Seeing someone whisk by in a small car may be amusing since people are traditionally used to larger cars, but people who own smaller cars may actually be getting benefits for choosing a smaller vehicle. Many small cars are more economical, good on gas, and leave less of a carbon footprint on the world. People who drive smaller cars can take advantages of many fuel cost and maintenance savings, and even tax incentives to drive a modern smaller car. In addition to savings in gas and possible tax breaks, many smaller cars are more affordable than standard sized vehicles. Though many of these standards have been drilled into our heads and even recommended to be followed by car manufacturers, many of them are simply car myths, not facts! To be eligible for these $18,000 cars, all these kids had to do was get perfect attendance for a year. Since only 357 seniors in the Los Angeles area had perfect attendance, their chances were pretty high. Over the last year LAUSD (Los Angeles Unified School District) has given out monthly awards for attendance. Monthly prizes range from bicycles, to Subway sandwiches, to free passes to amusement parks. The gifts are donated by local companies. Obviously the goal of this program is to get kids in their seats. There is a direct connection between attendance and academic performance. So, the more kids go to school the better the school districts grades will be.

In this blog post we go over what a harmonic balancer is, what a harmonic balancer does, and who invented the harmonic balancer. So let’s get started. First of all, what is a harmonic balancer and what does it do? If you’ve ever looked inside the engine when it’s running, then you can just imagine there’s a lot of power running through all those engine parts. Cylinders fire, pistons move up and down and a lot of torque (force due to rotation) turns the crankshaft which along with the power of your engine and the phenomenon of rotational movement eventually moves your car.
