Clownery zone

Today's in this art by @beard-lovers-refuge . Pictures are a little out of order but this is how my brain works. Great art. I think Sky in a pile of little Rito girls is adorable.

Rest Among the Rito

“You still alive back there?” Wild asked as they made their way across yet another rope bridge. Sky waved to acknowledge the question but saved his breath for the climb ahead of him. The cursed illness that had cycled quickly through the Chain had settled in Sky’s lungs and had refused to let up after more than two weeks. Their latest trek had them walking through Wild’s era. The rest of the Chain had taken up residence in the stables below. Wind and Twilight had already been dragged across several of these rope bridges on their trek here and were at their limit for dealing with any more. Time and Wars had opted to stay with them and while Hyrule had been ready to explore a new spot, Legend had been increasingly stiff and sore as the temperatures plummeted and the Traveler had ultimately decided to stay with Legend to ensure the stubborn veteran actually rested. That left Wild, Four, and himself up for the trip to Wild’s Rito Village. Sky suppressed another cough as he reached the first of three pillars rising from a lake and connecting the island containing the village and the rest of the area. Why was he still fighting with his lungs? Everyone else had been fine two days after their fever broke and no one had any sort of trace of their illness passed five days later. Why did he still feel like he only was at half strength?

“Hello Mister.” Someone tugged at his tunic and he looked down to see a tiny bird... child.

“Hi.” he answered automatically, slightly dumbfounded.

“Are you okay?” a second voice chirped from his other side. This child was pink in comparison to the yellow-feathered one who had first spoken.

“He looks tired.”

“No. He looks sick.”

There were suddenly five little birds all chattering together. One spoke of having Link make him... some dish that he didn't catch the name of. Her sister scolded that she just wanted the salmon for herself. Two were taking hold of sleeves, chirping he should rest and that a down bed at the Shallow's Roost was just where he needed to be.

“Girls!” All five abruptly stopped when the Rito woman leaned out of the nearest gazebo-like ‘building.’ “Don’t harass the man.” She then looked at Sky.

“Oh, hello. You must be Link’s friend.” When Sky nodded, she continued . “He went to speak to Kaneli and Teba up on Revali’s Landing.” Sky started to thank her when his lungs decided right then and there that they’d had enough of his nonsense and hit him with a coughing fit. He felt bad as the little girls all startled.

“Oh dear, you sound terrible...” When he started to try to wave off the concern, the Green Rito woman turned to the brood of chicks. “Girls, bring him up here. I’ve got just the thing.”
