so some ended up different anyway* I did the ones I could spot but some were so miniscule that the cutter couldn't do anything unless I started making them shorter than the front. Last week the manager told me "In whatever we do, we value efficiency, right?" And I was like "trick question?" But no, he was serious. I follow that and here we are.
Kind of peeved me, took an hour and a half of my day after spending at least that on Friday doing the other stuff. Take them back to the folder- they end up at handwork to hand fold all of these postcards and in turn get brought back to me because now the sides don't line up because they're lopsided. So they want me to trim the sides too, like it's all my one mistake to these hundreds of cards when literally it was nothing I could control. You took a job and stretched it and made us put our other stuff on hold just because you refuse to fix the machine that's skewed and missing a button?? We have to be the ones to make up for it. How could I even skew a score on purpose???
Really, handwork makes it easier because you can just adjust it with your hand but the manager said to shave them- but shaving them will just- A. Shorten the product or B. Skew it even more. Here comes perhaps another hour and a half for an underwhelming outcome. That's why effiency is so low. That's why quality is so low.
If we ignore our problems long enough surely they'll just go away!!
Close upssss... their fits are surprisingly similar upon closer inspection but the missing poster is supposed to be kh3 sora (that I like to imagine riku put there) while the wanted posters are kh4 (probably Yozora?)
Sketch+first try I woke up the next day and decided I could do better and that I'm bored of purple and red
The other day I had to score some pad covers and they didn't have a sample of a pad, that was held completely separate so I just scored them according to the sample of the cover which was just handfolded but I followed it exact. It comes back to me and the manager says that I did it wrong and says to always look at the book and when I say there wasn't a book, he looks at me like I'm stupid. "You folded it without a book to reference?" So apparently the sample isn't always right, the instructions aren't always right and if there's more to a job, I have to track it down somehow, rather than, you know, having one person do the whole thing so there's no loss in communication. He ends up having me shave down the books but whoever did the books had one less than we needed. Also for a job about perfecting paper, nothing is ever perfect, the paper is mostly skewed and the scorer is actually off by a percentage so you'll never get precise measurements anyway other than trial and error.
Where the stitcher dumps excess paper is broken so they just have a little tote box that needs emptied every couple minutes and it gets all over the floor because it overflows. The binder can't keep the books aligned right. Last I checked, the AC was broken.
Later he tells me to count these other books because he messed up and lost count then sent someone else to count and they lost count so who's really in the wrong here.
Yesterday he had one guy working on my machine and I asked the manager what he wanted me to do and he said to work on the machine the other guy was using (the bigger one) so I was doing his jobs and he was doing mine and I messed pretty much all of them up because I wasn't used to working on it. Meanwhile the other guy is asking me questions like "how do I pack this? What's the formula for business cards?" So, he just put you out here on your own and expected you to perform? When he really could've just switched us to what we were used to and everything would've been easy.
Today one of the seniors told my girlfriend that girls can't get promoted because they don't allow them to work on any other machines and it's like- huh? She's been working on the folder but hasn't been trained on it, just watching in case it goes haywire, no matter how much she begs, they won't train her. But she also said that nobody of color works here (which is true, save the cleaning lady) because of a lawsuit they're in and the previous employee in the lawsuit was black, which is the dumbest thing I've ever heard but it's sexist and rwcist. Which means I need to investigate. The women say not to ask about it though which is like- fight for your rights or at least let someone do it for you if you're not willing. So if anybody has any advice or any willing knowledge, that would help.

Now if Sony said $1000 console but you can play whatever game you want free, then maybe they have a deal (just none of that cloud streaming piss) but as of right now, I don't care to buy another Sony anything, I'll stick to old fashioned gaming, no need for new games with fancy graphics (with the exception of KH4 and FF7) they don't even have exclusives anymore.

Had the wife of a teacher come in and give us a speech in high school. She told us about how she got up for work and her dad felt really bad so she took him to the hospital then went to work right after, he died in the hospital and she never saw him again. She then proceeded to say about how she didn't regret it, that she had a good relationship with her dad but she needed to work despite what all her coworkers told her. That yeah, she was sad but she'd get over it, it only lasted so long while the job she was working would last a lifetime, she was where she wanted to be. That this is what her dad would've wanted.
So you'd think that she must be a life-saving doctor or something? No, dentist...
And the teacher? An army man, so coded by his country to think like that which is weird because other than this, he was cool and even said there shouldn't be free labor as the school decided that they'd make our class go out in the courtyard and clean up then build them a greenhouse like it was some community service. He fought back against that (the school still won).

It's so funny to me how people were scared Blade was canceled with Arkane studios and all these people came out and said it wasn't and it look great and now they're rumoring that the studio is closing down, lol.
I don't understand how companies get away with not keeping maintenance. Like the place I work is better than other places but one warehouse I worked didn't keep any machine newer than the 1950s other than a giant shrinkwrapper, even made me use an old busted up wooden plank as the crux of my job capping pipe.
But my company now has these machines that break down all the time and have one thing or another wrong with them, say the binding machine for instance, right now its alignment isn't working because you tighten and loosen but it doesn't matter, the books don't stay aligned and throw off the dropper which when that goes wrong, it throws off the cutter and when that's thrown off- it just creates disaster because every piece is integral to the process.
I had a pallet today that was too small for any of the pallet jacks to fit in. So first- Why don't you have a jack that can fit it, then also- Why are you using pallets that none of the jacks fit?? They have me using workarounds for most stuff "oh just use half the jack." and let the thing wobble the whole way there, cautiously trying not to let it topple the stack of papers. Then there's the obvious part where you put the pallets in front of one another THE WRONG WAY! So you tell me not to get the one in front, but the one in back so I have to get them all out and twist them all around with half of a frking pallet jack just to take to a cutter that the screen is too dim to see. The company makes more than enough money, just fix your parts! And if it's not that, it's something else, I can think of at least 3 machines that need fixed on a regular basis or malfunction.
need some help?

I think TADC should've ended with them figuring out how to use console commands and being able to see the outside world only for them to see Caine escaped into the internet and is harassing the world. He was the one that escaped and they see their human versions just living their own life, they find out they're just digital copies and can't do anything to save reality. Tragic.
I remember my grandparents used to buy dinner for their parents instead of the parent buying for their kids but really our generation doesn't have a choice, we can barely afford to feed ourselves let alone our parents so we have to rely on them to feed us.
It extends beyond immediate family though. My girlfriend's sister's dad (different from hers) and their stepmom work different shifts, overtime just to keep the house and have to make time between all that to call off and have it so that me and my girlfriend can come see them. Making a schedule and then being able to afford it. All this just to be able to even SEE your family member.
