Lexi felt like she was back at the beginning of the start of the year.
Waiting outside the gym hall, waiting for the audition.
Only this time, everything was different.Â
This time she was entering the audition with a band that she adored.
She had her close friends with her.
Her brother and his friends
And then she had two people that meant the most to her besides her.
There were two other bands at the school trying out, but they were last, once again she had to wait till the end.
Her leg was bouncing, vibrating off of the seat.
Steve grabbed it gently.
"Like deja vu?" Steve laughed as she nodded.
The five members of the band wore similar items, all in black except Lexi who wore red.
She stood out, on purpose.Â
Eddie was spinning the rings on his fingers as they waited.
"Corroded Coffin?" The main judge smiled, they stood as one.Â
"So we are doing a documentary with this year's battle of the bands, are you happy to do this?" He asked as they all nodded.
"Perfect, so when you go on the stage, you are going to be asked a few questions by our audition judges, then you will play your song, if they like you you will be told right there and then and then your details will be taken and so forth" He explained.
"Okay" Lexi nodded as he looked between them all.
"Good luck" He told them as all there friends gathered on the bleachers, a few other students watching.
"Hello" A blonde woman smiled, looking up at them as they walked onto the stage that had temporarily been built for the auditions.
"Hi" Lexi smiled, the two other male judges besides the woman smiled.
"Introduce yourselves" The woman looked up at them.
"I'm Alexis Jones, main lead singer and secondary lead guitarist" Lexi spoke, the other band members introducing themselves one by one.
"You said main lead, and secondary guitarist?" One of the men asked.
"Yeah, so Eddie and I both had our own songs that we sing, and when one of us sings the other is the main guitarist" She explained as the three of them nodded, writing something down. "Thought it gave us something different than other bands" Lexi explained.
"Okay, I like it, and what will you be singing today?" The woman looked over at the band.
"It's called You Call Me a Bitch Like It's a Bad Thing" Lexi smiled.
A few raised brows. Interested.Â
"And what is the story behind it?" The woman smiled.
"It's about being called every name under the sun so often you stop caring. It's basically me...digging back"Â
The woman grinned.Â
"Take it away."
Eddie looked at the others and counted them in, all of them immediately getting into it.
The music slammed through the gym.Â
"Took me to your little crib
Guess it must have been a big deal (a big deal)"
Her smirk deepened as she paced.
"Got me starring in your wet dream
Now it's time to get real (get real)"
Lexi walked towards Eddie, looking over to the judges.
"I'm not looking for love
No, not today
But you call me up
And had the nerve to say
See you next Tuesday"
She laughed before turning back to Eddie.Â
"You call me a bitch like it's a bad thing
You call me a freak like that means something
Can't get your way so you're sulking
I think we know the rest
Get it off your chest"
"I don't give a shit
I love it when you call me a bitch like it's a bad thing"
Their friends cheered and clapped as Eddie walked over to Lexi, performing together.
"You show up everywhere I go
Get a grip you're acting so weird (so weird)"
She gently pushed Eddie as he pretending to be heartbroken
"I don't need your jager bombs
I think I can take it from here (from here)"
"You gotta learn to leave
When the party ends"
"And I don't really care
What you tell your friends
Tell me again"
She looked up to Steve, sending him a wink.Â
"You call me a bitch like it's a bad thing
You call me a freak like that means something
Can't get your way so you're angry
I think we know the rest
Get it off your chest"
She walked over to the edge of the stage.
"I don't give a shit
I love it when you call me a bitch"
She dropped to her knees.
"I think you hate me 'cause you want me
You only want what you can't have
I'm just being who I wanna be
But you can't deal with that"
She held the note, looking to ceiling.
"You call me a bitch like it's a ba-ba-bad thing"
"You call me a freak like that means something
Can't get your way so you're so pissed off
I think we know the rest
Get it off your chest"
"I don't give a shit
I love it when you call me a bitch like it's a bad thing"
Eddie played the song out, Lexi pretending to play an air guitar as she rest on her knees as the song came to an end.
The entire gym all erupted in claps and cheers.
Eddie helped her off of the floor.
Looking over to the judges as they all look at one another.
"I think this is my easiest yes of the day" The woman smiled, "I think you guys are really incredible" She clapped.
"I kind of want to hear Eddie sing also" The man on the right pointed at the lead.
"Really?" Eddie asked as he looked at Lexi who nodded.
"Can we do that?" Lexi asked as the judges looked at one another.
"I tell you what, you perform a song with Eddie singing, and we will insure that you both get to play for the battle of the bands" The woman agreed as the five members walked into a huddle, discussing which song.
"Okay" Eddie smiled as Lexi grabbed her guitar off of Steve as he held onto it for her as she didn't need it for their song.
"This is the next go round" Eddie shrugged as Lexi played the first notes, Jeff joining her quickly.
"I wanna do it 'til the sun comes up
'Til we're both so good and sweaty we can't stand up"
He sang closely into the mic, fearless, confident.
"I wanna do it 'til we're both about to drop
As long as we're caught in together then we're never gonna stop"
He looked over to the judges with a smirk on his lips
"I wanna go until the neighbors all complain
'Cause they heard somebody screaming and they think we're both in pain"
He winked at Steve knowing this song was about Lexi only causing Steve to roll his eyes.Â
"I wanna go so long your parents think you died
They're gonna call the cops, the CIA, and then the FBI"
Lexi walked forwards, playing the guitar quickly as she jumped around and danced, Eddie watching her adorableness with a smile.
"Yeah, we're gonna love it when the lights go down"
(Hold on, here we go)
"Yeah, we're gonna go until our legs give out"
('Round and 'round we go)
"Yeah, we're gonna do it hanging upside down"
(Up and down we go)
"Yeah, we're getting ready for the next go 'round
'Round and 'round we go"
Lexi smiled as she looked at Eddie, this song was a good song, and she knew the meaning behind it.
"Shut the windows, lock the doors, unplug the phone
For all intents and purposes, there ain't nobody home"
"Then we can do it 'til the batteries are gone
And borrow two from the TV remote to throw this thing back on"
Lexi got closer to Eddie as he practically sang the song to her.Â
"I wanna cover you with jello in the tub
We can roll around for hours without ever coming up
I want you naked with your favourite heels on
Slap John Deere across my ass and ride me up and down the lawn"
"Yeah, we're gonna love it when the lights go down"
(Hold on, here we go)
"Yeah, we're gonna go until our legs give out"
('Round and 'round we go)
"Yeah, we're gonna do it hanging upside down"
(Up and down we go)
"Yeah, we're getting ready for the next go 'round
'Round and 'round we go"
Lexi walked forwards for her solo, dropping to her knees as Eddie head banged with Jeff and Garett at the back.
Her fingers played the chords with elegance as she beautifully sweated.
Her face distorted as she played the song like she had been doing it her entire life.Â
Eddie walking over to her once again, helping her from the floor.Â
"Yeah, we're gonna love it when the lights go down"
(Hold on, here we go)
"Yeah, we're gonna go until our legs give out"
('Round and 'round we go)
"Yeah, we're gonna do it hanging upside down"
(Up and down we go)
"Yeah, we're getting ready for the next go 'round
'Round and 'round we go"
Lexi played them out as the room fell into a cheer.
"Holy shit" the judges discussed.
"Yeah you guys are something special" The man on the left finally spoke.
"You are through to the next round" He nodded.
"Definately, four night, five days in this competition, you decide who is singing per round, but I would try to do something special if you guys get to the final" The woman looked at the other two judges.
"So we are in?" Jeff asked as they all smiled.
"You guys are through, we will see you in two days" The woman smiled as they all celebrated on the stage, their friends running over to them, hugging them in celebration as the judges smiled.
"Wait, who is the VIP?" Lexi called over to the judges.
"Alice Cooper" The man on the right smiled as Lexi almost passed out there and then.
"Holy shit" Eddie and Lexi jumped for joy.
"Okay, boys, get packing when we get home, I'll take all the instruments and our precious singer, you guys can go in one with Grant right?" Eddie asked as they all nodded in agreement.
"Where are we going to sleep?" Lexi asked as the presenter walked over to them.
"You will be given accommodation" He smiled giving them a piece of paper, "Three rooms, free breakfast and dinner" He smiled as he handed them the details. "Any problems our number is at the bottom" He smiled before leaving.
Lexi hugged her band mates once again as everyone congratulated them.
That evening, Steve, Eddie and Lexi headed back to her trailer, Eddie and Lexi on a high after the day they had, Steve couldn't be more proud.
"Okay, I am going to pack my suitcase now before I forget something" Lexi smiled as she walked into her room.
"You want help packing everything?" Steve asked knowing they had to leave tomorrow evening if they were going to make it there on time for morning rehearsals.
"Yeah man, thank you" Eddie nodded as Steve gave him a smile.
"Dude, can I ask, you've been different since the wedding, did something happen?" Eddie asked.
"What did we have sex?" Steve asked as Eddie shrugged, "We didn't" Steve admitted. "But I found this deeper feeling for her, and to be honest it scared the crap out of me" Steve admitted.
"What do you mean?" Eddie asked, grabbing him a beer
"Well she defended me against my family, made my brother look like a prick in the most polite, calmest way imaginable" Steve looked at Eddie, "And we just talked a lot, about when we realised we had feelings, why we had feelings, it was a different connection after we came home you know, but part of me just felt wrong because of it, because of you"
"Look man, I knew what I was getting myself into, as did you" Eddie took a sip of his beer, "I get it, you had her alone for a few days, no interruptions, no nothing" Eddie nodded. "I get it"
"Man, I know she has to chose, but it's terrifying to think about" Steve admitted.
Eddie took a deep breath, rolling the bottle between his pals.
"It's terrifying for me too"
He saw how Eddie looked at him, he didn't see competition, he saw fear, the same kind that sat with him.
"I've never done this before, sharing feelings, sharing her...hell half the time I don't know what I am doing"
"Same here man" Eddie snorted.
"I don't want to win by accident, or lose because I didn't fight hard enough" Steve rubbed his face.
"Or make her feel like a prize," Eddie nodded.
Steve's jaw tightened.
"She's not"
"I know," Eddie said quickly. "I've spent my whole life being the guy who is expected to lose, she looks at me like...I am real, like I am worth choosing"
Steve nodded. "She looks at you like that" He admitted
"Yeah? Well she looks at you like you're home" Eddie gave him a crooked smile.
Steve sent him a smile.
"Why are you two so quiet?" Lexi laughed.
"Nothing" Eddie smiled
"Lies" Lexi called over as she grabbed herself a beer. "I'm almost done, wanna go for a drive after this?" She asked the two boys in front of her.
"Sure" Steve nodded as she disappeared back into her room.
Eddie stood, grabbing another beer for the two of them, "Whatever happens, I don't hate you" Eddie nodded.
"Good, because I don't think I could handle that on top of everything else" Steve admitted.
Eddie hesitated, then extended his hand
"May the best idiot win" Eddie muttered
Steve huffed a laugh, taking his hand.
"She's not choosing based on that" Steve shook his hand.
"Yeah, that's the issue" Eddie smiled
"Okay, do I pack my leather or denim?" Lexi asked as she came out of her room
"Demin" Steve responded
"Leather" Eddie nodded
"See, this is my life now" Lexi smirked as the two of them smiled at her.
"I'll pack both" She nodded before leaving them once again.
"We won't have time for a drive tonight" Steve flopped on the sofa.
"You're joking, Lexi being quick to pack? Of course not" Eddie laughed as the two of them cheered their bottles.
A new understanding and almost friendship blossomed at that moment.Â

The drive home was quiet, the hum of the engine filling the space between one another. Steve held onto her thigh, stopping before they entered the trailer park.
"Hey" Steve looked at her. "I've really enjoyed this weekend, I really didn't want it to end, but we are back now and we have to remember Eddie is still part of this" He smiled.
"I know, Eddie and I have a battle of the bands in a few weeks, so the tables are going to turn" Lexi tried to make light of the situation.
"I know" Steve smiled as he leaned over kissing her softly.
"Let's get you home" He smiled, a frown pulling at his lips.
As they pulled into Lexi's drive next to her trailer they could see the familiar chaos inside, Eddie's van parked outside, a few guitars leaning on the side of it, the muffled strings coming from inside.
Lexi smiled as she walked up the steps.
Steve followed her inside, hands in his pockets knowing how tense the weekend had been.
"Lexi!" Eddie called out, looking up from his guitar, hair wild as ever. "There you are, finally"
"Hey Eds" She smiled as he gave her a hug.
"You have to come see what I have been working on" He smiled, pointing at a stack of papers next to his amp. "I've got the songs ready for the battle of the bands, and trust me, you are going to love them" He beamed.
Steve leaned against the wall, arms crossed watching her. Something about the way she lit up when she looked at Eddie, the warmth, it made him smile, although he was beginning to feel that pang of jealousy as things began to get more intense.
"See, knew you would love them" Eddie smiled.
"How are you Eddie" Lexi asked as she took a seat on her sofa, Steve standing by the door ready for a quick escape.
"Better now you are home" Eddie smiled as he looked over to Steve. "You alright over there Harrington?" Eddie asked as Steve smiled.
"Yeah, was a long weekend, my brother is an asshole and just ruined everything this weekend" Steve explained
"Sorry man" Eddie was sincere.
"Look, it was great to see you Eddie, but I think I am going to go. My parents will be home in the next few hours so I wanna make sure I am prepared for them" Steve nodded, he leaned over the sofa to place a kiss against Lexi's cheek. "I'll see you guys soon"
"Bye Steve" Lexi looked at him worried as he left in a rush.
"Is he okay?"Eddie asked as he looked at Lexi confused.
"Yeah, his family are just shit people, made him feel like crap this weekend" Lexi explained.
"Did you guys?" Eddie questioned shyly.
"No," Lexi smiled, shaking her head gently. "No we didn't"
"Okay" Eddie nodded.
A few days later Eddie and Lexi were in full swing of practice for the battle of the bands.
They headed over to Garet's garage.
It was the weekend before they headed back to school, meaning a few more days before the audition for battle of the bands, meaning everything had to be perfect.
"Alright" Eddie said, strumming a quick riff "This is where you blow everyone away baby"
Lexi rolled her eyes. "I'm sure I have this part covered, you are the one who keeps changing the chords"
Eddie tilted his head, smirk playing at his lips. "Hey, I'm making it better, trust me-the audience will thank me"
"Better huh? Or more Eddie Munson-ified" She winked.
"Oh come on, you love the Munson touch" He leaned into her.
Her lips quirked into a teasing smile. "I might...tolerate it"
He laughed, making Lexi blush.
"Anyway" Eddie said, stepping closer, the air between them thick as they moved back to their positions.
As the first few bars started, Lexi hit the notes perfect, her voice smooth but somehow commanding.
Lexi couldn't help but look over at him, he was watching her too, not just the performance, but her.
The way her hair fell slightly over her face as she sang, the way her rings caught the lights and threatened to blind him. Or her goddamn smirk.
When the chorus ended, Eddie leaned over to her.
"You're perfect," Eddie said without missing a beat.
Her cheeks warmed, but her eyes rolled. "Come on Munson, focus. The band is going to notice in a minute" She laughed.
"Maybe that's the point" He raised a brow.
Lexi couldn't stop smiling, stepping back into the mic.
Eddie winked at her, as he looked at the others who had noticed the flirting.
After the others had packed up, Lexi and Eddie jumped into the van.
"You know, you sound a lot better when you aren't distracted." She teased
"Oh yeah, and what exactly were you distracting me with" Eddie smirked as he started up the van.
"Well, you have a staring problem" She laughed.
"I stare? No way" Eddie laughed as he began to head back towards the trailer park.
"You make it hard to act normal" Eddie admitted.
"I thought I was making it easy for you?" Lexi smirked as she got closer to him.
"Easy?" He repeated.
"Lexi nothing about you is easy, not your voice, your attitude, definitely not the way you make me feel all the time" Eddie explained
"You are charming Eds" Lexi smiled.
"I mean it, it's hard to focus on anything but you" Eddie looked at her and then the road once again.
"Maybe I like to see how hard I can make it for you" She laughed as he gripped her leg with his ringed hand.
"Well, I think you are winning on this one" Eddie laughed as he pulled into the trailer park.
He put the van in park as he turned to face her.
"You wanna keep working on chords?" She asked him as he looked down to her lips then back to her eyes.
"I think I have time" Eddie leaned closer to her, closing the gap. He pressed his lips against hers, slow, deliberate at first. Teasing, testing.
Lexi's hands shot up into his chest, gripping his shirt tightly.
The kiss depended as the van felt like it was getting smaller and smaller.
Eddie pulled back, resting his head against hers, "I've wanted to do that since you got home" Eddie smiled before kissing her again, harder this time making up for the tension that had been holding back.
Her hands were tangled in his hair, pulling him closer, needing contact.
For a long moment, they stayed like that-lips locked, hands roaming. Hearts hammering in sync.
"Eddie," she whispered.
"Yeah?" His hand brushed her cheek.
"Does this mean you forgive me for before?"
He looked at her with a smile.
"Of course" Eddie smiled as he leaned in once again only for a short chased kiss.
After a few more hours of looking at chords and lyrics they finally decided to have some food.
Lexi decided to cook something easy, spaghetti and meatballs was on the menu for the evening. The two of them sat opposite one another at the dining table.
"Can we talk about it?" Eddie asked as she looked at him, playing with her food.
"Yeah" She nodded before putting ameatball in her mouth.
"Wehn you left, we had a bit of an argument, so I need to hear evyerhitng, I need to reassure myself I still have a chance with you here" Eddie panicked.
"I like you Eddie, I like us, everything about being here with you, but Steve...he is there too and I know sooner or later I have to chose" Lexi felt like she was repeating herself again.
Eddie's jaw tightened, not with anger, but confliction. "You know I get it Lexi, I do. You can't control feelings, and you shouldn't have to choose just because someone elses feelings exist" Eddie explained
Lexi reached across the table and took his hand in his.
"I am scared, I don't want to hurt anyone not you, ot steve. But I dont want to deny myself what I feel, and it's real, and it matters"
Eddie squeezed her hand, "It matters to me, everything with you matters. I just...I'm beginning to struggle with the whole sharing thing"
Her heart clenched. "I know, but I am scared of choosing wrong, or choosing to early and have to live with that for the rest of my life"
He leaned across the table, resting his head against hers.
"Lexi, whatever happens, I want you to know, I want you, all of you and I will fight for you, but I will also respect whatever you decided"
Her eyes began to well with tears.
"I just don't want to lose either of you" She cried.
"You wont" Eddie stood and walked over to her, crouching in front of her, taking her hands in his, kissing them gently.
"Whatever happens, I will always be there for you" Eddie stood the two of them up, hugging her tightly as she looked up at him.
"Thank you" She smiled as he placed a quick kiss on her lips.
"Let's head to bed." Eddie smiled as the two of them walked together to her room, flopping on the bed and relaxing into one another.
School was back, and god did no one want to go back.
Steve, Eddie and Lexi rolled into school together in Steve's BMW.
"I have not missed this shit" Lexi looked around, people in their own worlds.
"I haven't missed that asshole" Eddie looked over to Billy who sat on his vehicle, looking to where Max had run off with her friends.
"Let's just do this, only a few more months" Lexi reminded them. "Well, if we all graduate" Lexi laughed as the two of them couldn't help but agree.
"Lets get this day over with" Eddie climbed out of the back, Steve and Lexi getting out also.
"Just so we are all aware, I am not tolerating shit this year" Lexi looked over to Tommy and Carol.
"Fine by me" Eddie smiled before walking over to the band.
Lexi and Steve continued to walk towards Jonathan and Nancy.
"Steve!" Tommy shouted behind them, the two of them turning to look at him.
"What" Steve sighed, turning to face him.
"Nothing, just i can't help but laugh, Nancy ran off with the fags brother and you got stuck with the freaks sloppy seconds" Tommy laughed as Lexi took a deep breath.
The air snapped.
"The fuck did you call her" Steve pushed him back, fist in his collar.
"Ooo, he still has some fire"
Lexi stepped in, hands on Steve's arm.
"It's the first day back asshole, can't you just give it a minute before proving once again your still a fucking embarrassment" Lexi snapped as Billy walked over to the two of them.
"Leave it" Billy warned Tommy, knowing he had to stay away or they had enough against him to make his life hell.
"Okay, I will give it a few days" Tommy laughed before Steve lunged for him, Lexi only just keeping him back, nails accidentally digging into him.
"Walk away" Lexi yelled at Tommy as Carol pulled him away.
"You okay?" Lexi looked up at Steve worried.
"Yeah, just didn't like him talking about you like that" Steve sighed looking back towards where they walked off to.
"Are you sure"
Steve hadn't been the same since they came back from the wedding, and Lexi was worried.
"Steve," She whispered.
"I'm okay baby" He whispered, squeezing her hand before walking off to his first class.
Lexi stood there worried.
"I need to find myself some girlfriends" Lexi realised as she spoke to herself, looking around and walking off to her first class.
Lexi's day was slow, she had no lessons with Steve or Eddie.
She spent a few lessons with Jonathan where they alked the whole time, she had one with Nancy where they shared awkward conversations, but then she had one with Robin.
"Hey" She smiled as Robin took a seat besides her.
"Hi" Robin smiled back, "How was your winter break, sorry about your dad, and that I couldn't go, it didn't feel appropriate" Robin rambled.
"It's okay, winter break was fine, and how was yours?"
"Oh, it was okay," Robin nodded.
"Hey, can I ask a massive favour, I have no girlfriends, and I really need to speak to one" Lexi began as Robin excitedly smiled.
"Me neither, and absolutely" Robin nodded. "I can come over whenever" Robin gave Lexi her number which she put in her pocket.
"Thank you" Lexi smiled as the two of them made conversation throughout history together.
Eddie found Steve behind the gym, unable to find him all morning and after what he witnessed that morning, he knew that something was going on.
"Thought that was you" Eddie said quietly, lighting a cigarette. "Word travels fast when its Tommy running his mouth" Eddie offered him a cigarette.
Steve thankfully took it.
"Is Lexi okay?" Steve asked as Eddie shrugged.
"I haven't seen her since this morning, she seemed pissed though, trying not to show it I guess, which is honestly more scary"
"He called her sloppy seconds, talked about Nancy and Jonatha like they were trash. He talked to Lexi like she was nothing, something to pass around"
Eddie's cigarette snapped between his fingers.
"She had to hold me back" Steve laughed, but it wasn't amusement.
A beat.
Then Eddie tilted his head, "You want to walk away from this, or do you wanna finish it" Eddie asked
Steve didn't hesitate. "I want him to never say her name again"
Eddie grinned. It wasn't friendly.
"Cool, because I just saw him heading to the bathroom...alone"
The two of them said nothing, they both walked together to the bathroom.
Tommy didn't even see it coming.
Eddie slammed him into the toilet stool so hard the metal rang.
"What the-"
Steve hit him next.
A clean punch to the jaw, knocking him sideways, his head bouncing off the toilet door with a clang.
"You don't talk about her" Steve reminded him.
"You're fucking insane!" Tommy swung blidnly missing, and throwing himself out into the hall causing everyone to jump.
Eddie didn't stop, he drove his fist into Tommy's ribs, not one, twice, hard enough to steal the air from his lungs.
"That's for Lexi" He whispered, "And that's for thinking you get to open your mouth"
Steve was not done.
"He hauled him up by the collar, "If you even look at her wrong, I wont stop next time"
Tommy spat blood, eyes wide with real fear."
"Get-off me!" Eddie shoved him down onto the floor, "Nah, you listen"
"You do not get to speak about her, look at her, nothing" Eddie warned
Steve straightened, "You're done"
They stepped back as Lexi began to sprint next to Robin down the hall, a teacher behind them.
Tommy stayed on the floor, coughing and humiliated.
"Run" Steve grabbed Eddie as they fled the school.
Lexi sighed angrily looking at Robin.
"I guess this is what the girl is about?" Robin asked as she nodded.
"Fuck" Lexi looked at Tommy in shock. "I have to find them" Lexi looked at Robin.
"I will distract the teacher," Robin nodded as Lexi sprinted in the same direction.
She found them about ten minutes later.
Steve's knuckles were bloody and split
Eddie had blood on his sleeve-not his.
She looked between them.
"What did you do?" She asked.
"Lex-"
"No, don't not yet" Lexi snapped
Eddie leaned back against the metal behind the bleachers.
"He deserved it" Eddie looked at her.
"That's not the point. You dont think I know that, you think I didn't want to hit him myself"
Steve flinched.
"We weren't trying to scare you" Steve said quickly, "We just couldn't let him get away with it"
Lexi laughed-a broken, disbelieving sound.
"You think this helps?" Lexi snapped. "You think watching the two people I care about the most turn into something violent is comforting me?"
Eddie's jaw tightened, "That's not fair"
"It is, you didn't think to ask what I wanted, you saw red and had to bleed it out on someone else" Lexi snapped.
"You think I wanted to enjoy it?" Eddie asked.
Her eyes flicked down to him.
"Did you?" She questioned him, but no surprise he didn't answer.
"I have spent too much of my life being talk about, judge and I have learned to survive it, but today, I never want to see that?" She begged "I was the excuse today to beat Tommy, not the person"
"I'm sorry"
"I don't need you to fight my battles, I can handle myself, I need to trust that I can stand up"
"What if one day you cant?" Eddie asked.
"Then I will ask you"
Silence fell between them.
"I care about you both too much, but if this becomes about who can hurt someone more for me...I will walk away"
"You won't" Steve's chest tightened
"I will, because I will not be the reason you ruin yourselves" She cried, tears falling down her cheeks.
Eddie ran his fingers through his hair "Fuck"
"I don't want to to choose because one of you losses control" She wept.
Steve reached for her, slower, asking with his eyes.
She let him take her hand.
"I'm sorry" Steve walked to her, Eddie walking also.
"Me too"
She squeezed both of their hands.
"Next time, stand besides me, not infront"
They both nodded.
"Ah, just the boys I was looking for" The principle smiled behind them.
"Musnon, Harrington, come with me" He smiled as the three of them followed them to the office.
The door opened, the three of them being ushered in."
Principle Higgins sat at his desk, lips pressed thin, Coach Melvald hover by the window, disappointment all over his face.
"Sit" Higgins said as the three of them sat down.
"Let's be clear, what happened in the hallway this morning, was assault"
"Tommy started it" Eddie scoffed.
"I don't care who started it, you finished it"
Lexi's fingers curled into her pals.
"Tommy is in the nurses office with concussion, and I have half a hallway of witnesses saying you two jumped him in the bathroom"
Steve inhales looking at Lexi.
"He was harassing Lexi"
"Of course you were present Miss Jones"
"I wasn't when this happened, but I was there this morning when Tommy was purposely trying to wind Steve up"
"That doesn't justify violence like that or at all!"
"I didn't tell them to do it, I told them to walk away, so if you are going to punish someone, don't pretend I am a fragile excuse"
"Lex-" Steve turned to her sharply
"I can speak for myself"
"Your honesty is noted, but consequences are consequences"
"Let me guess, I am suspended," Eddie laughed.
"Two weeks" Eddie's smile faded. "One for you Harrington, and Miss Jones this is your last warning." Higgins snapped.
"What about the battle of the bands, the audition is tomorrow" Lexi asked as he looked at Lexi and then Eddie.
"If you get in and pass the audition, you can continue doing it while Mr Munson is suspended, but fail to get past the audition, you will have to live with it" Higgins explained as the two of them looked at one another.
"Fine" Lexi nodded as Eddie agreed, the three of them standing up and walking away.
"My dad is going to kill me" Steve sighed, "You don't have to tell him, just stay with me for the week" Lexi shrugged. "Both of you, battle of the bands is tomorrow, that means if we get through, next week we have to travel outside of Indiana anyway so you can just stay at my place" Lexi shrugged as the three of them walked out of the school and to Steve's BMW.
"If that's okay?" Steve asked as the two of them nodded, not like Eddie had a say anyway.
They immediately drove to Steve's house, him running and collecting enough belongings for the week, running back undetected and back into his car, driving to the trailer park.
The three of them walked into Lexi's trailer in silence, they had no idea what to say to one another.
"I'm gonna have a shower" Lexi sighed, walking into the bathroom, gripping the sick as soon as the door shut behind her.
Tears threatened to spill.
She was angry and upset.
She had no words for what had happened.
Tommy had said a lot of things, worse than what he had said during the day, and Steve and Eddie had never blown up like that before.
She turned on the shower, stepping inside and washing the day off of her.
Meanwhile, Steve stood awkwardly against the kitchen counter, Eddie flopping on the sofa, elbow to knees, staring at the floor.
"That went to shit" Eddie finally broke the silence.
"Yeah" Steve sighed, annoyed.
"She shouldn't have to ever deal with that," Eddie admitted.
"Not today, not ever" Steve agreed.
"I don't want to hurt her...or you" Eddie admitted.
The shower was cut off. Both of them still.
Steve stood straighter.
"I don't want to hurt either of you either" Steve whispered as he heard her bedroom door close.
"If she chooses you, I will survive," Eddie admitted.
Steve froze,
"But if she chooses me, I don't want you to make it a war" Eddie pleaded
"I won't" Steve turned.
"And if she chooses neither of us?"
"Then we both lose" Steve shrugged, trying not to think about it.
"Hey" Lexi appeared, hair damp, hoodie pulled on, tired eyes as she looked between them.
The two of them smiled, looking at her and then one another.
"Come on, I'll order us some food" Steve smiled as she walked over to Eddie, taking a seat beside him as he wrapped an arm around her.Â

It was the day of the wedding.
The ceremony began at 2pm, so Steve decided to wake up early and order room service before Lexi woke up.
He ordered her fruit and pancakes with coffee and apple juice.
Her favourite.
The light knocks of the server on the door caused Lexi to wake up, Steve had already gotten changed and took food from the server, closing the door with his foot.
"Morning baby" Steve smiled as she sat up with a smile, looking up at him.
"Did I fall asleep before you got to bed?" She questioned as he chuckled with a nod.
"It's okay, you looked ridiculously adorable" Steve laid the tray over her, sitting beside her as he took his coffee from the tray.
"This looks incredible" She smiled as he took an apple from the bowl.
"I know you love pancakes" Steve smiled as she put her finger through the whipped cream, dotting it on his nose.
Steve laughed as she nodded.
"I love pancakes" She laughed as he rubbed the cream off of his nose and ate it.
"What is the time?" She asked, looking around for the time.
"Around 9am" He told her as she nodded, taking a bite of the pancakes. "We have a few hours, so I was thinking we could go for a walk around the grounds before we have to get ready for the wedding?" He asked her as she nodded.
"That sounds really nice" She leaned over, placing a kiss on his lips.
Not long later, the two of them were dressed and outside in the mornings crips air.
Surprisingly, despite the hectic day ahead, the grounds were quiet.
Lexi slipped her hand into Steve's pocket, fingers lacing with his.
"You're so cold" Steve jumped as he wrapped his hand tightly around hers.
"Sorry" She giggled. "You okay, you seem quiet this morning" She asked gently.
"Better today" He nodded.
"You were tense last night, before I went to bed" She asked worried.
"I just...I just hated that you had to deal with that with James"
"I can handle your family Steve, what mattered was that you didn't make me feel like I was alone in it" She continued to walk as he stopped.
She turned to face him.
"I meant what I said, I am always on your side, no matter what happens" Steve told her quietly.
"I know" Her throat tightened as she walked to him.
"Look, after today, we get to go back home, back to normal" She smiled as he laughed under his breath.
"Normal is kind of a stretch"
"Yeah, I guess it is" She laughed.
"I'm glad you came here with me" Steve looked at her.
"Me too"
The two of them continued to walk around the grounds, Lexi humming lyrics as Steve tried to guess what song it was.
The two of them spoke about the plan for the day before getting ready in their room.
The ceremony was breathtaking.
Rows of white chairs lined to the aisle, soft winter light spilling through the tall windows.
Lexi took her seat beside Steve.
She crossed her legs, hands folded, posture calm. But Steve could see it.
Steve's mother and father sat either side of them.
Steve besides his father, his brother on the other side.
Lexi between Steve and his mother.
Lexi knew Steve's parents, she grew up with Steve and would go over their house often, but when everything changed, she barely saw them.
"Sit up straight," Steve's father warned, but Steve ignored him, looking back at Lexi.
She was grounding herself.
"You okay?" He whispered as she nodded.
His shoulder shifted closer, a silent shield.
When Victoria appeared, everyone stood.
"You look lovely Lexi" His mother whispered to her, "That colour looks beautiful on you"
"Thank you Mrs Harrington" Lexi whispered back.
Lexi could feel Steve looking at her.
Lexi's eyes flicked to his, just for a second.
Something between them- unspoken.
Steve's hand hovered at his side.
So close to hers.
Lexi took his hand in hers, both of their hearts were pounding, neither of them pulling away.
They stood there until they were told to once again sit.
The ceremony ended to applause, with confetti being thrown.
Guests filtered towards the reception hall, chatter rising once again.
Lexi excused herself to find the restroom, brushing Steve's arm as she passed.
James and his mother and father walking over to them.
His mother immediately followed Lexi to the bathroom, making sure she was okay, she knew what the Harrington family could be like.
"Son" Mr Harrington began, "James told me about last night" He looked at his sons annoyed.
"You are letting yourself be distracted, this is a weekend for family"
"She's not a distraction" Steve crossed his arms annoyed.
"She is not what we are used to" His fathers gazed sharpened.
"And maybe that's your problem" Steve leaned in, talking quietly.
Lexi and Mrs Harrington walked back over to the men in the family.
"Oh enough, this is a wedding" She warned her husband
He scoffed before walking away.
Steve exhaled annoyed before turning back to Lexi.
"You okay?" She asked as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, her fully leaning into his body.
"Yeah... better now" He kissed her head.
The evening was full of music, glasses being clinked.
Mr Harrington had managed to finally get Lexi alone.
"So, Lexi, are you still in Hawkins?" He asked, "I heard about your father, my condolences" He nodded as he took a sip of his drink.
"Thank you, and yeah, we are still in Hawkins" She asked knowing that he would really have no idea considering he is away more than he is home.
"Small town, limited opportunities though, you and Steve..."
"Define limited opportunities sir" Lexi looked up at him.
Before he could respond, Steve appeared at her side.
"Steven"
Steve placed a hand at Lexi's back, protectively.
"We are not doing this, I am not letting you do this" Steve snapped.
"You are choosing her over-"
"I'm choosing respect, clearly I never learned that from you"
Mrs Harrington walked over, placing her hand on Lexi's arm.
"Would you like to dance dear, I think Steven does" She smiled with a wink.
"I would," Lexi smiled, laughing softly.
Steve shot his mother a look-gratitude mixed with disbelief.
I wanna know what love is by Foreigner came on.
Steve took her hand in his as they walked to the dance floor, the weight of peoples eyes on them.
But he didn't care.
"Just ignore them" Lexi told him as others joined them on the floor.
"I'm trying" He told her as he gripped her waist.
"You have nothing to prove to them, it's just you and me" She reminded him as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
They slowly moved to the music.
"You okay?" He asked her.
"Yeah, better with you here" She smiled as he pulled her close.
Her fingers tightened on his shoulder.
Not a kiss.
Not yet.
Steve and Lexi left the dance floor with a smile.
Lexi went to get them both a drink as Steve walked to his mother.
"You are in deep" She told her son, straightening out his jacket.
"Yeah" He exhaled.
"You also look terrified" She smiled"
He huffed.
"Good, it means it matters" She smiled
"It's more complicated than that mom" He admitted as he leaned into his seat.
"It's going to be if she really means that much" His mother gave him a kiss on the head before leaving to find her husband.
Steve stood, walking to the balcony outside to quickly sneak a cigarette.
Lexi saw him, going to join him only to get stopped.
"Running away already?"
James.
She didn't turn.
"Just going to see Steve"
"You handled yourself well, graceful under pressure" He smiled.
"If that's your apology, you can be clearer" She faced him.
"I misjudged you Lexi" James hesitated.
"Yeah...yeah you did" She smirked before turning away once again, walking out to Steve.
"Hey no fair, share" She laughed as she ran to his side, stealing the cigarette from his lips, puffing on the stick of tobacco.
"You okay?" He asked her as she nodded.
"I didn't mean to leave you in there with him...them" Steve sighed as she handed him back the cigarette.
"I can handle them, but I know you don't want me to" Lexi sighed as they looked at one another.
"Shall we head to bed?" Steve asked as Lexi nodded, he took her hand in his, kissing it gently before making a quick exit before anyone could notice.
They headed into the room.
The two of them stared at one another.
"I'm going to go and have a shower, I need to wash the day off..." Lexi began as Steve nodded, hands on his hips.
"Okay" He nodded looking at her.
"You wanna join me?" She asked, looking at him as he looked at her as she disappeared into the bathroom
The light was low, warm against the tile, steam already curling in the air as the shower ran.
Lexi stepped under the water, exhaling as it hit her.
A moment later she felt Steve's presence behind her.
Not touching.
Just there.
The space between them was intentional-respectful-but close enough that she could feel his warmth through the steam.
"You don't have to stand guard, you know?" She laughed under her breath.
"Habit" He huffed a breath.
"Is this okay?" He asked quietly, moving the hair off of her shoulder.
She nodded, eyes still closed as he kissed her shoulder.
She turned to look at him, looking up into his deep eyes.
"Want me to shampoo your hair, Harrington?" She smiled up at him as he nodded.
She grabbed the shampoo, placing it into her hands before reaching up and sliding her fingers into his hair, slow and deliberate.
He exhaled sharply when she finally touched him, her hands moved carefully.
Steve closed his eyes.
"I don't know how you stayed so calm, after everything" Steve murmured
"I'm not calm, but I just don't want to be anything else tonight" She admitted, leaning closer.
She rinsed the shampoo out, looking up at him, noticing that the space between them had shrank
"Tell me if I cross the line" He said quietly.
"You won't" She replied.
His touch was steady but restrained as he ran the soap over her body.
The air felt heavier.
"This is harder than I thought" His voice dropped.
"What is?" She asked.
"Not pulling you closer, not pretending"
Her heart pounded.
Lexi lifted her hand, placing it against his chest, light and deliberate.
His heart was beating fast and unsteady.
"I'm right here" She whispered.
"I don't want to rush this, I can't," He admitted.
"It's okay, you won't, and you're not" She replied.
They stayed silent, foreheads touching, water cascading around them, hands resting where they were barely allowed, the tension almost unbearable,
When they finally stepped out, Steve wrapped a towel around her, then himself.
Nothing had happened, yet everything had
This kind of closeness left them both quiet and shaken, and painfully aware that whatever it was, was getting harder.Â

THESE NEXT TWO CHAPTERS MIGHT BE MY FAVOURITEÂ
THE NEXT TWO ARE ALSO MOSTLY ABOUT STEVE SO IF YOU ARE TEAM EDDIE THEY MIGHT BE A BIT BORING FOR YOU SORRY, BUT EDDIE HAS HIS OWN COMING UP SOON:)
The next day, Steve was over early to pick up Lexi for the wedding- well, early for Steve, meaning late by about 15 minutes.
"Morning gorgeous" Steve said with a smug grin, looking at Eddie then back at Lexi.
"Morning big boy" Eddie shot back, batting his lashes, making Steve look at him annoyed, causing Eddie to let you an actual giggle-which made Lexi choke back a laugh.
Lexi laughed to herself as she watched the two interact.
"How long till we are ready to go?" Steve asked, almost stressed, knowing he was behind schedule as Eddie walked over to them.
"I'm ready" She smiled, looking between the two idiots.
"I have to ask, how long does it take you to get ready in the mornings Harrington? You were meant to be here 15 minutes ago" Eddie asked as Lexi rolled her eyes, sighing heavily before sliding into the car before the petty argument between them escalated.
"What are you on about?" Steve crossed his arms.
Eddie pointed quickly at Steve's hair. "Like your hair, you know you have more product in there than Lexi might have seen in her lifetime," Eddie laughed, hands on his hips.
"Ha. Ha" Steve rolled his eyes. "At least mine knows what the product is, yours probably hasn't even seen shampoo since what, you were 12?" Steve smirked, looking down where Lexi was last standing to see her gone. A disappointed frown on his face as he looked around for her.
"How'd she do that?" Steve muttered, genuinely confused how she managed to sneak away that quietly.
Eddie saw Lexi in the car already, sending her a wink like they were in cahoots.
"Are you two DONE?" She yelled from the car.
"One more thing, my hair...it's the perfect rock and roll star hair, Slash, Van Halen, all of them, hair like this, you...your hair looks more like your auditioning for the fourth Charlies Angel" He laughed.
"Come on man" Steve gasped, "My hair looks great" Steve smiled
"You have enough gel in there to waterproof a boat" Eddie laughed.
"You look like your hair lost in a fight with a raccoon," Steve snapped back.
"Steve we are going to be late and the wedding is TOMORROW, can you two either make out or GET IN THE CAR, I really don't care at this point" Lexi yelled making the two of them take a step away from one another like she had thrown water between them.
"I'd rather eat shit" Eddie laughed as Steve sighed
"I'd rather drink expired milk" Steve looked at him
"SHUT UP!" Lexi begged.
Eddie leaned into the window placing a kiss on Lexi's lips, slow and smug just to get under Steve's skin.
"Good luck with him, baby. Have fun" Eddie said with a wink
"Thanks for winding him up for me," Lexi laughed.
"I can hear you," Steve scoffed.
"Drive carefully, you have precious cargo" Eddie warned Steve.
"Like I would drive like a dick with Lex in the car" Steve started the engine as he passed her a cassette tape, "Made for you" Steve smiled as he sent Eddie the smuggest look known to man.
Eddie gave him a silent 'I hate you' face as Steve smirked.
"Goodbye Eddie" Lexi smiled, blowing him a kiss as Steve drove out of the trailer park.
"Proud of yourself?" Lexi asked Steve as he watched Eddie get smaller and smaller behind them.
"Extremely" Steve smiled at her as she placed the tape into the player, her favourite songs playing.
The car journey was full of music humming through the speakers, conversation and even a quick nap for Lexi.
She woke up with around thirty minutes left of the journey.
Steve's hand was resting on her thigh, like it had been there the entire time, he glazed over when she stirred, looking back to the road with a smile.
"So..." Her voice still sleepy, "I have a question"
"Steve smiled, "That sounds dangerous" He laughed, "Ask away"
"How come it took you so long to admit you had feelings for me, like how long had you had them?" She asked, Steve having to take a deep breath.
Steve inhaled deeply, fingers flexing against her leg before he forced himself to relax.
"Honestly?" Steve began, "I think I always have, I just didn't know what to do with it" He paused, "You mattered too much"
Lexi looked at him, fully focused, chest tightening.
"I didn't want to be the guy who ruined everything, so I stayed quiet, pretended those feelings weren't really there, turns out ignoring them and becoming a dick doesn't make them go away" He looked at her apologetically. "When we made up, those feelings came back stronger, but I was already with Nancy, so I kept telling myself that being with Nancy meant something, but she knew before me" Steve let out a breath.
"What do you mean, know what?" She asked Steve, turning to look at him.
"That I was lying to myself" Steve glanced at her, "She thought...whatever it was I felt for her, it was smaller than what I felt for you. She never said anything cruel, just honest. And once she said it I couldn't get it out of my head, Every time you walked into a room, everything else was just in the distance, it was just you"
Lexi sat there in a shocked silence. His thumb rubbing her knuckles as she reached for his hand.
"And I guess she was right, the moment I saw you play on that stage, and the moment I realised that you were earth's most beautiful woman, I panicked when Eddie was so upfront about liking you, I knew I had to go in, and now we are where we are" Steve laughed as he kissed her hand.
Lexi smiled at him as he showed such vulnerability.
She leaned over and placed a kiss on his cheek, lingering it there until Steve's breath hitched.
"What about you?" Steve asked Lexi with a raised brow.
She sat there with a smile.
"The exact moment I realised I like you, more than I wished to admit was when you were willing to put your king Steve ego to rest and be the person I've always cared about" Lexi played with the hair at the nape of his neck.
"Or really? So you climbed in my window that evening for a reason" He smiled lightly
"Oh no, I wanted to beat your ass again" She laughed, making Steve roll his eyes. "But when I saw you there, I saw who I grew up with, I saw the person who I trusted enough to lose my virginity to, saw the person who was always my rock, and if it wasn't for you being so in love with Nancy at the time...things might have gone differently" Lexi smiled as Steve looked at her shocked.
"So if there was no Eddie?"
"Probably would have already crossed that line" Lexi rested her head on the chair. "But that's not me choosing you, I still really like Eddie also, that's as real as this"
"I know" Steve sighed, "I know"
They sat in silence, not uncomfortable, just heavy with everything they wanted to say but weren't ready to.
Steve's hand found hers again, lacing naturally, like they'd done it millions of times before, neither of them pulling away.
They finally arrived at the wedding venue.
The drive up to the hotel felt unreal, a long winding path cutting through bare trees, their branches arching like something out of a fairytale. At the end of the path sat a hotel, elegant, almost intimidating.
"Holy shit" Lexi laughed as she looked up at the building.
The windows must have been Victorian, the ivy leaves perfectly placed where it covered some of the stone.
"Wow" Lexi looked at Steve who parked up, pulling the handbrake on before looking at the building itself.
It was given that the venue was beautiful, but he knew that his family inside, the personality of his family Lexi was about to endure, was ugly.
"Look, if they upset you at any point, we will go, tell me if my brother is an asshole"
"Wait, you're brother?" Lexi almost forgot that Steve had a brother, they had a large age gap.
Steve was 18, his brother was almost 30.
His brother the last Lexi heard was living in California, married with a baby on the way, he had his own car dealership and was making a lot of money, his parents couldn't be more proud.
"Yeah, and he is currently going through a divorce so he is an extra asshole recently, just glad he doesn't live in Hawkins anymore" Steve rolled his eyes.
"Okay, look. Same goes to you, you're upset, we go. I'll kick any of their asses to make you happy"
"Don't say things like that to me, it does something to me" Steve laughed as Lexi giggled, he leaned over the console and finally kissed her, just like he wanted the whole car journey up.
It wasn't rushed or desperate, it was intentional, grounding.
Lexi smiled into the kiss as she dragged him closer by his hair.
"Okay, let's do this shit" Steve smiled before getting out the car, running around and letting her out the car, grabbing their luggage and walking into the main reception, Steve's hand in hers as they dragged their suitcases up the cobbled path.
Steve checked in and so far, no Harringtons to be seen, so they headed up to their room with no worries or interruptions, allowing the two of them to get changed and ready to greet everyone at the rehearsal dinner.
Steve changed into a pair of grey trousers, a crisp white shirt to tuck into them and a grey tie to match, he wandered into the bathroom to sort out his hair as Lexi grabbed her dress that Steve had bought for her.
The dress was red silk-deep, rich and soft to the touch. It draped over her body perfectly, the fabric crossing elegantly across her torso and falling all the way to the floor. It hugged her just enough to be dangerous.
She placed her hair in a half up half down style with her rings and earrings on like normal.
She didn't do much make up, not wanting to look too desperate to impress, keeping it to her normal every day look.
Steve walked out, doing the buttons on his cuffs, not even looking up at Lexi.
"What do you think?" She asked as she did a slow spin.
To say that Steve's jaw was on the floor was an understatement.
"Holy fucking shit" Steve blabbed.
Lexi giggled to herself as he walked over to her, taking her hips in his hands.
"You look incredible, like always" Steve leaned down, placing his lips on hers as she hummed into his touch.
The kiss began to get deeper, hands were beginning to roam when there was a knock on the door.
"Damn it" Steve sighed as he walked to the door.
Lexi blushed hard, she knew where this weekend was going, and because of the new rule being that there were no rules, it got her more excited than she wished to admit.
"Just to let you know that the bride and groom are ready for everyone to meet in the restaurant for pre-drinks before the meal" The hotel worker told Steve.
"Okay, thanks" Steve nodded as the man walked away.
"Let's get going, because if we don't go now, I won't be letting you leave this room" Steve reached his hand out which she happily took.
"We better hurry then" She teased.
Steve squeezed her hand as they headed for the door, the two of them already knowing this weekend was going to test every ounce of self-control that they had.
They walked into the restaurant, and to say it fell quiet may be an understatement.
It wasn't a dramatic silence, but it was enough, enough for Lexi to feel it in the way the conversation stuttered, in a way where eyes lingered too long.
Steve felt it too.
His grip tightened on her hand as they stepped in further, his body angling just slightly towards her, not in an obsessive way, just protective.
"Right this way" A server said brightly, leading them towards the reserved section of the room.
"Is it me or are we being stared at?" Lexi leaned in, whispering into Steve.
Steve let out a quiet huff, "Yeah, welcome to the family"
Their table came into view, long, elegant and already full of people.
"Steven!" A woman said, with surprise in her voice, and just like that everyone's eyes snapped in their direction.
"Hey" Steve smiled as his Aunt walked over to him.
Big brown hair, dark brown eyes, a big smile, they looked more like siblings
"Hey Aunty," Steve smiled, hugging her tightly. "This is my girlfriend I was telling you about, Lexi" Steve introduced as he turned to face her.
"Oh aren't you just an angel? I'm Victoria, Steve's only cool family member" She looked at Lexi, giving her a hug.
"Thank you for allowing Steve to bring me along, it's lovely to meet you" Lexi smiled as her hand fell back into Steve.
"Steven, this is my fiancĂŠÂ Teddy" She smiled, turning to her partner, the two of them shaking hands.
"Nice to meet you" Steve smiled, "Sorry, where are mom and dad?" Steve asked as he looked for his parents.
"Late" She rolled her eyes. "Their flight was delayed, they will be here later tonight" She smiled.
Then a man stood.
Tall. Immaculate suit.
A smile that didn't quite reach his eyes.
Lexi recognised him immediately.
"There he is, my little brother"
Steve's jaw tightened.
"Hello James" Steve replied, tone neutral.
The man stepped closer, gaze flicking to Lexi.
"And correct me if I am wrong, but Lexi Jones, is that you?" He smiled, looking over her body.
"Yeah" She nodded. "Long time no see" She tried to be polite.
"Of course, knew I recognised you"
Steve's grip tightened.
"You definitely grew up" James' eyes raked her body.
"Well she was about 10 last time you saw her" Steve interrupted.
"Relax, I'm just saying, Hawkins isn't exactly made of beautiful women..."
Lexi felt the tension spike.
"Well, it was nice to see you again James, but we should probably find our seats and get a drink, right baby?" Lexi asked Steve as his eyes hadn't left his brothers.
"Yeah, come on," Steve agreed as they walked away.
Steve found their seats, pulling out her chair before she could reach it, blocking James' line of sight for a second longer than necessary.
"Drink?" Steve leaned down and asked her.
"Yes please" She smiled, Steve looked around to flag down a server when he caught two women across the table from Lexi whispering to one another, eyes flickering towards her dress, her tattoos and her rings.
Steve noticed, when Lexi didn't.
Without saying a word he placed his hand on her shoulder, sending them a silent message.
Don't.
"So..." James walked back over to them. "How long have you two been dating?" James asked.
"Long enough" Steve didn't even hesitate.
"Funny that we spoke not that long ago and you never said anything" James questioned.
"I don't mention most things that matter to me, especially to you"
That caught a few peoples attention as Steve finally called the waiter over, ordering both Lexi and himself a vodka and lemonade, not caring that neither of them were 21.
Steve finally took a seat beside her, giving James the message to go away. Lexi felt Steve's knee brush hers under the table, intentionally. She leaned into him, and he refused to move as his arm wrapped around her back.
Everyone at the table watched as James looked defeated, finally the meal arrived.
The meal was simple, a few toasts, a few laughs, a lot of wine and a lot of looks.
Lexi didn't even realise how tightly she'd been holding herself together until the bathroom door clicked shut behind her.
She gripped the edge of the sink, breathing out slowly, shoulders dropping.
"Okay" She whispered to herself.
A knock came a moment later.
"Lexi?" It was Steve.
She quickly unlocked the door before she could over think it, allowing him to quickly slide inside.
"Sorry, I just needed a minute, they are a lot" She sighed as he rubbed her shoulders.
"Hey, you don't owe them anything, not a smile, or politeness, don't be anyone you aren't" Steve reassured her.
Steve's hand brushed her gently under the chin, forcing him to look at her.
"You didn't do anything wrong okay, my brother is going to end up with a black eye in a minute though" Steve 's jaw clenched. "Just remember, I am there, you are not on your own" Steve reminded her.
"Thank you" She smiled, looking up at him.
He pressed a kiss into her hair. "Always"
The two of them quickly left the bathroom, hand in hand they went back to the restaurant.
"I wondered where you went!" Victoria smiled as she grabbed Lexi's other hand, "I want to get to know the lovely lady who has stolen my nephews heart" She smiled as she dragged her away from Steve.
Steve watched her from a distance, making sure that he would swoop in any moment she showed any discomfort.
But the second he saw his brother walk over, he almost ran to her side.
"So you are in a band, that's so cool, what sort of music?" Victoria asked. "Rock?" She guessed with a smile as Lexi nodded.
"Yeah, rock," She smiled. "I'm the lead singer" She smiled proudly as Steve wrapped an arm around her.
"Really she is amazing" Steve smiled as he looked down at her.
"Aw, you two are really sweet," Victoria smiled.
"You know, I was trying to place your last name earlier" James interrupted. "Jones, I remember your father, how is he?" He asked, cocking his head.
Lexi took a shaky breath.
"I lost him last month" She looked to the floor as Steve's family looked at her sadly, all except James.
"Sorry to hear that, he was a nice guy...well" He gave a small shrug " Hawkins was rough on some people, he always seemed...scattered, he had a drug issue right? And a lot of you kids, different mothers, must have been a lot for you. I do admire how you turned out so...functional all things considered." He took a sip of his whisky.
Steve felt Lexi tense under his touch.
"I always worried about Steve, and growing up with that kind of instability. It really sticks with you, shapes your expectations I guess' He turned to look at Steve, Lexi's eyes finally coming off of the ground. "I'm just looking out for you, you have to be careful and start to distance yourself from...complications"
A few people shifted uncomfortably.
"James-enough," Steve warned.
Steve's aunt stopped mid sip.
"I'm not trying to insult anyone, I am just being realistic Steven. People have different upbringings, and Lexi-" He smiled condescending. "Well, this world can be intimidating when you aren't used to it" He looked around, meaning this world..the rich world
That did it.
Lexi didn't pull her hand away from Steves, she simply smiled, not sharp, not fake, just calmly smiled.
"Can I clarify something?" She asked softly.
James nodded happily, "Of course"
"You keep saying you're protecting Steve, but what you are really doing is insulting us both" Everyone went silent. "You are implying I am a liability because I didn't grow up wealthy, and Steve is somehow fragile enough to be defined by the people around him rather than the choices he makes?"
James opened his mouth.
But she didn't let him speak.
"My father struggled, it's true, he was no angel, but in one way, I supposed he forced me to be the best person I could be for my siblings, I worked two jobs, I learned to budget, how to cook for four people, how to carry a crying baby at three in the morning before a chemistry exam"
Steve stared at her, heart pounding.
"I didn't grow up with money, but I grew up with responsibility, with empathy and understanding"
James shifted where he stood.
"And Steve.." She turned towards him before looking back at James. "Didn't succeed despite where he came from"
Steve's breath caught as he looked into her eyes.
"He succeeded because he learned to protect people without being asked. He chose loyalty over convenience, because when things get hard, he steps up, instead of looking for someone to blame"
James went to speak but again she wouldn't let him.
"You are not defending him, you are diminishing him, and you are using my childhood to do it"
She paused.
"And if you really believe that wealth equals worth, then I understand why you are confused by us"
Vicky laughed into her glass.
"Well, that was the best thing said all night."
"I hope that clears things up" Lexi snapped as Steve grabbed her hand, not to steady her, but to ground himself.
Because in that moment, watching Lexi stand tall and defend them both, and do it without cruelty?
He knew one thing.
Whatever this was between them was not casual or temporary, he was in far too deep, and the thought of losing her now...terrified him.
Another hour or so passed and people were turning in for the night.
More and more people began to talk to Lexi, loving the way she shut down James' ego.
"Hey honey" Steve walked over to Lexi as she yawned for the 4th time in 5 minutes. "Why don't you go and get ready for bed, I'll grab us some water and I'll be up" He smiled as she nodded.
"Okay" She yawned once again before taking the key off of Steve and walking to the room.
Steve waited at the bar for his brother.
Finally he came into view.
"James, outside" Steve said calmly.
"If this is about earlier..."
"Now"
Something in Steve's voice made James follow without question.
Steve didn't waste any time.
"You do not get to talk about her like that" He said.
"I wasn't attacking her, I was explaining context, you are too close to see it" James crossed his arms.
"You called her childhood a liability, you bought up her fathers addictions, her siblings like it was poison. You were being cruel and pretending it was a concern" Steve insisted.
"She turned out fine, I even said that" James scoffed.
Steve stepped closer.
"You don't get credit for being impressed by someone surviving the hell she went through, especially when you've never had to struggle" Steve said quietly.
"I was protecting you, you've worked hard to get where you are, I won't watch you through it away over-"
"Over what?" Steve cut in sharply. "A woman who took care of three children before she was an adult herself, who stood between me and a grown ass man who could've killed her? Who just humiliated you without even raising her voice?"
"Talk about her like that again, I will walk and I will never ever look back"
The silence stretched.
"You're overreacting" James exhaled shapely.
Steve leaned in enough that James had to look up at him.
"No, this is me under-reacting, because she is not here to hear what I actually think of you"
James swallowed.
Steve stood straight, smoothing out his shirt like nothing happened
"Apologise to her tomorrow, not to make yourself feel better, but because she deserves it"
He turned towards the door, pausing.
"And for the record, if you insult me again by calling my loyalty a weakness, I won't be this calm"
Then he walked inside.
Back to get her and Lexi some water.
Back to the room where Lexi laid asleep in her dress as she got too tired to wait for him.
He smiled to himself as he gently pulled off her heels, took out her earrings and covered her with the duvet.
He got into his boxers before crawling in besides her, wrapping his arm tightly around the most important thing in his life.Â

The following weeks were slow, there wasn't much going on in Lexi's life except from shopping with Steve for the wedding.
Hanging out with Eddie as much as she could, parts of her feeling guilty about going to the wedding despite him being absolutely 100% okay with it.
Lexi spent every spare minute she had with Lucy, Nikki and the boys.
Dean and Betty had been trying to solve the Opal issue, Lexi making it clear she did not want to get involved.
Currently she sat at Hopper's house, waiting for El to come back from spending time with the other kids so they could be honest with her about Lexi being Hopper's real daughter.
Eddie sat with them, knowing she needed the support.
"Hey so can I ask, when all of this blows over, can you have a word with El and about how much time she is spending with Mike please" Hopper sheepishly asked as Lexi looked at him confused.
"What do you mean?" She almost laughed.
"Well, they are her room, all the time, kissing and...it's just not right" Hopper explained, making Eddie laugh under his breath.
"Uh, no." Lexi shook her head.
"What? Why? Come on, didn't you have to do that with Iaan and Nikki?"
"What a kid, telling other kids on sex ed?" She laughed
"No not sex ed, oh my god, should I be telling her about that?"
"Considering she doesn't go to school, probably" Eddie butted in, making Hopper's head fall into his hands.
"No I can't," Hopper sighed loudly. "Please"
"She won't want any advice from me okay"
"Why? Wait, how old were you.."
"I am not having this conversation now" Lexi looked at him with a warning face.
"Oh come on" Hopper ignored the looks.
"I was 15" She shrugged
"Oh, wait, did you lose it to Jonathan?" Hopper asked intrigued.
Lexi rubbed her head.
"Come on Lex, can't be that bad" Eddie looked at her worried.
"You don't want to know that answer" Lexi looked at him as he began to connect the dots
"STEVE?" Eddie yelled, making her jump.
"You lost it to Steve?" Hopper got involved.
"Enough, please" Lexi looked between them.
"Were you ever going to tell me that you've had sex with Steve before?" Eddie asked annoyed
Shit.
"Eddie, not now, not when my recently found biological dad is sitting there okay" Lexi begged.
"You know you are going to that wedding with him, you might end up sleeping with him again you know?" Eddie continued, "All the romance and alcohol, am I giving you a pass?" Eddie asked himself more than anything.
"Eddie!" Lexi snapped as they both looked at Hopper who was extremely confused.
Eddie took a deep breath, "I'm going for a smoke" He stood excusing himself as El walked through the door.
"Hi?" She looked at the two of them confused, walking over and taking a seat.
"El" Hopper smiled at his adopted daughter. "We need to tell you something" Hopper began as he looked at Lexi who took a deep breath.
"Lexi is my sister" El smiled as the two of them looked at one another.
"How'd-" Lexi began, "Nikki?"
El nodded.
"He was excited. Happy. That we were family" El explained as Lexi's heart almost exploded.
"Is that okay?" Lexi asked her as she nodded.
"We are all family" El smiled as Hopper looked at the two girls besides him.
"I'm going to make it my priority to take care of you both, in any way you need, Lexi, you are always welcome here, El you can spend time with Lexi, we can do things together" Hopper smiled.
"Yeah, always," Lexi smiled at El.
Lexi looked between her father and her adopted sister, feeling a part of her healing.
But then she remembered Eddie was outside, probably on his third cigarette.
"Look, we will sort something out soon, maybe a girls night or something, you can invite Max too if you like" Lexi asked El as she nodded happily.
"Okay" El smiled.
"I'm going to go and sort out this issue I have outside, I'll see you guys soon" She looked at them one more time before sharing a goodbye, walking outside to see Eddie sat with her back to her.
"Are we going to talk about it?" Lexi began as she watched him shake his head. "You seriously cannot be that pissed right?"
"Really?" Eddie rolled his eyes as she took a seat beside him. "You and Steve have had sex"
"I wouldn't count it Eds" Lexi sighed. "We both liked other people, we both wanted to sleep with other people, we just lost it to one another so when we wanted to actually sleep with the people we wanted to, we wouldn't be shit"
"Doesn't make me feel better Lex"
"And what would? Us sleeping together? Even the playing field?" Lexi sarcastically sighed as Eddie looked at her with a raised brow.
"Well.."
"Eddie!" She hit his shoulder
"Oh come on!" Eddie stood.
"I think we have to revisit the rules" Eddie thought.
"You want to put sex on the table?" Lexi asked, "That will make this more difficult!"
"Well then you need to make a decision, sooner rather than later" Eddie looked at her in all seriousness.
"Eddie..."
"What?" He snapped, she had never seen him so angry.
"I can't make a decision yet" Lexi explained as he heaved.
"Why not? Is it really that hard?"
"Yes!" She yelled, standing up.
"Clearly, we need to talk to Harrington, let's go and pay him a visit shall we?" Eddie doesn't ask, he demands, walking to his van, Lexi has no choice but to follow him and get in the van, driving to the house of the Harrington's.
Thankfully, like normal, Steve's parents were away, meaning Eddie just waltzed right in.
"Steve!" Eddie yelled as Steve ran down the stairs.
"What the hell Munson?" Steve looked at him and Lexi who looked apologetic.
"We need to talk" Eddie smiled as he took a seat on the kitchen island, Lexi taking a seat beside him, Steve walking around to face the two of them.
"We need to reconsider some of the rules of this relationship" Eddie began waving his arms around like an idiot.
The air in the room was thick.
Steve looked between Lexi and Eddie, waiting for the bomb to drop.
"You found out?" Steve began, "Look-"
"Nope, for once let me talk Harrington" Eddie silenced him making Steve look at him annoyed. "I am not pissed because you slept together a long time ago, I am pissed because neither of you told me" Eddie looked between them.
"Look man, we didn't think it was relevant" Steve defended as Lexi sat there in her own world listening to the two of them argue. "She didn't do it to hurt you"
"I know, I know that. But it's not a nice feeling Harrington, finding out that the girl your obsessed with has already slept with the guy that has the other half of her heart" Eddie sighed
"Look, we need to reconsider...we need to stop pretending that we are delusional"
"What are you suggesting?" Steve asked, standing up straight.
"We get rid of the one rule" Eddie looked at Lexi.
"Eddie..." Lexi's breath caught as she spoke.
"We forget about what happened between you both 2 years ago, and we stop pretending that we are all saints" Eddie argued.
Steve looked at Eddie.
"We stop pretending that the lines have almost been crossed" Eddie looked at Lexi who looked almost guilty. "Because I don't know about you Harrington, but we have stopped what we are doing to protect your feelings, and I'm thinking you've done the same"
"He's not wrong Lex" Steve looked at her and then Eddie.
"It's not about competing, or having the upper hand on one another, it's about us, and our feelings" Steve shrugged
"But what if it causes it to get ugly?" Lexi asked as she looked between the two of them.
"If we all agree to this rule, it's not to get the advantage."
"No getting territorial," Eddie added.
"No pressure, no expectations" Steve nodded.
"You both want this?" The two of them shared a look.
They both nodded.
"Only if you do," Steve asked as Eddie looked at her.
"Promise me that this isn't going to make this worse" Lexi asked
"We can't promise you that, but I can promise that we are open about it, no more secrets no more rules" Steve nodded as Eddie took her hand in his.
"This isn't about rushing into things, this is about not pretending anymore," Eddie explained as Lexi took a deep breath.
"Fine, we get rid of the rule" Lexi looked between the two of them as they nodded in agreement.
Here is Part 2!!

The clock hit 11:59, Lexi stood on the stage with a beer in her hand.
"60 seconds!" She smiled as everyone gathered with their friends and family.
Eddie, Steve and Lexi agreed there will be no new years kiss, she wouldn't be doing that, instead she simply just wanted to be there with them at the same time.
"Everyone go to your friends and families, hold them close, and let the countdown to 1985 begin!" She smiled as she placed her guitar on it's stand, running over to her family, Eddie and the band not far behind, there parents joining them
Lexi ran to Dean and Nikki with Iaan.
Her friends gathered around them
"10...9...8" They began to countdown.
Steve and Eddie both looked at Lexi as they all surrounded her.
"5...4...3...2...1! HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Everyone screamed, Lexi shared hugs with everyone.
"Here is too a happy new year, may it be the best we have had in the last few" Joyce smiled looking at everyone.
Lexi walked over to Steve and Eddie.
"Happy New Year boys" She smiled.
"Happy new year princess" Eddie winked.
"Happy new year babe" Steve smiled as they cheers their beers.
A week later...
Lexi laid in Eddies bed after spending the night there, they spoke about their band and what they wanna do for the new year ahead of them.
They also practised on the tattoo machine, not actually tattooing each other yet...but Eddie had done it before and really wanted to do it
They talked about their tattoos also.
"How many do you have?" Lexi asked as she laid on his chest, looking into his brown puppy eyes.
"Umm" He thought for a second. "5?" He nodded as he played with her hair. "You?"
She thought for a moment.
"3" She nodded as he looked at her confused.
"I know this one" He grabbed her hand, looking at the alien on her middle finger.
"Yeah, that's the only one you can see without me being naked" She laughed as he flopped his head back into the pillow.
"You mean you have two hidden tattoos" He smirked, looking up at the ceiling.
She laughed as she looked down into his eyes.
"Hmm, maybe you'll be lucky enough one day" She laughed as he rolled her over.
"Seriously Jones, are you trying to kill me" He hovered above her.
"That could be a song you know" Lexi thought.
"I love your brain" Eddie leaned down before kissing her, pushing her further into the mattress.
The phone then went off in the living room.
"Ughhhhhh!!!!!" Eddie yelled looking over to the door.
"Do not disturb right?" She laughed as he kissed her again before rolling off her and jogging to the kitchen, grabbing the phone just in time.
"Harrington, you have great timing" Eddie sighed as Steve verbally rolled his eyes.
"Sorry Munson, I thought you and Lex might want some good news" Steve smiled
"You're giving up? Letting me have her?" Eddie laughed making Steve shush him.
"Fat chance Munson, anyway, no, it's about your new years performance, can I come over? Say in like twenty minutes?" He asked as Munson looked at the clock.
"It's 8 in the morning Harrington, make it an hour"
"See you in thirty" He ended the phone making Eddie grip the phone annoyed before slamming it down.
"Eds?" Lexi called out from his room.
"Coming" Eddie skipped back to his room before jumping back on the bed, kissing Lexi immediately, wasting no time at all.
"Hey" She giggled between kisses. "Who was that"
"Steve, he's coming over soon" Eddie kissed her neck, holding her hands in his.
"Why?" She questioned.
"Something about our performance new years?" Eddie looked up at her. "Tell me where one of them are" Eddie asked as she giggled.
"Not yet Munson" she laughed, looking up at him.
"You're so pretty" Eddie admired as she blushed.
"So are you" She reached up to kiss his lips once again as he held her there for a moment.
"Better get ready if King Steve is on his way" Eddie rolled his eyes.
"Probably" She sighed as they both reluctantly got out of bed and got ready.
There was a knock at the trailer food at 08:41 exactly.
"Munson" Steve smiled as Eddie opened the door.
"This better be good" Eddie sighed as he let him inside. "Coffee?" He asked as Steve politely declined.
"Steve" Lexi smiled as she walked out of Eddie's room.
A hickey on her neck, that she hadn't noticed yet...
Eddie smirked into his mug as he took a sip of coffee, Steve looking at Eddie annoyed before smiling at Lexi.
"Hey honey" He nodded. "Okay, so..." He looked at the two of them. "Someone that was at the New Years Bash called Jonathan who then called me, they want to speak to you both about entering a competition , it's a battle of the bands" Steve explained as they both looked at one another excitedly.
"Really?" She smiled as they both listened to everything Steve had to say.
"They want to enter you into the competition, the audition is in a few weeks at the school, and then you have four days, six songs and a bunch of competition." Steve explained.
"And what do we get if we win?" Lexi asked.
"So not only will you get a six song record, you will get ten-thousand dollars" He smiled as their eyes lit up.
"Holy shit" Eddie smiled looking at Lexi.Â
"This is insane" She laughed, looking between the two of them.
"I can't believe this" Lexi jumped for joy, hugging Eddie and then hugging Steve.
"I'm going to call the others, let them know the good news." Eddie laughed as he ran to the phone.
"This is so cool" Lexi looked at Steve before catching her reflection in the mirror.
"Eddie Munson!" She yelled as she covered her hickey with her hand, Eddie simply looked back at her with a smile as Steve stood with his hands on his hips.
"Sorry" Lexi smiled awkwardly, but Steve melted when he looked at her, he didn't really care, he will just make sure to get his own back.
After the morning, Steve left to insure that he was ready for taking Lexi out on a date that evening.
She left Eddie's trailer and headed home, surprised to see a woman on her doorstep.
"Can I help you?" She asked as she walked to her trailer.
"Lexi Jones, or should I say Alexis Hopper?" The woman smiled as she finally clocked who was sat in front of her.
"Right, I remember you. Come to get your money now have you?" Lexi crossed her arms.
"Yeah, I was his wife...remember"
"For 3 days before he killed himself" Lexi rolled her eyes.
"Wow, I can see why he took those drugs." She looked Lexi up and down.
"Are you knocked up or something? Are you here to warn me about leaving a baby here or something, because if you aren't please come back with a lawyer if you want this money" Lexi warned.
"Oh I will be sweetheart, dont you worry about that" She winked before getting in her car and leaving Lexi's trailer.
Lexi watched her leave before entering her trailer, slamming the door behind her, she was fuming.
She got herself some food, relaxed, then began to get ready for her date with Steve.
Lexi grabbed her mix tape of favourite songs, putting it into the stereo and hitting play, taking it into the shower with her.
She say along to the music as she washed her hair, shaved her legs and smothered her body in vanilla soap, knowing it was Steve's favourite.
Lexi entered the kitchen, a towel around her body, grabbing a beer from the fridge when the phone rang.
"Hello?" She answered.
"Hello, is this Alexis Jones?" The man asked on the phone.
"Who's asking?" She responded.
"I'm Jeremy Blooming, I am Mrs Opal Jones' lawyer" He explained. "I'm calling about Marcus Jones' will and what was left for her in his will" He explained.
"And I told Opal come back with a lawyer, not a phone call, I have no idea if you are a real lawyer" She shrugged when the door opened and closed behind her.
She turned to see Steve who stood there confused.
"I am a lawyer Miss Jones"
"Well you have no way to prove that do you, so I tell you what, if you want to speak to anyone about this talk to my Uncle, Opal will know who he is" She slammed the phone down before looking back at Steve
"You good babe?" He asked as she sighed.
"Yeah, sorry" She walked over to him, taking a sip of beer.
"Who was it" He questioned, looking down at her.
"Nothing, I don't want to talk about it right now" She gave him a reassuring smile as he nodded, knowing when to not push Lexi.
"We still on for our date?" He smiled as she nodded.
"Yeah, you are early though" She laughed as she looked down at her towel.
"Yeah, sorry. I got excited and impatient" He admitted as she walked away from him with a laugh.
"Where are we going, how do I need to dress?" She asked as he followed her, but waited outside her door.
"We are going to a small little restaurant, it's not that fancy" Steve shrugged as he looked at his outfit.
"Okay" She smiled to herself as she picked out her clothes.
She grabbed a red dress that sat high on her chest and short of on her legs.
She placed a pair of tights on followed by her heeled boots, her leather jacket and jewellery, doing her hair and make up as normal.
Around 45 minutes later she emerged from her room to see Steve sat waiting for her on the sofa, beer in hands watching whatever it was on the TV.
"Ready" She smiled as he turned to face her.
"Wow" He jumped up off of the sofa. "You look delicious" He smiled as she laughed at his response.
"Thank you" She smiled as he wrapped an arm around her back, bringing her into his chest before placing a kiss on her lips.
"Let's go" He smiled, taking her hands in his, leading them out the trailer and to his car.
Steve had something on his mind, it was clear to Lexi, but she chose not to say anything, allow him to bring it up if necessary.
They got to Enzo's, Steve parking up and immediately jumping out the car and running around to open the door for Lexi.
"What a gentlemen" She smiled as he gave her a hand out of the car.
They walked inside and were seated straight away.
"Can I start you off with something to drink?" The waiter asked as Lexi looked at the drinks.
"I'll have a peach tea please" She smiled.
"I'll have the same" Steve smiled to the waiter as he left.
"So, I have to ask you something" Steve began.
"Okay" She looked at him worried as he looked slightly stressed.
"So my aunty, who I am actually really close with is getting married in two weeks" Steve began, "I'm going, but I told them I had a girlfriend and that she would be coming with me, the thing is, I don't" He smiled as Lexi lightly laughed. "What I am asking, begging actually because my parents, and the rest of my family for that fact are assholes, they are so...ugh" He let out an aggressive sigh, "If I turn up, with no girlfriend, I will never hear the end of it, please" Steve begged as the ice teas were placed in front of them.
"And for food?" The waiter asked as Lexi broke her stare from Steve to look over the menu.
"I'll have a steak, medium rare please" Steve smiled handing him the menu.
"I'll have the carbonara" Lexi smiled, "Please" She handed him the menu.
"Very good" The waiter nodded before leaving the two.
"Where is it?" Lexi asked as Steve took a sip of his drink.
"It's just outside of Hawkins, like an hours drive" Steve began "It's three days" He added.
"Three days?" Lexi choked on her drink.
"Harringtons do nothing small" He smiled as Lexi rolled her eyes playfully.
"Day one, rehearsal dinner, day two wedding, day three after party celebrations, so like a meal before we wave them goodbye for their honeymoon" Steve explained.
"And were are we staying?" She asked, playing with Steve's hand unconsciously
"The hotel where they are getting married" Steve explained as he smiled watching ehr play with his hand.
"Okay, that should be okay, but I have nothing to wear" She explained.
"I can take you shopping" Steve smiled, loving the idea of being able to spoil her.
"Hmm" She laughed.
"Do we wanna tell Eddie?" Steve asked, worried that it might be too far.
"Yeah, he's going to be fine with it, we have to stay away for 4 nights for battle of the bands" She explained.
"Oh yeah, been doing your research huh sweetheart?" Steve asked as she nodded excitedly.
"Hell yeah" She giggled, "They ask you to preform six songs. First one is like the audition, then when you go through you have to preform three infront of the judges, one of which is a VIP" She tapped her feet in excitement making Steve light up. "Then if you get through you preform another song for the semi finals and then the finals" She explained.
"Do I get to come and support you guys" He asked
"Not until the final, you are allowed three guests" She nodded, as there food was placed in front of them.
They both thanked the waiter before Steve grabbed her hand and glass.
"I just wanted to cheers to you, this new year and everything that comes with it" He smiled as they clinked their glasses together.
"And to you Steve Harrington, for always having my back, let this year not be full of the upside down and let it have more moments like this" She smiled as he kissed her hand as they dug into their food.
The rest of their date was filled with conversation and lot of laughs and footsies under the table.
Steve paid the bill despite Lexi insisting they go half before heading back to Lexi's trailer.
"Come in?" She asked as he waited at the door.
He entered with a smile as she offered him a drink.
She handed him a beer before sitting on the sofa.
"Thank you for tonight" She smiled as she rested her head on his shoulder as he flicked through the channels to find something to watch.
"Anytime" He kissed her head as he settled on some sort of game show as they both played along, until finally they both fell asleep on the sofa.Â

This is the last part to Part One!!!
Christmas was over, and it was New Years evening.
Christmas for Lexi was normal, herself and her siblings went over to the Byers household, exchanging gifts, eating way too much food and playing ridiculous games.
That evening she snuck into Steves window, something she hadn't done since she as about 15 on Christmas day.
"Harrington" She smiled, jumping through the window.
She had to admit, not having Eddie around made it very difficult to keep both of them grounded and sicking to the rules, but she knew it would be the other way if Steve was gone.
"Jones" Steve smiled, grabbing her by the waist, inviting her to sit on his lap.
"Merry Christmas" She smiled down at him.
"Merry Christmas, honey" Steve brought her lips down to his, the two of them melting into one another.
"I got you something" She pulled away as she reached into her bag that laid besides Steve.
She pulled out a pair of gloves and a beanie, a jumper and finally a photo of them both in a frame.
"You didn't have to get me anything" He smiled taking it from her hands, he looked at the photo of the two of them.
"Yes I did" She smiled as he kissed her sweetly.
"I got you something too" He picked her up, turning them around so she sat on the bed as he walked to his wardrobe, pulling out her a gift.
"Here you go baby" He smiled as he dropped to his knees in front of her, handing her a bag of gifts.
She opened a small box, inside a small ring with an A on it.
"I noticed you stopped wearing your Lily ring since everything happened, so I thought I would get you a ring with your initial on it, instead" He smiled as she smiled, putting it on her finger, perfect fit.
"Thank you, I love it"
She opened the next to see a patch for her jacket, a personalised Corroded Coffin one.
"I've got one for all of you" Steve smiled, Lexi noticing that there were five in total.
"These are so cool, thank you" She placed them besides her.
Finally there was a tube.
"What is this" She giggled as she pulled off the top.
"Oo a poster" She smiled as she pulled it out.
On the poster was an image of her on the stage, with the band name on, the location and time of the new years eve gig.
"Oh my god this is so cool" She smiled as his eyes lit up, looking up at her.
"Thought you deserved your own poster" Steve smiled. "Do you know how many tickets have been sold?" Steve questioned her as she shook her head.
"300" He smiled as she looked at him shocked.
"These posters are all over town" Steve looked at the photo
"Steve this is incredible" She put the poster down, hugging him tightly.
"Anything for you" Steve smiled.
Steve had spent that night at Lexi's trailer, the two of them watching Christmas movies, drinking hot chocolate and Steve handing Lucy, Iaan and Nikki there gift.
He got Lucy a new teddy bear with a rock and roll t-shirt on, telling her it was Eddie which caused everyone to laugh.
He got Nikki and knew D&D book, it was the recent one and the shop keeper said it was limited addition.
He got Iaan some beers as well as a new pair of shoes considering his were almost through the sole.
Eddie returned on the 26th, and when he did he ran straight to Lexi's trailer.
Eddie, Lexi exchanged gifts when Eddie got back.
Eddie had bought Steve a jumper he saw while traveling with Wayne, thinking it was very Steve which he promised he would give him next time he saw him.
"Here sweetheart, these are for you" Eddie smiled as she took a seat besides him.
"Thank you Eddie, you really didn't have to" She smiled as he looked at her excitedly.
Eddie got Lexi a tattoo machine, he had Wayne went halves on it, thinking she should be able to practice.
"Eddie this is too much oh my" She smiled as she looked over it.
"Nothing is too much for you" Eddie winked as she gave him a passionate kiss on his lips.
"Plus, I get tattoos whenever I like now" He laughed making her roll her eyes playfully.
"And that one" Eddie pointed at the other gifts.
The second was a new note book knowing she had almost finished her other one, finally he got her another ring, having the same idea as Steve.
This one was a small black stone, surrounded in flames, luckily it fitted on another finger, meaning she could wear both at all times.
"Eddie I love it" She smiled as she turned to him, showing her the ring on her finger.
"Beautiful ring for a beautiful girl" Eddie leaned in, kissing her gently as she smiled into his lips.
They pulled apart as Lexi wanted to give Eddie his things.
"This is from Steve" Lexi smiled giving Eddie his gifts.
He opened the envelope from Steve to see the patch that Lexi had also received.
"Oh these are dope" He smiled as she showed him hers also.
"And this one" She passed him a box.
He opened it to see a can of hairspray.
"I really dont need this" Eddie laughed as he looked at the note.
"Thought you might need to tame that hair" Eddie rolled his eyes as Lexi let out a small laugh.
"Oh that funny princess?" Eddie laughed as she shook her head, passing him his presents from her.
"Thank you" Eddie smiled as he opened his gifts, the first was a pair of slippers.
"Your feet are always cold" She laughed as he immediately placed them on his feet.
"Adorable" She smiled as he gave her a spin.
"Just like a girl I know"
Lexi blushed as he took another seat besides her.
"I also have something for Lucy, Iaan and Nikki" He smiled.
"For Iaan I have this" Eddie smiled as he held out a chain. It was a chain with a small engraving of a Lily for his mum, Lexi had already handed him the ring to keep, it was only right.
"For Nikki I have come up with a campaign to do with all the boys, it will take a whole weekend" Eddie smiled as Lexi rolled her eyes, straddling his lap as he spoke.
"And for my favourite little lady, I have a, not only a set of adorable PJs, that match with a pair of yours, but I have a black cat teddy for her" Eddie smiled looking up at Lexi.
"You and Steve have spoiled us all rotten" Lexi smiled. "But I will warn you, Lucy got given a teddy that is dressed like you from Steve and she is obsessed with it" She laughed as Eddie smiled.
"Looks like me?" Eddie asked.
"Yeah, its a teddy with a bandana, a rock t-shirt on and a denim jacket" She laughed, "She is obsessed with it" Lexi smiled as she pushed his curly bangs out of his eyes.
"Well I will take that" Eddie smiled as Lexi kissed her lips once again, grabbing her waist tightly, pulling her closer to his body.
"So when...do I get my first tattoo" Eddie spoke between kisses.
"Give me a few days to have a look and play with it" Lexi winked as he, groaned, head resting on the back of the sofa.
"I missed you Eds" She smiled as she leaned into his touch.
"Not as much as I missed you"
Lucy and Nikki had moved in with Dean, not wasting any time, knowing that start a new year in their new lives was probably for the best.
Lexi and Iaan had met Deans girlfriend, Betty.
She was an amazing woman who owned her own beauty salon, recently opening a new shop in Hawkins Starcourt Mall which was having its grand opening in a few weeks.
They loved Lucy and Nikki and Lexi was happy to leave them with Dean.
Iaan however was not loving the new living arrangements, and despite all of his things being in Deans new house, he slept at Lexi's trailer almost every night.
Despite the chaotic few weeks she had, she was sat in the backstage room of the Vino Lounge, sipping on a beer as she waiting for the manager to let them know they were ready.
"How many hours is this going to be?" Dean asked with Lucy in his arms, Betty besides him.
"Until midnight" Lexi smiled.
"Okay, four hours" Dean looked at Betty who took Lucy.
"I'll be fine" She smiled. "Have fun tonight" Betty smiled as she left with Lucy.
"Break a leg kid" Dean smiled as he left to go and find his table with everyone.
Everyone came along to watch them play.
In the crowd sat Hopper, El, Joyce, Will, Jonathan, Mike and Nancy.
Steve, Iaan, Nikki , Robin, Dustin, Max, Lucas, and Dean sat with one another.
Separate tables, but right next to one another.
"You going to be okay, haven't preformed in a while" Eddie asked her as she nodded.
"Hell yeah" She smiled, she was so excited.
She looked at her outfit one last time.
Her hair was curled and long, volumised to the roof.
She had her normal dark eyes, bright lips.
She wore a leather low cut top, a see through red cover over the top.
She had high-waisted black, skin tight jeans, big boots with heels on.
Her neck, wrists and fingers were covered in jewellery, looking like a real roock star.
"You look...insanely hot" Eddie grabbed her waist before kissing her exposed shoulder.
"Okay, we ready guys?" The manager walked in, "We have lights, we have speakers, we have a large ass crowd of about 300 out there, no pressure" He nodded as they all smiled excited.
"Hell fucking yeah" Eddie nodded as she smiled, finishing her beer.
"Go for it kids" The manager to the lounge clapped as he ran out in front of them.
"Evening!" He beamed down the mic. "I am so excited to bring to the stage Corroded Coffin, so show them the love, and let the countdown to 1985 begin!" He yelled as the crowd roared.
Eddie, Jeff, Grant and Garret walked on first, the crowd cheering.
Lexi stood on the side of the stage waiting for her cue.
Ride the Lightening by Metallica began as the boys brought her in.
She waited for the lyrics to began, holding the mic to her mouth as she began to sing.
It was a warm up, a small cover to get people in the mood for their music.
HALESTORM (COVER)- RIDE THE LIGHTENING
It was heavy.
It was quick.
And it got people cheering immediately.
"Guilty as charged
But damn it, it ain't right
There's someone else controlling me
Death in the air
Strapped in the electric chair
This can't be happening to me"
Steves jaw dropped, one look at Lexi and he fell for her all over again.
She looked like a goddess.
"Dude" Iaan snapped him out of it.
"Who made you God to say
"I'll take your life from you?"
"Flash before my eyes
Now it's time to die"
Everyone danced and cheered.
"Burning in my brain
I can feel the flame"
"Wait for the sign
To flick the switch of death
It's the beginning of the end
Sweat, chilling cold
As I watch death unfold
Consciousness my only friend
My fingers grip with fear
What am I doing here?"
"Flash before my eyes
Now it's time to die"
She looked around the room with a smile.
"Burning in my brain
I can feel the flame"
Her fingers played on the guitar chords quickly before grabbing the mic once again, looking over to Eddie.Â
"Someone help me
Oh please, God help me
They're trying to take it all away
I don't want to die..."
Eddie began his solo, walking besides Lexi as she began to join him, backs together as they played the solo together before allowing Eddie to take the fast paced part.
He launched into his solo like he had been shot from a canon. Fingers flying across the stings, feral and fearless.Â
Women all around him screaming as he took to his knees, head thrown bac, hair sticking to his face.Â
The light shining on his stomach, his arms, his face...
Lexi watched in amazement like always, people cheering, engrossed by his skills.
Not with jealousy.Â
Not with insecurity.Â
With awe.Â
She loved the way Eddie would give himsefl completely to music, like it kept his heart beating. Her lips pulled into a grin she couldn't be bothered to hide, letting the moment breath before she took off again.
Lexi laughing as she ran to Gareth on the drums, playing by him before running back to the front of the stage, running to Jeff and Grant, smiling as they all played the fast part together.
"Woohoo!" Steve screamed from his seat, Lexi heard it immediately.Â
Pride was written all over his face.Â
Her smile widened.Â
Lexi ran, heart pounding, just as the band snapped into the next part, she gripped the microphone, chest rising as she sucked in a breath.Â
"Someone help me
Oh please, God help me
They're trying to take it all away
I don't want to die"
She head banged on the stage as the crowd followed her actions, clapping along to the beat before she played her guitar once more.
"Dude your drooling" Dustin laughed at Steve, making the rest of the kids giggle as Steve pushed Dustin gently in annoyance.
"Time moving slow
The minutes seem like hours
The final curtain call I see
How true is this?
Just get it over with
If this is true, just let it be
Wakened by horrid scream
Freed from this frightening dream"
"Flash before my eyes
Now it's time to die"
Burning in my brain
I can feel the flame"
Everyone clapped as the song came to an end.
"Thank you!" She smiled out of breath. "We are Corroded Coffin and this is our song; Takes my Life!" She screamed as everyone cheered.
HALESTORM- TAKES MY LIFE
Dean couldn't believe how talented his niece was.
As for Hopper, he was in so much awe that he couldn't be prouder.
She got really close to the mic as it fell almost silent..
"I've written and erased your name a thousand ways in my book"
People cheered as she smiled.
"I've tried to be unkind, maybe cause you to rewind
And take a good hard look"
"I try to take a stand, but it seems to never end in this place"
"I'm gnawed down to bone, by the time I get alone
Do I even know my own face
You confuse me, and correct me
And it's fine, 'til someone takes my life"Â
Eddie backed up her vocals with him own before playing a louder riff.
"I've caught you in the act, I fought to bring you back to my eyes"
Eddie walked towards her, playing the guitar for her...
"I've left it all alone, saying, "Someday you'll come home" in my mind"
She felt every lyric.
"The other side of the fence always seems to bend to your view"
Every beat.
"And I'm trying too hard, so I'll just leave my card with you"
Everything.
"You confuse me, and correct me
It's fine, 'til someone takes my life"
Eddie took a step forwards, playing besides her
"And then you'll break me, and remake me
It's still fine, until you take my life
Get back
Hey, hey, hey...."
She fell to her knees.
"And then you'll break me, and remake me"
She screamed into the mic, making everyone cheer.
"And then you'll break me, and remake me
It's still fine, until you take my life...
Hey...
Yeah.
Get Back..
Hey...Hey...Heyyyy"
Letting out another amazing scream as lights flashed around her.
She smiled looking up and everyone was on there feet clapping.
One woman even flashed her tits making Lexi laugh.
"Holy shit" Eddie beamed down the mic. "Isn't she fucking talented" Eddie smiled as everyone cheered.
"So we have a new thing we wanna test out with everyone, Lexi had this idea that she shouldn't be the only singer in the band" Eddie laughed as Lexi drank some water.
"That's right" She shouted making everyone laugh.
"So she wrote me a song, to sing, and I'm going to sing it now, and let her voice have a break after that incredible performance"
"Hell yea" She giggled down the mic. "Give it up for Eddie" She called as the crowed, especially the ladies, screamed
"Count me in sweetheart" Eddie smiled looking at Lexi as she grabbed her guitar tightly, sending him a smile.
Steve watched the two of them on stage, knowing that there bond was different because of the music they played together.
But Steve also knew their bond was another type of relationship because of there experience with the upside down.
"This is called shaking hands" Eddie smiled as Lexi brought him in.
NICKELBACK-SHAKING HANDS
(Hey, Hey)
Lexi played the guitar, walking to the front of the stage.
"She had her eyes on the prize as the girl next door
You grow up quick when you grow up poor
It's the only way to LA that she knows
The Hollywood pose: teeth, tits, and toes
It didn't take her long to leave the boulevard
So many Five Star friends with black credit cards
She'd try anything once
'Cause anything goes
It never comes easy when you're digging for gold"
Lexi walked forwards, looking at the crowd before playing the guitar, Eddie looking her up and down, smiling at the crowd cheer.
(Hey, hey)
"Well, she ain't no Cinderella
When she's getting undressed
'Cause she rocks it like the naughty wicked witch of the west
Far too pretty to be giving it cheap
That's why she's making six figures working three days a week
Yeah, she'd even break a promise in the promise-land
She didn't make it this far by just shaking hands
She'll shake her money maker twice as hard as anyone can
She didn't make it this far by just shaking hands"
People were obsessed with Eddie and his voice, Steve and the others watched in amazement, not sure why they had never heard him sing before.
Lexi played on the song, pretending it was her that Eddie was talking about, laughing when the crowds yelled along.Â
(Hey, hey)
"I doubt she'd even let the devil buy her little black book
City Hall would probably fall off if anyone got a look
Every A-List player is her favourite friend
Since they all taste the same in the back of the Benz"
"A congressman would call her every once in a while
Got the school girl skirt on the top of the pile
She'd done everyone once and everyone knows
You gotta get a little dirty when you're digging for gold"
Lexi leaned on her knees in front of Eddie as he looked down at her
This only encouraged him more.Â
Lexi played a solo, staying on her knees as she leaned back into her solo.Â
The sweat on her brow, the seat between her breast, Steve and Eddie couldn't stop watching her...
Eddie looked at her and the rest of the band as she ripped the shit out of her guitar before going silent.
She slowly got up.
"Well, someone spilled the beans and now her name's in the press
Tough to keep it all a secret when you're one of the best
The judge is going easy 'cause he paid for her chest
Yeah, he loves his little naughty wicked witch of the west"
"Far too pretty to be giving it cheap
That's why she's making six figures working three days a week
Yeah, she'd even break a promise in the promise-land
She didn't make it this far by just shaking hands
She'll shake her money maker twice as hard as anyone can
She didn't make it this far by just shaking hands
She'll shake her money maker twice as hard as anyone can
She didn't make it this far by just shaking hands"
Everyone clapped, and everyone in their little group looked at one another surprise at Eddie's vocals.
Clapping as loud as they could.
"Everyone give it up for Eddie." She smiled.
"Okay, I've got another one for you, its called Psycho Crazy, and I actually wrote this after I was arrested" She laughed as people cheered for whatever reason. "If you have seen us before you would have heard this one" She took a deep breath.Â
"I was arrested because I smashed the windows of an assholes car, thought he deserved it" She laughed taking a sip of a beer that had been sat beside her mic.
"Let's go boys"
Steve stood, he loved this song, after all he named it...kind of....
HALESTORM- PSYCHO CRAZY
"You say I need psychotherapy
Now you're making me mad
I say you quit trying to fix me
Or this is gonna get bad"
The lights were much more dim, flashes of light where in time with the beats.
"If you want a battle, I'll give you a war
Think you control me, don't know what you're in for
Keep coming at me, keep coming, you'll see
Keep pushing, keep pushing, pushing on me"
"If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho
So don't make me mad
I'll get sick in the head
And show you what you don't know
If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho"
Lexi was beginning to sweat, but Steve and Eddie watched her like she was an angel fallen from heaven.
"You say I've got problems, got issues
And it's all in my head
But don't get it twisted, you just might misunderstand
You're the reason I am
I may go ballistic or better, unhinged
In my straightjacket on needles and pins
But don't you forget that you started this shit
If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho"
People were throwing up their horns, throwing them on time with the beat
"So don't make me mad
I'll get sick in the head
And show you what you don't know
If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho"
Once again Eddie walked forwards, playing her into the next part of the song that was intense.
"If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho
If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho
If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho
If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho"
She fell onto her knees, looking up at the lights.Â
"It always comes down to you versus me
But I won't break
'Cause this time I'm fighting for me
For everything you took away
So keep pushing on me"
She bent over on her knees as if she was in pain, but really she was preparing herself.
She took a deep breath ready for the next note...
"Pushing, pushing, pushing on me
Keep pushing, pushing, pushing on me..."
"If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho
So don't make me mad
I'll get sick in the head
And show you what you don't know"
"If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho
So don't make me mad
I'll get sick in the head
And show you what you don't know
If you want crazy
I'll give you psycho"
"You guys are actually so amazing" She smiled "I love the vibe right now"
People cheered.
"This next song, was the first song we preformed live, so some of you might now it, if so lets get nuts" She laughed looking at Eddie as she took another sip of her beer, walking over to Grant.
People began to clap along in time.
HALESTORM- ROCK SHOW
"Little girl
You like it loud
Come alive in the middle of a crowd
You wanna scream
You wanna shout
Get excited when the lights go down"
Some people in the crowd knew it and clapped and danced along.
Steve sat at the back, singing it along with her as well as Joyce, Iaan and Nikki.
"At the rock show
You'll be right in the front row
Heart and soul, they both know
It's where you gotta be"
All her friends and family knew this song like the back of their hand, singing along to every word.
"Little girl, there you are
All the lighters looking just like stars
Sing along, feel the sound
Take a ride on the hands of the crowd
And here it comes, the moment when
You know you'll never be the same again
Power chord, see the light
You found your place in the world tonight"
"At the rock show
You'll be right in the front row
Heart and soul, they both know
It's where we gotta be
Yeah at the rock show
Getting high on the solo
So what if it's crazy?
That's gonna be me"
She dropped to her knees as Eddie stood in front of her, playing the solo, her looking up at him, if he wasn't in front of 300 people, and Steve, he would have taken her right there.
She smiled as she watched him play the chords like he had been doing it all his life.Â
She stood walking to the from of the stage, grabbing people hands
"This goes out to anyone
Whose heart beats like a kick drum
When a bitchin' riff comes
Knows the words to every line, every time
And you know you gotta go and get some, get pumped
Find yourself and lose it"
She jumped off of the ground, running to the front of the stage, jumping up and down in time with everyone else.
"At the rock show
I'm looking at the front row
Heart and soul, we both know
It's where we gotta be
Yeah at the rock show
We're reaching for the high notes
So what if we're crazy?
You're coming with me
You're coming with me
You're coming with me
So what if it's crazy?
It's where we gotta be
At the rock show"
The song came to an end as everyone erupted in a loud applause.
"Okay, I think it's time I introduce you to the band" She laughed down the mic making everyone cheer. "This shit is awesome, who thought our shitty little band would be preforming in front of 300 of you" She called out.
"Thank you for coming to support us and to count down to the new year, but anyway..." She smiled as the band played some music in the background.
"This on my left, he's out our bass player, he's smooth with those chords, you don't even know they are coming, give it up for Grant" She called out as the crowd cheered as he played a few chords to show of his talent.
"Up next is one of our guitarists, the man himself Jeff, who without him, our songs wouldn't be so heavy" She smiled as everyone cheered as he played a riff.
"Behind me, you see that curly set of hair, the freckled faced drummer who without we would be quiet, give it up for Gareth!" She yelled, again everyone cheered as he gave a mini drum solo.
"He needs no introduction, the main man, the biggest freak of us all, the man who created Corroded Coffin, Eddie!!" She yelled as the women went WILD.
Tits were out, underwear thrown.
Eddie blushed as he walked to the mic.
"Oh you flatter us, but lets be honest, without our main singer, we wouldn't be here. She is the hot, the sexy, the loud and talented ALEXIS!!!" He shouted and thats when the crowd were the loudest making Lexi's heart beat.
She watched as her friends and family clapped and screamed.
"We love you LEXI!" People screamed in the crowd.
"Are you all amazing" She smiled, "Look, we need your help' She looked at the count down.
"We have another three hours to party, we are going to play some more music for another hour, we are going to have a break, then we will be back for some more" She smiled as everyone clapped.
The intro to love bites began, some people knowing the music, immediately dancing and head banging along.
HALESTORM- LOVE BITES
Lexi and Eddie played the guitar besides one another, before she ran to the mic.Â
"Don't listen what your girlfriend says
She reads those magazines
That say you fail the test
You don't have what she needs"
"I'll slither like a viper
And get you by the neck
I know a thousand ways to help you forget about her"
Lexi looked at the crowd.
"That bitch can eat her heart out"
She smirked looking over at Steve, sending him a wink making him smile widely.
"Love bites, but so do I, so do I
Love bites, but so do I, so do I
Love bites"
"My lips are pale and vicious
You're foaming at the mouth
You've suffered in the darkness
I'll suck the pain right out
So come and taste the reason
I'm nothing like the rest
I'll kiss you in a way you'll never forget about me"
She turned to Eddie with a smile.
"That chick can eat her heart out"
"Love bites, but so do I, so do I
Love bites, but so do I, so do I, so do I"
She dropped lower, looking at the crowd for her favourite part of the song.Â
Everyone clapping in time.Â
I"t tucks you in and kicks you down
It chews you up and spits you out
It messes with your sanity by twisting all your thoughts around
They say it's blind, they say it waits, but every time it seals your fate
And now it's got you by the balls, it won't let go until you fall
I was down and I got up I said "Hey love I've had enough"
I've found pleasure without pain
My soul you'll never take"
She smiled into the mic, raising her horns.
"Love bites, but so do I"
"Love bites, but so do I, so do I
Love bites, but so do I, so do I, so do I"
"Love bites, but so do I, so do I"
"Love bites
Love bites"
She took a deep breath, looking around at all the faces that were smiling up at her, cheering her and the band on.
She looked back at the band members.
Lexi looked back at Grant who nodded, it was time for his solo.
She left the stage as did everyone else but Grant, it was him moment to shine.
Girls went crazy, men went crazy.
Everyone enjoyed as he went full force on the drums.
"Hey, you okay?" Eddie asked her as she nodded.
"Yeah, this is unreal" Lexi smiled as Eddie agreed.
They watch Grant control the crowd from the back of the stage behind his drum set.
"He's loving this" Jeff smiled as they all nodded loving that they could see he was enjoying himself.
He ended his solo as the other's began to play the next song.
Uncomfortable, this was one of Lexi's personal favourites.
HALESTORM- UNCOMFORTABLE
"Aahaha, let's go!" She yelled into the mic.
"I did it cause I wanna and I did it cause I'm gonna and I did it just because I can
I did it cause it makes me feel so good, and I did it because fuck "the man"
"I did it cause I'm crazy and no one's gonna save me, and I did it just to cut the noise
I did it cause I'm drunk and I did it yea so what, cause baby I'm just one of the boys"
This song was much faster, she sang her heart into the mic.
"I did it all to break every single preconceived notion that you have
I did it all to shake every single one of your emotions and just to make you"
"Uncomfortable"
"I love to make you"
"Uncomfortable"
"I love to make you"
She looked at everyone as Eddie walked over to Garett.
"I do it cause I love it and I want some more of it and I do it cause you said I can't
I do it cause you fight it and I know you don't like it when I open up and talk about sex"
"I do it cause you hate me and I do it for the ladies and with all of my good time friends
I do it cause the whole damn world's gone crazy and fuck it man, this is the end"
"I did it all to break every single preconceived notion that you have
I did it all to rape every single one of your emotions and just to make you"
"Uncomfortable"
"I love to make you"
"Uncomfortable"
"I love to make you"
Eddie walked besides her, looking down at her closly, inches apart as she sang towards him.
"Well, I don't wanna bring you down
So why you wanna bring me down?"
"Don't bring me down, no
Don't bring me down"
She looked up innocently as Eddie stopped playing his chords, but then she smirked and he played the next part, the two of them speerating once again.
"I did it all to shake every single one of your emotions and just to make you"
"Uncomfortable"
"I love to make you"
"Uncomfortable"
"I love to make you"
The room erupted as they looked at one another again, they needed to take a break, but they were enjoying themselves way too much.Â

The morning sunlight seeped through the blinds of the trailer.Â
Lexi moved slowly, deliberately taking care of every movement.Â
It was the day of the funeral.
Lexi had spent the morning getting ready as Steve dropped Lucy to Karen's.
She had spoken to Eddie that morning, him telling her about his trip so far, telling her that he missed her and that everything would be okay.
The house hummed with the quiet presence of friends and family, the air thick with a stange mix of mourning and awkward tension.Â
All her close friends of her's, Nikkis and Iaans were round to offer whatever little comfort they could.Â
Steve, Jonathan and Nancy lingered in her room, steadying her, hands occasionally brushing against hers for reassurance.Â
She could feel the warmth of Steve's hand as she adjusted the strap of her shoe.Â
"You okay?" Steve asked her quietly, only loud enough for her to hear.Â
"Yeah, thank you guys, for being here, it means a lot"
"Again, Robin apologises, she felt as though she didn't know you well enough, but she sends her condolences" Steve explained as Lexi smiled.
"It's okay, tell her not to worry" Lexi stood.
"We ready?" Steve asked her as she nodded.
"Let's get this day over with" Lexi sighed as she left her room, her friends following her.
"Let's go" Lexi looked at her brothers and all the people that had come to support them.
Outside the trailer, Hopper coordinated who would ride with whom. Nikki and the younger kids went with Dean and Joyce, and Lexi's friends piled into Nancy's mothers car.Â
Nancy and Jonathan got in the front, Steve sat besides Lexi.
The drive to the chruch was silent. Lexi stared out the window, her mind churning with memories and unspoken anger.Â
When they pulled up, she let out a short bitter laugh.Â
"Sweatheart?" Steve asked her, looking at her from the door he used to exit.
"Ironic as the most evil man I knew would be getting a ceromony in a church, his casket might burn" She giggled.
Steve and Jonathan looked at one another in worry.
"Come on Lex" Steve looked at her as she got out the car.
"We have a problem" Joyce walked over to her as she stood between Steve and Jonathan, looking back to see a woman arguing with Dean.
"Who is that?" Steve asked before she could.
"That is Marcus' wife" Joyce sighed looking at Lexi.
"Fuck me" Lexi sighed, "I know Dean said he got married in LA, but I thought that was a joke, like he went to go and get married, not actually married" Lexi looked over to see Dean trying to calm her, Hopper then following.
"She is demanding the money your father left you" Joyce explained.
"Okay, not today" Lexi pushed past everyone and over to the woman who was probably not much older than herself.
"Ok, look" Lexi began "You see that little boy over there" She snapped pointing at Nikki who was watching. "He is about to bury his dad and you are standing there yelling at a dead mans brother about money on the day of his fucking funeral" Lexi began to see red. "I don't know who the fuck you think you are, but whatever this is, it can wait" Lexi pointed at the woman. "Have some respect you asshole, either come in sit your ass down and be quiet, or come back tomorrow were we can talk about it" Lexi shut the woman up straight away.
The woman said nothing.
"What, cat got your tongue? Nothing to say now? Don't be so disgusting coming her and shouting about money that is yours when you married the man less than a week before he died" Lexi pushed the woman.
"You know what, Hopper, get her the fuck away from here, if she wants to talk, she can wait until we bury our dad" Lexi walked away as Hopper began pulling her away.
The woman said nothing to her, nothing.
She simply smirked at the girl as she left.
Lexi walked into the church to see it was practically full.
"Who knew dad had so many friends" Iaan looked around.
"Our condolences" Was all the three of them heard for at least thirty minutes before it began.
Finally, everyone took their seats.
Lexi, Nikki, Iaan and Dean took a seat in the front row.
Everyone else behind them
It began with Pastor Charles, the same Pastor who did Wills funeral presenting a verse from the bible before Dean was asked to say some words.
Dean spoke about their childhood, how they drifted apart and how he wished he could help Marcus in the years of his absence.
"Now, I would like to call to the stand Lexi Jones, the eldest child of Marcus' to say a few words.
Lexi had no idea she was going to be asked to speak.
Never the less she took a deep breath and walked to the microphone.
She looked at her brothers, who gave her a nod.
She looked at Steve who took a deep breath for her.
"I'm going to be honest, I had no idea I was going to speak today, in fact I wanted to avoid it" Lexi smiled, "Not because I didn't want to say anything, because god to I have a lot to say about Marcus, my dad..." She corrected sutterly. "But I don't think the words I have to say about him is worth any of you hearing, because there isn't much I can say about him that will be good" She looked around the room at a lot of confused faces. "I'm not going to lie, I have no idea who most of you people are, neither do I really think that matters. All I have to say is...dad...you were a shitty dad, but I forgive you" Lexi nodded, "I mean, can't hold a grudge against a man that's dead anyway" She laughed before leaving the stand and sitting back down.
Everyone who came with Lexi smiled at her, everyone else in the church looked mortified.
The entire church left to go to the graveyard behind, walking over to where Marcus was to be buried.
Lexi stood in the background with Steve as Iaan and Nikki stood with Dean to throw dirt on his coffin before being lowered into the ground.
"Sure you didn't want to throw dirt on his grave?" Steve laughed quietly, holding her arm with his, looping them together as she leaned into him.
"Nah, I would rather spit on it to be honest" Lexi laughed making a few people turn to look at her.
"I have no idea who half these people are" Lexi looked around.
"Probably for the best if they were friends with him" Steve sighed as the two of them left earlier to get to Joyce's house to set up for everyone to gather for the wake.
Lexi sat in the back garden, a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other.
Alone.
She didn't want to be around so many people who thought Marcus was a good person, so she avoided for as long as she could.
"Wondered where you went" Jonathan smiled as he, Nancy, and Steve joined her.
Sgeve took a seat besides her as the others gathered around.
"Sorry, I just can't pretend in there" Lexi put her cigarette out
Steve handed her another beer as she finished the last gulp.
"Thanks" She smiled.
"Well I've spoken to a few of them, looks like a lot of them are colleagues, some old friends from college and some are from his old rehab centres" Nancy explained making Lexi laugh.
"Jesus thats...so sad?"
The group smiled at her sadly as they saw her crack.
"Lex" Steve called over to her.
"You okay?"
"Yeah..." She nodded. "I will be" She tried to reassure them.
Steve took her hand in his, kissing the back of it as he comforted her.
"I have some news for you" Jonathan began
"It better be good, I've had enough of bad news" She smiled
"It is. So I wasn't going to say anything, because of what's happened, but I was asked by an old friend of my dads if you guys could do a gig...New Years Bash" Jonathan explained as Lexi smiled. "I didn't give him an answer, because 5 minutes before my mum told me about your dad" Jonathan explained
"He isnt my dad" Lexi slipped..."Ah"
"Lexi..." Steve looked at her, knowing she didn't really want to tell people yet.
"What the hell" Lexi looked at her friends. "To start with, yes we will do that gig" She smiled, "But to finish with Marcus was not my biological dad, neither was Lily, who I thought was my mother. So I am not actually his daughter" She explained.
The three of them looked at her shocked and confused.
"You mean that bastard beat you, and you aren't even his daughter" Nancy questioend as she nodded.
"And that is all I wanna say about it, no more about it okay, that conversation is done" Lexi stopped them from asking any more questions.
"Okay, Jonathan. What time New Years?" Lexi asked changing the subject
"8pm, at the Vino Lounge" Jonathan explained, trying to ignore all the information he was told.
"Okay, we will be there" She cheersed her bottle towards him.
"We will be there" Steve nodded.
"Hell yeah" Nancy smiled making them all laugh.
"I should probably go and show my face now" Lexi stood.
"I'll come with you" Steve smiled, "I'll be there in a sec" He nodded as she walked back inside the Byers house.
"Nikki and Iaan know about Marcus, and Eddie but that's it, Dean and Joyce too but none of the kids" Steve quickly explained as the three of them nodded.
"Yeah, not a word" Nancy nodded, looking at him.
"Thank you" Steve smiled before going to find Lexi.Â

Lexi wasn't even sure how she was going to start the conversation with Hopper.
She knocked on his door to his small cabin, regretting it immediately as he answered looking pissed.
"Bad time?" She asked as he shook his head.
"No, Mike and El are in her room...with the DOOR OPEN!" Hopper yelled making Lexi sigh, she didn't want El or any of the boys to be there.
"Can I speak to you- in private" She asked, Hoppers expression softened with worry.Â
He exited his cabin, walking outside and walking over to the small bench that overlooked the forest ahead.
It was cold, Christmas was a few days away, not like she was going to be doing much, just visit Jonathan.
They two of them wrapped in their coats as snow lazily began to fall, their breath visible in the December air.Â
"Everything alright kid?" Hopped asked as they took a seat.
"Shit...no" She sighed, looking up to the sky to hold back her tears.
"Marcus is dead" Lexi began making Hopper sigh.
"I'm sorry"Â He said, though they both knew Hopeprs feelings towards Marcus.Â
"And I just found out he isn't my real father" Lexi looked at Hopper
"What?" He looked confused.
"Did you ever know a Rose" She asked.
"Yeah, your mother's sister" He nodded, "Why?"
"Turns out she was my real mother" Lexi nodded bringing her confidence up.
"God I haven't seen her since I was about 24" A small, nostalgic smile flickered, then faded as something clicked.
"Wait..."
"Did you happen to have a one night stand with her 18 years ago?" Lexi laughed as she wiped her tears.
Hopper went pale, completely freezing.Â
"Turns out your my dad" Lexi stood, walking away to take a minute as Hopper also needed one.
"What!" Hopper finally came out of his frozen position.
"You never knew, so I wanna start off by saying don't feel bad, you never knew...I never knew!" Lexi laughed to try and lighten the situation.
"What..." He couldn't put a sentence together.
"I just thought you should know, but this doesn't mean you have to start being my dad or anything, no pressure. Marcus left Lucy in my care and Nikki in Dean's and he left me enough money for a deposit on a small place to live so I am okay in that end, no father needed, so no pressure" She rambled.
"What"
"Can you say something other than what!" She snapped as Hopper looked at her.
"Sorry this is a lot to take in, you are right, I never knew or I would have done more, I would have done a lot more... look if you need a place to stay while you hunt for a house" Hopper looked at his cabin then at El and Mike looking through the window at them
"HEY!" He barked, sending them scrambling.Â
"I appreciate it, but I'll be okay, I'll be staying with Joyce for a few days over Christmas anyway" She smiled.
"I'm sorry I never knew" Hopper apologised, "I wish i knew, I would have treated you right, I would have been the dad you needed kid" Hopper looked at her sadly, the guilt was eating him up.
"Hey, it's not on you, no one knew but Joyce..." She slipped, she didn't want to put Joyce in the mud.
"She knew" Hopped snapped.
"She made a promise" Lexi shrugged. "Look, don't be angry at her for that, you two only just became friends, alright, and if it wasn't for the upside down, you two would never have spoken again, so...let's just leave her out of this" Lexi explained as he nodded. "And if it's okay with you, I would prefer it if this stayed between us until I've spoken to Nikki, I'm speaking to him tonight" She asked as Hopper understood.
"Do I tell El? I know she isn't my daughter by blood, but she is my kid now" Hopper explained as Lexi nodded.
"Soon, yeah" She smiled as Hopped hugged her, Lexi hugging back, feeling a weight off of her shoulder. "I need to get home, there is a lot to do now I have no parents" She tried to laugh "Well..ugh you get what I mean" She cringed
"I know, nothing has changed, I've always been here for you, that's not changing" Hopper smiled at her as she said goodbye heading back to the van where Eddie and Steve had waited.
"Hey baby, you okay" He perked up when he saw her.
"Yeah, that went a lot better than I thought" She smiled.
"Good, but you know Nikki is going to take this the hardest right" Steve told her hand as she took a deep breath
"I know, let's get this done"
Lexi waited in the trailer with Dean and Iaan for Nikki.
Eddie took Lucy over to his trailer to spend some time with his Uncle, plus Wade loved Lucy. Steve had gone back home, his parents where flying in for Christmas, that meant he needed to make sure the house was clean and back to how it was.
The three of them sat in painful silence when finally Nikki walked in the door, immediately looking at the three of them concerned.
"Oh shit" Nikki sighed, throwing his bag down.
"Language" Lexi warned softly, "Please sit down" She asked as Nikki took a seat next to Lexi.
"Kid" Dean began, "I'm so sorry to tell you this, but your dad died two nights ago" Dean began as Nikki looked at him confused.
"Dads dead?" He looked at Lexi who looked at him sadly.
"I'm sorry buddy" She grabbed his hand as he looked at the floor sadly.
"I mean, I hated him, but that really shit" He struggled to express himself.
"You can hate him and still be sad that he's died" Iaan explained as he nodded.
"Look, I hate to throw bad news on you like this, but his funeral will be in a few days okay" Lexi explained as he cried, standing up and hugging Lexi tightly. She held him close, letting him cry into her shoulder as she looked at Dean and then Iaan.
That's when her tears poured.
"Nikki" She pulled him away, "There is something else" She cried. "We found out through dad dying that I am not his real daughter" She came out and said it.
"What?" He stopped to look at Iaan.
"I'm so sorry" She cried. "But just because we are not blood related does not mean I do not love you and Lucy, okay, I am still your big sister" Lexi cried as she watched Nikki's heart physically break.
"You...You arent my real sister?" Nikki cried looking at Iaan who was crying besides Dean.
"I'm sorry" Dean looked at the three kids in front of him.
"What does this mean?" Nikki asked as Lexi looked at Dean.
"It means, I am moving back to Hawkins, and you, Iaan and Lucy are going to come and live with me and my girlfriend" Dean explained.
Lexi hadn't told Eddie or Steve yet, but Lucy was going with Dean, she knew that Lucy would be better off with two fully earning adults who could give her the attention she needed.
"Where is Lexi going"
"I am going to live here, and I am going to be looking for a flat to live in, and I am going to have you guys over as much as possible, and when I have enough money, we are going to move into our own house, big enough for all of us" Lexi smiled through her tears.
"I don't want to go with Dean" Nikki cried.
"I know, but the only thing that is changing is that you are going to sleep somewhere else everynight, you can still come here, you still have the boys. Nothing between us is changing" Lexi reminded him, standing up and hugging him tightly as Nikki hugged her back.
Iaan walked over to the two of them, hugging them as they all fell to the floor in tears.
"I love you Lexi" Nikki told her.
"I love you too" She kissed his head, holding him tightly.
Lexi, Iaan and Nikki ended up watching TV, Dean leaving them be.
Eddie headed over after Lucy had fallen asleep, walking in carefully, looking to see that the three of them had fallen asleep on the sofa.
Eddie smiled to himself, gently placing Lucy next to Lexi, allowing her to snuggle into her.
"Eddie?" Nikki opened his eyes, gently removing himself from under his brothers arm.
"You okay kid?" Eddie looked at him as he shook his head. "Come outside"
Eddie and Nikki walked outside so they could speka in private.
"It's not fair" Nikki began, "She isn't my real sister"
"Just because you aren't bloodline relatives, doesn't mean anything" Eddie reminded him as he nodded.
"She has never really been my sister, she has always been more like my mother, a mother that is five years older than me" Nikki laughed to himself making Eddie smile.
"I know" Eddie chuckled softly and hugged him as Nikki cried into him.
Eddie and Nikki continued to talk for a while before heading back inside.
Eddie began cooking some food for them as it was getting late and when he had left none of them had eaten.
Nikki slowly began waking them up, putting Lucy to bed who was already fed and changed ready for bed by Eddie hours ago.
Lexi woke and then Iaan.
In silence they all walked to the dining table, eating comfortably between them all.
"Look, I know everything is weird now, but we will be back to normal soon" She smiled.
"Can I ask" Iaan began "Did you find out who your biological dad is?"
"Yeah" She pushed her empty plate away from her gently.
"Who?" Nikki asked.
Lexi looked at Eddie for reassurance, him nodding in support.
"Hopper"
"Hopper!" The two of them yelled unison.
"Yeah, he knows and he isn't saying anything to anyone, Nikki it's up to you if you tell the kids, it's in your hands okay" She smiled.
"Okay, I might just let this cool off for a while, then I will let them know." Nikki nodded.
Lexi gave him a smile.
"Dads funeral is in two days, it's shit because Christmas is in four, Dean has sorted everything out, you don't have to come, but if you did thats okay too" Lexi explained as Nikki took a deep breath.
"I'll be there" Nikki nodded.
"What about Lucy?" Iaan asked.
"She wont be coming, she is too young for a funeral, so Karen is looking after her for the day and evening, Joyce has been kind enough to have the wake at her house" Lexi spoke to the two honestly.
"Who is coming"
"Anyone you want to come, look dad was a piece of shit, but burying a parent is hard, and the more people you have there for support the easier it is okay..." Lexi explained
"I'll probably just ask Dustin" Nikki looked at Iaan and then Lexi who both nodded in agreement.
"Make sure he is okay with that too bro" Iaan told him.
Later that evening everyone headed to bed, Lexi sat in her bed waiting for Eddie.
"Can I ask you something?" Eddie asked as he crawled in besides her, laying down as he looked up at her as she wrote in her book.
"Hmm" She looked at him.
"Are you okay, you've had possibly the most soul destroying last few days and I havent seen you cry once" Eddie asked her as she smiled, placing her book down.
"I struggle to cry Eds" She explain as he sat up, "Like I feel that I want to cry, but I think I am so angry right now, I cant"
Eddie sat in front of her, taking her hands in his when he noticed something.
"What's that?" He asked as he opened the palms of her hands.
"That is me...squeezing my hands so hard to contain my anger, that I accidentally cut my hand with my nails" She lightheartedly smiled embarrassed as he kissed her hands.
"You can talk to me you know" Eddie reminded her as she looked at him in appreciation.
"I know" She leaned forwards, kissing him, thanking him. "Thank you for everything" She smiled as he smiled back at her.
"I'm sorry I won't be here for the funeral" Eddie apologised, "I don't want to let me Uncle down, you know?" Eddie explained.
"I wouldn't want you to give up your Christmas tradition for a funeral for a man you didn't even like" She smiled as he agreed.
"I leave tomorrow morning" Eddie told her as she nodded.
"I know, it's okay Eddie" She smiled as she leaned forwards, kissing him gently, allowing there lips to melt into one another.
"I will call you the day of the funeral okay" Eddie told her.
"Okay, just shh" She continued to kiss him, moving to straddle his lap. Kissing him harder.
Eddie melted under her, wanting to kiss her forever.
"Lex" He sighed.
She sighed, collapsing her head on his.
"I'm sorry" She apologised.
"No, I would do this, any other day, but right now you aren't in the right place, plus we have a deal with Harrington" Eddie reminded her as she nodded.
"I know" She sat back on the bed, looking at him sadly.
"Everything is going to be okay" He reminded her as she nodded.
"I know" She gave him a smile as she let him peck her lips once more as he stood.
"Goodnight sweetheart" He held her facce in his hands, kissing her lips again before leaving her alone.Â

Around 40 minutes later Dean entered the trailer with his head hanging low.
The four of them looked up at him, his eyes were red, swollen.Â
He'd been crying.Â
Every conversation died instantly.Â
10 minutes prior Steve had gone to the bathroom, excusing himself to do a tactical chunder.Â
Steve knew he needed to sober himself up enough to be there for Lexi if this was going to be as bad as Iaan and Lexi made it out to be.Â
"Hey kiddos" He tried to smile as he looked at Eddie and Steve confused.
"Dean, this is Eddie and Steve, they are good friends of mine, I want them here for this" Lexi explained as he nodded, taking a seat opposite Lexi.
Iaan brought over 5 coffee's taking a seat in silence.
"Oh...Kids. I don't even know where to begin." He sighed into his hands.
"It's okay Dean." Lexi encouraged him as he took a deep breath.
"Your father...They found his body a few hours ago" He looked up at Lexi.
Something in her chest snapped, not loudly.
Her face went still.Â
Blank.Â
Her eyes burned, tears gathered but she refused to let them fall.Â
"They believed it was an overdose." Dean looked at Iaan who immediately looked at Lexi as her brows raised, anger bleeding through the shock.Â
"He went to rehab?" Lexi questioned, looking up at Dean confused.
"No. He went to LA with his new wife." Dean angrily stated.
Lexi's blood boiled.
"And to think I believe his bullshit lies!" She yelled, making the entire room flinch.
"Lexi..." Dean sighed as his hands practically shook. "There is something I need to tell you both"
"What?!" She snapped.
"When you were born Iaan, your mother gave me this letter. Made me swear to never open it until Marcus died, whether that was when he was 80 or when he decided to kill himself from the substances" He sighed.
This caught Lexi's attention.
"So, I opened it this evening." He reached into his pocket
"Read it" She begged as Eddie took her hand to calm her which she gratefully held onto for support.
Steve stood behind her, a hand on her shoulder.
Dean took a deep breath as he unfolded the paper, his voice breaking as he beganÂ
Dean,
When I married your brother, there was always a trust I had for you, more than anyone else. And that's why I hope you kept your promise and left this letter until I told you too.
I have to be honest with you and eventually Lexi too.
I tried my hardest to protect them, although I had a secret.
When I was 24, my sister had a baby.
She was 21 years old.
She was in no place to take care of a child.
So I took her under my wing, I raised her.
Although my sister wanted to love her, she couldn't so I adopted her to keep her safe.
That was Lexi.
Dean looked up at Lexi whose tears finally had fallen.
She is not my biological daughter.
And when I met Marcus, she was 1 years old, a year later Marcus and I had Iaan.
I never told her because her real mother, my sister, wanted nothing to do with her.
I hated that I kept this from her, Marcus thought she was mine, and that's why in the beginning he treated her like her own, but he swore to me he would never tell her that he was not her biological father, whether he kept that or not, I won't know.
The reason I am handing you this letter is because I am running away. I am taking Lexi to go get a new record for her, but when we go, we ain't ever coming back.
Iaan will be okay with his father, he loves his son more than anything.
He'll raise him right, but we aren't coming back
I love you Dean, and I love your brother.
But he is a man I cannot be with any longer.
Lily x
Lexi's tears fell freely, silent and relentless, dripping onto her hands.Â
"So..." Iaan began "All this time. Lexi and I are cousins. Not..." Iaan struggled to get out as Lexi stood with an abrupt screech of her chair.Â
She turned her back on everyone, arms wrapped around herself tightly, like she may break otherwise.Â
Eddie watched her with heartbreak etched into every line of his face.Â
Steve felt like the ground had vanished beneath him.Â
"I'm sorry" Dean cried, "About everything. I know you might not care much, but I am organising your fathers funeral next week" Dean stood.
"Thanks, Dean" Iaan nodded as he wiped the tears from his eyes. "We will call you tomorrow" Iaan sighed as Lexi turned around to look Dean in the eyes.
"Yeah, thanks Uncle Dean, for dropping this bombshell on us that walking out...I will add you to the list of adults who seem to enjoy making us hurt then walking away" Lexi snapped as Dean sighed.
"Lexi... I had no idea until I opened up this letter. But if you want to know, I know where your mothers sister lives" Dean asked her as she shook her head.
"No. If she wants nothing to do with me, I want nothing to do with her" She rolled her eyes.
Eddie's stomach twisted, another fracture, another truth tearing her open.
The man who beat her up wasn't even her real father.
The mother she grieved, wasn't her real mother.
Iaan wasn't even her brother.
Nikki and Lucy aren't even related to her.
Iaan looked at the floor, going completely pale.
"Hey," Eddie stood, "How about you go for a smoke outside, get some air" Eddie pushed the hair out of her face, making her look at him as she nodded slowly, heading over to the door.
"Iaan man, do you need anything?" Steve asked him as he shook his head.
"Nah, I'm gonna go for a walk, I'll be back later" Iaan patted him on the shoulder, grabbing cigarettes and a beer before exiting the trailer.
"Sorry we had to meet under the circumstance" Dean held out his hand, shaking Eddies, then Steve's.
"No worries man." Eddie looked over to the door, waiting to hear Lexi come back in.
"It's nice to meet you anyways" Steve smiled
"I don't know how to help her through this" Eddie admitted. "Getting the shit beaten out of you by a man that wasn't even her father...and Lucy and Nikki, they love Lexi more like a mother than a sister and they have no blood bond" Eddie sighed looked at Dean. "What do I do here?"
"There is nothing that you can offer that is going to help her make any sense of this" Dean sighed.
"Do you know who her real father is?" Steve asked as he shook his head.
"The only person that is gonna know anything is Joyce" Dean took a cigarette out of his pocket, lighting it.
"You're telling me Joyce knew?" Steve looked at him in shock as he nodded.
"Oh god" Eddie closed his eyes. Lexi was going to blow.
"I'll tell her in the morning" Dean instructed as they could hear Lexi moving outside.
"You have to tell her, I can't keep that from her" Eddie sighed,
"Me neight" Steve looked at him as Dean nodded.
Lexi finally walked back inside the trailer, eyes blood shot.
"Lexi come here" Eddie pulled her closer to him.
"What now?" Lexi sighed tiredly as she leaned into Eddie's hold.
"Sweetheart, I don't know who your biological father is, and I hate to be the one to tell you this but there is only one person that might" Dean explained.
"Joyce" She answered looking down at Eddie's hands, playing with the ring that sat on his fingers. "She had to know, she had photos of me as a baby"
"Look, I am staying at a motel just outside of town, I'll be back in the morning with your fathers will" Dean looked at her, "He left you something despite you not being his" Dean explained as she nodded.
"Okay, I'll see you in the morning" Lexi sighed as Dean stood and said his goodbyes before leaving.
"You okay?" Eddie asked as she looked down at him.
"No" She simply put, "But I will be when I get answers" She smiled through her tears.
"You wanna go there now, I know you aren't sleeping" Steve looked up at her, resting his chin on her shoulder.
"No...In the morning, I think I'll sleep fine, I'm tired enough as it is" Lexi reassured him as he nodded.
"Okay, come on" Eddie stood as she headed to bed.
Eddie made sure everything was off, TV, radio, toaster. Making sure nothing that could make the electrical bill more expensive was on.
Steve tucked her in, taking a seat on the floor besides her.
"You need anything?" Steve asked as she shook her head.
"No" She quietly responded as Eddie walked in, taking a seat besides Steve.
Eddie turned off the lights, leaving the door open for Iaan, walking in to her room, looking at Steve and Eddie who boht sent him a sad smile.
Iaan went to the other side of the bed, lying besides Lexi, the two of them crying in silence.
The next morning Lexi wasted no time in getting ready, she didn't even bother fighting it.
She pulled on a pair of sweatpants, the jumper Steve gave her weeks ago after she threw up in his house, her trainers on before waking up Eddie.
"Hey" She yelled at the two boys on her floor as they woke up startled.
"Jesus Lex" Eddie sat up.
"Ahhh!" Steve just screamed making her smile.
"Sorry, I just couldn't wait for you to wake up anymore" She smiled.
"Well I am awake now" He smiled, "Give us two minutes okay"
He jumped into a pair of black trousers, an Iron Maidan vest, grabbing his leather jacket incase it got colder before placing on his converses and grabbing his keys.
Steve sorted out his hair, taking one of his jumpers from Lexi, still in the same jeans as yesturday.
"Let's go" Eddie smiled at her as she followed him out the trailer and into the van, Steve close behind.
"I'll take the kids out, you need to speak to Joyce alone yeah" Eddie reached for her hand as they drove down the road, her nodding at his words.
"We are here for you Lex" Steve told her, grabbing her other hand.
The drive wasn't long, 10 minutes if that.
"Okay" Lexi took a deep breath before leaving the van and walking over to the door.
Jonathans car wasn't there so at least he wasn't going to be there to put an input.
"Joyce?" Lexi called out as she looked around.
"Hey!" She walked out of her room with Lucy in her hands.
Lucy's smile lit up the second she saw Lexi, and even brighter when she was Eddie.
"Hey baby girl" Lexi smiled taking her from Joyce. "Where are the boys?" Lexi asked.
"You know them, winter break, out until 7" Joyce smiled.
"Joyce, you know Eddie" Lexi smiled.
"We have met briefly" Joyce shook his hand.
"Lovely to properly meet you Miss Byers" Eddie smiled as Lucy reached for him. "Hey princess" Eddie smiled as Lexi passed her over.
Steve and Joyce gave one another a small smile before Steve and Eddie took Lucy to one side, keeping her busy.
"Joyce, Marcus is dead"
This made Joyce stop in her tracks.
"And I'm calling him Marcus, because he isn't my dad, no and Lily, was my aunt right?" Lexi couldn't stop when she started. "So I guess I am here to ask you who the hell my dad is?"
Joyce turned to face her, face full of guilt.
"Dean come by did he?" She asked, taking a seat at the dining table as she rubbed her face.
"Joyce, I need you to be honest with me" Lexi sat opposite her. "Tell me the truth, the whole truth"
"Oh god, Lexi I am so sorry I never told you" Joyce took her hand. "Truth is, Lily's sister had a baby at 20, I had Jonathan around the same time, but I was 22 when I had Jonathan and Lily was 24 at this point, her sister Rose was not prepared and when she had you she left you with Lily, Lily had no say" Joyce cried. "We lived together for about three years and raised you both together. Jonathans dad was never there so we had each other until your mother met Marcus and Iaan came along. The truth is we didn't know who the father was. No idea. Until..." Joyce sighed.
"Rose came to see me a few years later, with her new family, she asked about you and your father...real father"
"Who!" Lexi snapped.
"Hopper!" She yelled back.
Lexi, Steve and Eddie both looked at Joyce completely shocked.
"What?"
"He doesn't know" Joyce sighed.
"What!" Lexi stood in complete disbelief.
"Your mother had another four kids, they live somewhere in Florida, two boys and two other daughters" Joyce explained.
"How does Hopper not know?" Lexi asked.
"They had a one night stand" Joyce shrugged.
Lexi looked back at Eddie and Steve who stood walking to her.
"Everything I have ever known has been BULLSHIT" she snapped.
"I got beaten by my dad, who isn't even my dad! My mum who I grieved is not even my mum, and Iaan isnt my brother, Lucy and Nikki!" Lexi finally broke into tears.
"I'm sorry" Joyce held her tightly as she broke into the floor.
"I've raised three kids, and they aren't even my siblings. Two of them have no relation to me what so ever" Lexi looked at Lucy who crawled over to her.
"What do we do?" Lexi looked at Joyce.
"I can call Hopper?" Joyce asked as she shook her head.
"Oh god no." Lexi panicked, "He lost one daughter to cancer and he's had another one the entire time he had no idea about and now he's adopted El, I can't dump that on him"
There was a knock on the door, Eddie ran to open it and there stood Dean
"Dude, you have shocking timing" Steve called over.
"You find out who the father is?" Dean asked as he walked in.
"Hopper" Lexi repeated.
"Seriously, Jim Hopper" Dean sighed as he through the paper work on the table.
"Let's just get this done yeah" Lexi snapped standing up and sitting opposite him.
"Okay" Dean grabbed his glasses, sitting at the table being joined by everyone, including Lucy.
"Hye sweet girl" He smiled at Lucy before looking at the paper.
"Okay, to my brother Dean, you get the trailer, the left over money from our fathers business and my car" Dean read out.
"To my youngest, Lucy, your mother will continue sending money to help you, she will be notified of my death and therefore will either come back for you, or Lexi will continue to care for you" Lexi rolled her eyes.
"To my youngest son Nikki, your mother will have no way of getting to you, Dean will now be your full time guardian, and you are to go with him wherever he is"
"What!?" Lexi snapped as Dean looked at her sadly.
"To Iaan, you are to get all of Lily's belongings, she never allowed me to touch her money and only you would be allowed to have it once I passed, you have all her things which are in a bank in LA, you will have to go there with your birth certificate a copy of this will and my bank card."
"To Lexi, unfortunately by now, you would know I am not your real father, no one knows who they are, I couldn't leave you much, by you are now Lucy's full guardian, whether or not her mother comes back, and you will get the rest of my money that will be given to you by my workplace, if I die before I retire, the wife, or the eldest receives that money. I know I was a shitty dad and you'll probably spit on my grave, but you were my eldest daughter, I raised you, and you should get the remaining money" Dean read before opening another envelope.
"This is basically the money your father received from his workplace" Dean explained as he handed her the letter.
She opened it, scanning it quickly, almost passing out at the money she was about to get.
"How much?" Eddie asked her intrigued.
"$15,000" Lexi looked at him in complete shock.
"What?" Joyce and Dean both looked at her in shock.
Lexi looked at the number in complete starstruck.
"Look, Lexi, I know that is a lot of money, so be smart with it" Dean reminded her. "As for the Nikki situation, I don't want you to worry, I am moving back to Hawkins, selling the trailer, selling the rest of my fathers business and opening up a new mechanic shop, Nikki won't be going anywhere" Dean explained.
Lexi stood up and walked over to him, hugging him tightly.
"I can get a deposit on a small apartment with this right?" Lexi asked as Joyce nodded. "I have to tell Hopper though, dont I?" She asked as everyone nodded.
"If I had a daughter, I would wanna know" Eddie suggested as she nodded.

Eddie was over early the next day, in fact he was up before anyone in the trailer.
Letting himself with the emergency key.
Eddie could hear the soft coos of little Lucy from her room.
"Good morning monster" He smiled as he looked down at the precious two year old who smiled up at Eddie.
He gently lifted her out of her bed carrying her into Lexi where he laid down with the infant, Lucy's laugh waking up Lexi completely.
"Well hello" She smiled as she stretched.
"Hello" Eddie smiled as Lucy pounced onto Lexi, making her laugh.
"Do you want a coffee?" Eddie asked as he looked down at Lexi, rubbing the sleep from his eyes, still waking up himself.
"Hmm, sounds great." She smiled as she sat up lifting Lucy effortlessly as she walked to the bathroom to take a shower, popping Lucy down in her seat.
Eddie began making Lexi a coffee as Iaan walked out of his fathers room with a large stretch.
"Morning" Iaan whispered as he grabbed the coffee that he had just made for Lexi.
Eddie rolled his eyes before making another one for Lexi.
"Are you working all day today?" Eddie asked Iaan as he nodded before greeting Lucy with a smile and a kiss on the cheek.
Lexi then walked out of the bathroom, grabbing the coffee as she walked past a towel around her body.
"Can you get Lucy her breakfast, she can have jam on toast, cut two slices into eight pieces" Lexi smiled as Eddie nodded.
"Would her highness be like butter with her jam on toast?" Eddie smiled looking at Lucy with a smile.
"Yes she would" Iaan looked at Lucy with eyes of pure adoration.
"Coming up" Eddie smiled as he began searching for the bread.
Lexi disappeared into her bedroom to get ready as Eddie made Lucy her breakfast.
"I'm leaving in 20 mins, anything you need to know before I go?" Iaan asked Eddie.
"When it comes to getting up the boys, what time am I waking the little shits up?" Eddie smiled as he noticed that they had all gone back into Nikki's room after he went to bed last night.
"No later than 10 or else their parents will kill us. And make sure they all call their families if they aren't going home straight away. Make sure also if you're dropping any of them home, they aren't in the back of your van" Iaan explained as Eddie listened carefully while putting the butter and jam on Lucy's toast.
Lexi came out of her room fully dressed.
A knee high black skirt, with off the shoulder straps khaki green top, knee high socks and her normal doc martens.
Her hair was still wet and her make up not done, but her earrings were in and her rings were on her fingers.
She smiled as she watched Eddie stare at her walking towards him.
"Stop staring Munson" She laughed as she took the plate from his hands before walking towards Lucy to feed her.
"Iaan we are running low on hot water, we need your half of the bills by Thursday. We should have enough to last us till then, I'd say we've got an hour before our hot water goes so short showers dudes" She looked at Iaan who nodded.
"You guys can always use our shower over mine if you need to." Eddie suggested
"Thanks Eds" She smiled gratefully at him.
"Do you want anything to eat?" Eddie asked as Lexi shook her head.
"I just got to take my pill and then I'll be going to get ready," Lexi smiled.
"Wow, what pills?" Eddie asked unaware of any pills, the last thing he heard was she shouldn't be having pills.
"The pill..." She looked at him awkwardly as he finally caught on.
"Ohh" He laughed embarrassedly as she walked away.
Lexi walked out of the bathroom and straight into her bedroom, sitting at her desk to do her hair and make up taking 45 minutes total.
In that time Eddie got Lucy cleaned where she currently sat in the front room watching Scooby Doo while Eddie cleaned for Lexi.
"Thank you" Lexi smiled as Eddie put the last cup back in it's rightful home.
"No worries, you look beautiful by the way" Eddie leaned down to kiss her lips, Lexi happily returning one.
"I've got to get Lucy ready, and then are you okay to drop me to work? It's okay if not, I'm just out of sync slightly so I messed up timings?" Lexi shyly explained as she walked to pick up Lucy who giggled.
"Sweetheart I will happily take you everyday if it means I know you got there safely" Eddie told her in all seriousness as she shyly smiled.
"Thank you" She winked as she took Lucy into her room to get her dressed and ready.
Meanwhile, Eddie grabbed Lucy's carseat, jogging to his van and fasting it in the middle seat knowing that'll be her spot for the next few months.
Just as he was about to go back inside, Lexi met him at the van, a bag over her shoulder, Lucy under the other.
Eddie quickly took Lucy from Lexi's struggling grip with a big smile.
"Show me how this thing works" Eddie looked at the carseat as he followed Lexi into the van.
"Okay, she need to be this way..." Lexi explained as Eddie placed Lucy in the seat. "The these straps join together before being clipped in, see?" Lexi showed Eddie as he watched closely nodding, understanding. "To let her out, you press this red button" She showed but didn't actually do knowing that she was running late.
Eddie jumped into the van and turned the engine on, playing Whitesnake knowing it was Lucy's favourite.
He pulled up to Lexi's work place as she placed her lipstick on, turning to look at her little sister.
"Any issues, call me" She said in all seriousness causing him to nod. "And thank you so much for taking care of her today"Â
She leaned over Lucy to give Eddie a kiss on the cheek leaving a pink mark before jumping out the van and running into work.
Eddie took a deep breath before looking at Lucy who played with her feet with a smile.
"Alright monkey, it's you and me. What are we thinking..." He grinned down at her. "You know what I was thinking the same thing" He laughed to himself before putting the car in gear and driving back to the trailer park.
The first thing he did when he got through the door was that he headed in to Nikki's room, waking them all up.
"Rise and shine dipshits" Eddie yelled as quietly as he could causing most of them to shoot up in surprise.
"What the hell Eddie" Nikki sighed looking up at him with a groan.
"Look, I am in charge of this little lady today, so I need you all to either go away, have fun elsewhere or go home" Eddie sarcastically smiled with Lucy on his hip.
"Alright we will go out" Dustin rolled his eyes while looking at Eddie who smiled.
"Okay then" Eddie nodded while closing the door behind him.
"We, my little lady, are going to wrote some chords, and you can tell me if you think they sound good or not. Then we will get some lunch and watch Scooby, followed by an afternoon walk to see your very gorgeous sister, followed by a joint nap before dinner?" Eddie spoke to the girl as if she knew what he was saying.
Lucy responded with a giggle as he gave her a thumbs up.
Everything for the morning part of the day went well for Eddie as he took care of Lucy.
He loved the little one more than he thought he could and made him realise that this was what he wanted in life, a family.
Being able to be the dad that his never could, having a wife he loved more than life itself.
And he saw that with Lexi.
As Eddie drove to go see Lexi with Lucy by his side he felt almost at peace. Like it was what he wanted forever.
He carried Lucy into the shop on his hip, walking in on raised voices, one of which was Lexi's.
"I'm not going to repeat myself asshole, come into this shop again talking to me like that, I'll make sure it's Shane that deals with you next." Lexi yelled as he fist hit the counter.
"And like I said bitch. If I wanted a whore to give me advice about music I would ask my wife. Now get me someone who knows what the hell real music is!" He yelled back as he watched from a distance, wanting to get in this guy's face, but holding a baby made him a little less intimidating.
"Look. I work here for a reason, I know my shit about music, especially rock music. You asked me if I knew if we had Kix's album in here yet. Which I told you we hadn't. Not yet" Lexi repeated the conversation "I know exactly what album you are on about and I know exactly when it'll be in. If you spoke to me like a civilised human, I would have offered you a pre-order but now, I am telling you to get the fuck out of this shop before my boot is up your ass and your face is in the god damn dirt!" She snapped as the man huffed.
"Fucking slag, I hope you get fired, I'll be telling Shane about your attitude towards customers when he's back" The customer snapped before turning around and heading for the door.
"He'll probably be more pissed that I didn't punch that slapped arse of a face you carry!" She yelled after him as he slammed the door.
She sighed into her hand before walking around the counter and greeted Eddie and Lucy with a needed hug.
"Every single male who has entered this shop today has given me grief. Like seriously, Shane is gone for one day to look after his sick son and I get abused. I'm just so happy to see you both" She smiled as Eddie cradled her face.
"Want me to stick around for a bit, Nikki is out with the little dudes, I've got her highness and you look like you need a break" Eddie kissed her head as she took Lucy from his grip.
"If you wanna, I can't let you behind the counter though" She looked up at Eddie with an apologetic look as he shrugged looking through the records.
"That's fine, you have another 2 hours left of your shift, I can stand around and look for something I like" He smirked as Lexi rolled her eyes.
"Okay, sure. Suit yourself" She smiled as the bell of the shop went off.
"Hi" Lexi greeted the older lady who walked in the door.
The lady gave her a look of disgust before continuing over to the 50s records.
"Okay then, here" Lexi tiredly sighed before handing Lucy back over to Eddie who effortlessly took her with one arm, balancing her on his side as he flicked through the newest record in the shop.
"Excuse me" The old lady walked up to Lexi "I wanted to buy Elvis's first album for my husband, do you have that one?" She asked a little more sweetly than the face she pulled when she first walked in.
"We should, let me have a look for you" Lexi smiled excusing herself to where she swore she had seen that album only that morning
"Is she yours?" The old lady asked Eddie who looked at the lady surprised.
He panicked.
"Oh, this one...Yes" He didn't know why he said it, or that you heard him say it, it just fell from his lips before he could catch the words.
"She's adorable, and is she your partner?" The lady asked as she pointed to where Lexi was.
"Yeah, she is" It was easier than explaining the situation he was in.Â
"You make a beautiful couple, but are you not young? Having a baby is a big responsibility" She worried looking between Lexi and Eddie.
"Yeah but 19 is the new 24" He sarcastically smiled making the lady chuckle.
"Here you are" Lexi came back with the record the lady wanted with an awkward smile.
"Beautiful daughter" The lady squeezed Lexi's hand as Lexi smiled sheepishly at the lady.
"Thank you" Even though Lucy was not her biological daughter, Lucy definitely looked at Lexi like her biological mother, it was all she knew.
"Here, keep the change, buy yourselves a couple of drinks when you can next have a night to yourselves" The lady smiled before walking away.
Lexi looked at her hand to see a $50 bill in her hand.
"The record was only $29" Lexi looked at Eddie shocked as he smiled at her proudly.
"Lex?" Eddie asked, walking up to her.
"Hmm" She responded counting out the change to keep and what to put in the till.
"Now we have a baby together, I was wondering something" He joked as Lexi looked up at him
"What's that" She played along
"You wanna go out tonight?" Eddie asked in all seriousness, causing Lexi to smile.
"Yeah" She smiled
"Yay" Eddie laughed as he pulled her in closer to kiss her.
"Now go home. I'll see you in an hour" She smiled, pushing him away gently.
"Absolutely not, I'll be waiting here for my girl" Eddie smirked walking away to the rock vinyls.
Lexi smiled to herself as she watched him with Lucy, the way she tugged on his hair for support and balance and he didn't even flinch.
The bell to the shop went off once again, but this time Lexi sighed to herself as she saw Billy, Tommy and fucking Carol walk into the shop.
"Wowwww!" Billy yelled out looking at Eddie. "Holy shit Munson, you got that Lexi knocked up quickly." Billy laughed
"Oh and look, it seems like she hasn't lost that baby bump yet" Tommy laughed as he noticed her standing against the counter.
"Out" She snapped without another word.
Eddie's vision went red as he listened to Tommy insult her, he couldn't let it slide.
He walked over to Lexi, giving no word.
As soon as Lexi took Lucy from his hands he walked over to Billy, making Lexi realise how much taller Eddie was over Tommy and how much wider his shoulders were than Billy.
"You heard the lady, out" Eddie warned.
Tommy looked at Billy and then Eddie.
"Go on Billy knock him the fuck out" Tommy asked as Billy looked at Lexi.
"Remember what happened the last time you fucked with someone I care about, and don't forget the time I smashed your car, try me and see what I do next" Lexi warned.
Billy looked at her annoyed before looking at Eddie.
"Get out." Eddie snapped.
"Hey freak, no one was talking to you" Tommy clicked his fingers in his face as Carol laughed.
Lexi put Lucy on the floor before leaning over the counter, grabbing a baseball bat she was told to keep there by Shane for the just in case moments, like this one.
She watched as Eddie grabbed Tommy's hand, twisting it behind his back.
Billy went to grab Eddie by the shoulders but the second he spotted Lexi holding a bat he backed off.
"Let me tell you something Tommy, insult Lexi again, look her way again, I'll break them off" Eddie threatened as Tommy nodded with tears in his eyes.
Tommy laughed before rolling his eyes.
"You heard him, now get out before I put my baseball practice to use" She sarcastically smiled, gripping the bat tighter.
"You know, I was wondering why this place sucked, come on let's go" Carol pulled Tommy away.
"Remember that all you are is somewhere to put there dick Carol, try being something other than a slag for once, get your bitches out of my shop" Lexi sighed walking closer to her, as she pulled Billy and Tommy out of the shop, Lexi closing it and locking it before putting up the closed sign on the door.
"Let's just get out of here" She sighed before grabbing her things and following Eddie quickly out of the shop, locking the door behind her before jumping into his van with Lucy on his hip, placing her safely into her carseat before heading off home.
"Are you sure you are okay?" Eddie asked her again as they stepped into their home, Lexi gently putting Lucy onto the floor as she turned back to Eddie with a smile.
"Yeah, just had a lot of assholes today" She smiled, pushing the hair from her face as Eddie walked over to her with a sympathetic smile.
"You fancy getting drunk tonight?" Eddie teased as she looked at him with a raised brow.
"Why, what did you have in mind?" She asked as she thought.
"How about, instead of a date, we have the gang over, obviously not the little shit heads, but the 'adults'" He said in quotations, "We invite them over for music and games and send Nikki and Lucy to Joyce's obviously if she doesn't mind, which I am sure she won't, you relax, put your feet up and have fun with the people that care a lot about you" Eddie suggested as she sighed happily at the idea.
"Okay, that sounds really great actually, but me and Jonathan kind of fell out, badly" Lexi agreed as Eddie placed a quick kiss on her lips. "But I guess, if he comes, it means he want's to sort it out" She said to herself.
"You go and have a nap, or go listen to music, go put your feet up, let me run around sorting it out, I'll let you know when the plan is all ready" Eddie pushed the hair from her eyes with an adored smile on his face.
"Ok..." She breathed out in relief, kissing his cheek, picking up Lucy on her way to her room for a nap.
Eddie ran around for the following 45 minutes, packing Lucy a bag, packing Nikki a bag, calling Joyce who was happy to take the kids for the night. Calling Nancy and Jonathan, Steve and Iaan who were still at work but said that they would be over straight after. Finally calling the rest of Corroded Coffin who where all in.
He quietly snuck into Lexi's room to see Lucy and Lexi fast asleep, waking Lucy up quietly, he took her to Joyce's.
When he returned back Lexi was still fast asleep, but had to wake her up as everyone was due to arrive in the next hour.
"Hey sweet-face" Eddie gently woke her, she looked around worried, wondering where her baby sister had gone.
"She is at Joyce's, everyone is coming over in the next hour so I thought I should probably get you up, we decided that we will have band practice tomorrow morning, you have the day off right?" Eddie smirked as she yawned.
"Okay, and yeah, I do, thank you for that, I really dont have it in me tonight to play, let me get in my PJs then I will clean the trailer." She sat up stretching.
"Everything is already done" Eddie gave her a smile as he flopped onto her stomach, wrapping his arms around her waist as he laid his head on her chest, Lexi responded by opening her legs slightly to allow him to lay flat, her hands immediately in his hair, like a month to a flame.
"Thank you" She yawned again.
"Better get a shower and into my comfy clothes" Lexi looked down at Eddie as he looked up at her.
"Okay, I will order the food." Eddie nodded, getting up with a sigh, Lexi following as she grabbed her old gym shorts and one of Eddie's larger tops, heading into the bathroom.
Eddie changed himself as he had the bedroom to himself. Placing a pair of grey joggers on, a metallica top, tying his hair back and out the way as he called the delivery guy, ordering Chinese.
He waited for Lexi to walk out the shower, a beer in his hand.
Just as she walked out there was a knock on the door.
"They are early" Lexi smiled as Eddie handed her a beer
"You look cute" Eddie smiled "You should wear my shirts more often" He smirked as he opened the door
She rolled her eyes as she blushed at his words.
She quickly ran into her room as she heard everyone enter.
Placing her hair into a plait as it was still damp, putting on her slippers before running back to the others
"There she is" Steve smiled as he hugged her tightly.
"Hey!" She giggled looking over at his shoulder to see someone he hadn't seen before
"This is Robin. I hope you don't mind. I got myself a job at the mall, we got sent a letter that the mall is opening a week earlier than planned, we got called into a meeting and the HQ of the place, and Robin is my new coworker" He smiled.
Clearly already drunk.
"Of course I don't mind. More the merrier, feel sorry for the poor girl having to work with your stupid ass" Lexi laughed as Steve rolled his eyes.
Jonathan and Nancy stood there awkwardly.
"We wanna apologise, you were right it is none of our business" Nancy began
"I'm sorry, we...are sorry Lex" Jonathan looked at her sadly.
Lexi hugged her best friend Jonathan before giving Nancy a quick hug,
"It's okay, it wasn't exactly a normal conversation" She smiled as they both smiled back. "Let's forget about it and move on" She asked as they both agreed.
Eddie grabbed them all a beer. Jonathan and Steve bring a crate too.
"Is this everyone?" Robin asked
"No, our band is joining us and my brother too later on. Most of them are at work, just easier for them all to come over together" Lexi smiled as she sat on the floor besides Eddies leg.
"You guys have kids?" Robin asked confused as she looked at the photos of the kids around the living room, extremely confused.
"No, I have three siblings, two of which are a lot younger than me, I'm practically their full time parent" Lexi smiled as she thought about her siblings, her everything.
"Oh okay" Robin breathed before joining in on the laughter.
"That reminds me Eddie, my Uncle works at a mechanics shop on the other side of Hawkins, he is looking for an apprentice if you are interested" Lexi asked as he looked at her gratefully.
"Yeah, that sounds good" Eddie smiled in appreciation, looking down at her as Steve looked between them.
He knew what he was getting himself into, he knew that he was going to get jealous, he knew all of that, but it still hurt when he saw them together.
As the night went on the others joined, more drinks were drank, food was eaten and all around everyone had a good night.
Steve stayed a little longer, Robin walking back with Nancy and Jonathan.
"You okay?" Lexi asked looking at a very drunk Steve.
"I'm okay baby, you okay?" He laughed as Eddie laughed, shaking his head behind them.
"Yeah" She smiled as she grabbed him a blanket.
"You want me to stay tonight?" Eddie asked as she shrugged.
"Maybe you can be on Steve watch" Lexi laughed as Eddie looked over to an almost passed out friend.
"I'm fine" Steve waved at the two of them from the sofa.
It just hit midnight, Iaan began to clean up the trailer when the phone went off.
Lexi looked at her brother confused.
She headed to the phone and answered.
"Hello?" She questioned, confused why they were receiving a phone call so late.
"Hey bug..." It was Dean her uncle, "Sorry for the late call" He sounded upset.
"What's up Dean?" She turned worried as both Eddie and Ian looked at her worried.
"I..." He struggled. "Can I come over, I think this conversation might be better done in person" Dean asked as she nodded although he couldn't see her.
"Yeah, of course, see you shortly" She worriedly put the phone down before looking back at the two boys who looked at her worried.
"Dean is coming over..." She began
"Shit" Iaan took a seat as both of their faces fell.
"What am I missing?" Eddie asked, looking between the two of them.
"Dean only ever needs to talk to us in person if someone is dead" Lexi began as Steve sat up.
"Dean has been a better father than our own to us, and we barely see him. But unfortunately most of our memories with Dean consist of us being told about death" Iaan finished.Â

Lexi opened the door to the Byers, greeting Joyce with a smile and a hug before Will and Nikki came charging at her with open arms, hugging her tightly.
"Hey guys" She smiled as Steve greeted Nancy and Jonathan with an awkward smile.
Soon after Lucy came crawling through quickly as she spotted her sister.
"Hey baby girl" Lexi smiled as she picked up Lucy with a smile.
"I've got some good news for you kids" Lexi smiled as Nikki followed her into the kitchen, sitting at the table as Joyce handed her and Steve some juice.
"Dad is going away for a couple months, so that means it's just us. So we are going to head back to the trailer soon, clean the place up and then have a movie night, and if you are good, I'll let the boys stay" She smiled as Nikki bounced out of his seat.
"Can they! We can play DND" Nikki smiled at Will who smiled widely making Lexi laugh.
"Alright, well, if we ask Steve nicely he might go pick up the boys" She smiled at Steve who crossed his arms with a shy smile
"Sure" Steve nodded as Will and Niki ran to pack their stuff before calling Mike, Lucas and Dustin.
"There is one more thing, I need to talk to you about it in private" She smiled as Joyce's face frowned, looking at her confused.
Steve smiled at Lucy as she reached for him, Lexi passing her over.Â
"Come with me" She smiled as Joyce brought her into her room. "What's up honey?" Joyce sat on her bed.
"I am in a bit of a situation-ship right now"
"Did Steve finally ask you out" She whispered, taking her hands in hers.
"Yes" She smiled
"Oh my-" She smiled with Joy, only for Lexi to cut her off.
"So did Eddie" She shyly admitted.
"What?" Joyce looked at her once again confused.
"They both asked me out, they both have feelings for me and I have feelings for both of them, I've kissed them both, slept in their beds, been on dates and the weirdest thing is that they know about each other, they spoke about it before they even spoke to me, and they are fine, there is one rule..."
"No sex?" Joyce guessed as she nodded. "What are you feeling?"
"Ugh, I like them both...a lot, but one day I have to chose between them...I have to decide" Lexi looked at Joyce worried.
"With Steve, its what its always been, we have always felt comfortable with one another, but now there is that sexual tension that makes me wanna jump him, you know..." She cringed at her words, but Joyce encouraged her to continue, "He's always by my side, always has my back, he looks like me like I'm...a queen" Lexi looked at Joyce
"And Eddie?"
"It's always hot, always full of tension, he practically worships the ground I walk on. He punched my dad for me"
"Holy shit, I'm jealous that he got to punch that asshole" Joyce laughed making her smile
"He's...he's the opposite to Steve, but we are so much alike. And he doesn't try to handle me with care you know, he knows I can defend myself, but he also treats me like royalty, but in some ways the same and Steve and then in other ways"
"I think, eventually...things will work themselves out, one day you will just see clearly who you are supposed to be with" Joyce tried to explain. "When you see your future, who do you see that with, other than your family?"
"With Steve.." She sighed "And I see it with Eddie"
Joyce gave her an apologetic look.
"When I see it with Steve, I see us travelling, with lots of kids, I'm still making music, we are living in a cute cottage somewhere far from Hawkins, everything is bright, everything is clean and we are in love, it's fun and filled with laughter" She smiled imagining it.
"With Eddie, I see us touring the world, making music until we die, no kids, no responsibility, fun and full of smiles. I see us settling one day, maybe we adopt a few dogs, surrounded by friends and family. Its different but its the same" Lexi laid back on the bed looking at the ceiling.
"You will figure this out Lex, you always do, and I'm telling you now, those boys will understand whoever you chose" Joyce explained.
Lexi gave her a tight hug.
"Thank you for listening" She smiled
"Hey, it's what I am here for, you know that" Joyce gave her a kiss on the head, the two of them walking back out to the kitchen.
And the minute they did, the air felt wrong.Â
Steve stood between Nancy and Jonathan with his jaw clenched.Â
"Look, I told you guys, I'm fine" Steve smiled, he truly meant it, whether they believed him or not.
"Are you sure?" Jonathan asked again looking at Lexi quickly.
"Positive" Steve smiled at Lexi as she politely squeezed past Jonathan and Nancy and over to stand besides Steve.
"Wait.." Jonathan's gaze dropped to where their shoulders brushed.Â
"Are you two?" Jonathan asked as Lexi looked at Joyce.
"No" Lexi shook her head.
"Oh come on Lex, you're shit at lying to me, always have been"
"How long?" Nancy asked crossing her arms.Â
"When?"
"I thought you liked Eddie?"
They spoke over one another, Lexi struggling to hear the two of them yelling at her.
Lexi unconsciously backed into Steve, getting overwhelmed.
His hand came up instantly, steadying her.Â
"Hey!" Steve yelled making the two of them stop.
"Enough" Joyce shouted at the two of them seeing it was making Lexi uncomfortable.
"It's none of your business anyway" Lexi looked at Jonathan.
"So you are dating?" Nancy asked.
Lexi sighed.
"It's got nothing to do with you guys okay, we are figuring it out" Steve explained.
"Lexi, are you dating Steve or not" Jonathan asked again as Joyce stopped the boys from coming out of Will's room.
Lexi temper finally flared, a spark igniting as she threw he hands up. "Fine, fuck me, you don't give up do you! We are not dating- we've been on dates, and I have also been on dates with Eddie, we are figuring it out, it's got nothing to do with you"
Steve's hand tightened on her shoulder, proud of her for standing up for herself, yet aware of the heat simmering between them and the others.Â
"What?" They both asked.
"Eddie and I like Lexi, so we agreed that we would both take her on dates and see how it goes" Steve sighed.
"That's so messed up" Jonathan sighed looking at his mother who looked pissed off at his choice of words.
"Hey man" Steve looked at him offended.
"And you're just playing them both?" Nancy asked.
"Coming from you?" Lexi snapped making Nancy gulp.
"Hey" Jonathan defended Nancy.
"We going to get into this now?" Lexi gave him a warning look.
"Yeah, let's get into it" Jonathan looked at her pissed.
"Okay enough" Joyce stood in the middle of them.
"You know what Jonathan, I don't know why you can't stand me so much, we both decided to date, to see if we would work and we didn't ever since you have been an asshole" Lexi looked over Joyce.
"Really? You broke up with me!" Jonathan snapped.
"We decided we weren't working, we both called it off!"
"Not to mention you slept with Steve not even three months before we started dating"
"WHAT?!" Joyce and Nancy looked at Lexi and Steve.
"We only slept together then to lose our virginity to one another, Steve fancied a girl, I fancied you, we didn't want to be shit if we had sex with someone else" Lexi looked at Steve who agreed.
"Oh and that meant nothing to either of you?" Nancy questioned as they both fell silent unable to answer.
"Doesn't matter that was years ago" Steve sighed.
"You and Nancy are together and you are happy, Steve is happy for you. I am figuring out what my happy is, and unfortunately right now its two people, I don't control how I feel, but we are all okay with it. I really don't care if your not, because it has nothing to do with you" Lexi snapped looking at the two of them.
Jonathan looked at her annoyed.
"Just go, we will talk another time, I can't look at you right now" Jonathan walked away.
"Look, I don't care what this is, but this could fuck our group up, our friendships up" Nancy looked between them.
"We don't have much of a friendship then if we just survived the upside down together...twice" Lexi looked at her annoyed as she left to go and find Jonathan.
"You okay?" Joyce asked.
"Yeah" Lexi sighed as Steve held her shoulder.
"I'll try to speak to him for you" Joyce smiled. "Look after her tonight, have fun" Joyce looked at Steve
"Always Ms Byers" Steve smiled as he wrapped an arm around Lexi as Joyce went to speak to Jonathan and Nancy.
"You okay?" He whispered into her hair, hugging her.
"Yeah, let's do this movie night" She smiled as he kissed the top of her head, Will and Nikki emerging from Will's room when the shouting went quiet.
"Let's go" Steve smiled as they all headed to get the other boys.
After getting the other three, they headed back to Lexi's.
To her surprise her father had cleaned up the place, having everything thrown out, dishes done and his draws empty.
He hadn't much clothes anyway so he must have taken them all with him.
"Right, you 5" She looked at the group of boys in front of her.
"You have until 8 tonight to play DND, when Lucy goes to bed however, we will be watching a film" Lexi pointed at them, holding Lucy in her arms.
"Yes Lex" They all smiled before running off to Nikki's small room.
"What the hell is going on" Iaan walked in the door as Steve walked around, pretending Lucy was a plane, making her giggle.
"Boys are sleeping over, dads gone, Eddie will be over soon and I need to ring him about food" Lexi smiled at Steve and Lucy.
"What do you wanna do for food?" She asked Steve, he held onto the little girl walking to Lexi.
"Whatever you and Munson want, I'm not fussed" He smiled as she nodded.
She grabbed the phone, calling Eddie's number.
"Hello" His voice came through
"Eddie" She smiled down the phone.
"Sup gorgeous" He laughed "You could have just knocked on the door you know" He teased down the line.
"I know, I was just wondering what you wanna do for dinner? I got some money left from my last pay check, how about pizza?" She twirled the phone chord in her hand as she leaned against the frame.
"Sounds perfect. Shall I come over now?" Eddie asked.
"Yeah, come whenever" She smiled as she had the phone put down on her and before she put her phone back on it's stand the door opened and closed, Eddie standing there with a smile.
"Hey" He smiled before pulling her in for a kiss on the cheek.
"Hey" She smiled widely at him.
"By the way the boys are playing D&D in the other room" She smirked watching his face light up.
"You should have said, I would have come up with a killer campaign for them" Eddie looked proudly at Lexi making her roll her eyes with a smile. "Hey Steve" Eddie smiled as Steve walked out of Lexi's room with Lucy.
"Hey man" Steve smiled.
"You would have competition with Will, he's a genius when it comes to D&D" Lexi explained before disappearing into the kitchen, grabbing the menu and number for the pizza
"Boys!" She yelled, making the five of them run out of Nikki's room. "Pizza order, you get two for the 5 of you. Iaan!" She yelled as he came out of his room with Lucy. "Are you happy to get two pizzas between the four of us?" Lexi asked as he nodded. "Pick whatever toppings you want, money is in my purse, I am going to feed Lucy, get her bathed and ready for bed" Lexi explained as they boys all nodded.
"Munson" Iaan looked at him.
"Jones" Eddie smiled as both of their hard acts fell as they fist bumped one another.
"Are you and my sister official yet?" Iaan asked as Steve and Eddie looked at one another awkwardly.
Iaan placed Lucy's food in the microwave, waiting for it to heat up as Lucy reached for Eddie.
Eddie smiled taking her from Steve as he went to call for the pizza, paying for it himself, not letting Lexi use her money.
"Ah, no" Eddie smiled as Iaan turned to return one, as he took Lucy's food out of the microwave, testing the mush himself as Eddie placed her in her seat.
Eddie excused himself to go and look at the boy's D&D game.
"Iaan, can you fill the bath up enough for Lucy and then the dishes?" Lexi asked as she ran out in her PJs
"Anything I can do for you?" Steve asked as he headed over to help.
"No, thank you, oh actually, sorry could you just grab some PJs for Lucy, they should be folded up on my bed" She asked politely
"Sure" Steve smiled as he walked into her room.
He looked around in her room, finding the PJs.
Taking a moment to look around her room.
The white walls are covered in rock posters, from Joan Jett, Aerosmith, Whitesnake and Scorpion.
A small desk/vanity where she studies and did her make up, everything a mess on top. A picture of her and her brothers stuck to the mirror, another of Lucy as a baby.
Finally one of her mother and her, she was no older than Lucy in the photo.
Her bed was half made, not neatly just thrown back into place.
Her shoes scattering her floor, a clothes rack with all her clothes in another corner.
Her room and his were somewhat a lot alike, except he had laundry everywhere, cigarettes burnt out on his desk, Her room was much more organised. Somewhat clean despite the clutter.
"Well at least my girl knows what style is" Steve smirked to himself as he went to walk out of her room when something caught his eye.
That's when he noticed a photo of him and Lexi in a frame next to one of her and Eddie.
The door opened and closed beside him as she let out a sigh of relief.
"Where'd this come from?" He smiled while picking up the photo.
"Umm" She walked over to what he was talking about. "Oh, you don't remember that day?" She smiled, looking at the photo.
"Why don't I know this photo" He looked at her confused.
"Because you are shitfaced" She laughed, the door opening and closing again.
"Hey" Eddie smiled as he walked over to the two of them.
"When was that taken?" Eddie asked looking at the photo of her and Eddie.
"Jonathan took that at our first show, he only gave it to me the other day, we look hot right" She smiled at the photo and then Eddie.
"You look hot, I look actually hot, like sweaty, im shiny as fuck" Eddie caused Lexi and Steve to laugh as he placed the photo back down.
"Everything okay out there" Lexi asked as Eddie nodded.
"STEVE PJS!" Iaan yelled from the bathroom.
"Shit" Lexi laughed, grabbing the PJs from his hand, walking over to the bathroom and giving them to Iaan who had Lucy wrapped in a towel.
She headed back to the two boys wanting to speak to them in private.
"You okay?" Steve asked, sitting on the bed opposite her as Eddie sat besides her.
"Yeah, I spoke to Joyce about everything today, and I just want to speak to you about one thing" Lexi looked at the two of them.
"I know one day I have to chose between you both, I know that, you know that. But I cannot stand the thought of losing one of you"
"Honey, we have already agreed about this" Steve began
"Whoever you chose, the other person is going to be fine as long as we still have you in our life, romantic or not" Eddie finished for Steve.
"Okay" She smiled.
"I just have one question?" Eddie asked making Steve and Lexi look at him waiting. "Who gets to stay the night tonight and who gets to cuddle during the film"
Lexi couldn't help but laugh
"No one is sleeping the night, and no one gets to cuddle. When we are all together, we are a group of friends hanging out, not in a weird triangle okay" Lexi explained as they both nodded in agreement.
"Sounds good"
Eddie smiled just as there was a knock on the door.
"Pizza" Lexi smiled as she hopped off the bed, walking back to her living room.
"Pizza!" She yelled before opening the door.
"What the hell?" She snapped looking and no other than the weirdo who used to be obsessed with her, someone who had a crush on her for years and someone she would never date.
"Hey Lexi" He smirked just before Steve popped next to her with the money, wrapping an arm around her waist.
"Here bud" Steve gave Paul the cash as he smiled.
"Steve Harrington huh?" Paul looked at Lexi who looked the guy down, Steve looked at her and then Paul.
"Paul? Right?" Steve smiled, taking the pizza from his hands.
"Yeah. I am the ex" Paul looked Steve up and down making him laugh.
"Never dated" Lexi corrected.
"Hurry up I need food" Eddie walked over to the door.
"Who's this guy?" Eddie asked
"A no one" Steve smiled before pulling Lexi away and slamming the door in his face.
Lexi laughed as the boys ran from Nikki's room, sitting on the floor and the sofa as Lexi turned on the TV.
Eddie, Steve and Lexi squeezed on the sofa next to Iaan who had Lucy under his arm while the boys sat on the floor.
"What are we watching?" Dustin asked before shoving a slice of pizza in his mouth.
"Goonies" Nikki answered as the boys cheered.
"You 5 can have the front room tonight, but no noise after 8, deal?" Lexi asked as she looked at Lucy already drifting off to sleep.
Half way through the movie Lexi got up, picking up Lucy in her arms, rocking her slowly to help her stay asleep.
Eddie watched her walk behind the sofa, up and down keeping Lucy calm.
"You want a hand?" Eddie whispered, watching as she slowly shook her head.
Steve had fallen asleep on the sofa, head resting on the back of it.
Eddie laughed before carefully getting up, collecting the empty pizza boxes, passing Lexi and out the front, walking down to the bins.
Noticing something off in the distance.
He began walking closer to realise that Paul was sitting on top of his car with a cigarette between his lips.
"Hey man" Paul smiled with his arms crossed
"Hey, what the hell are you doing here man?" Eddie asked, looking at him suspiciously.
"Just keeping an eye on my girl's place, she seems to have gotten herself in a position where she has invited a freak into her home" Paul snapped.
Eddie laughed through his teeth
"I'm afraid she wasn't ever your girl. I think before I do something I won't regret but will probably get in trouble for, you should fuck off and crawl back into whatever hole you've been hiding in. Get lost" Eddie warned as Paul jumped off of his car, throwing his cigarette down, licking his teeth with a smile. Walking past Eddie with a shit eating grin before getting in his car and driving off without another word.
"Eddie!" He heard that angelic voice whisper/yell his name, making him turn around to see her heading towards him, arms tightly wrapped around her body as the winter evening chill was intense.
"Hey, sorry, I just had to sort out a pest." He laughed as she rolled her eyes.
"I saw what happened. I'm sorry about him, he is obsessive" She warned.
"I dont think he will be a problem anymore" Eddie smirked as he took her hand in his as he walked back to the trailer.
She smiled looking up at him before locking the door behind them.
The kids had built a fort in the time it took Eddie to take out the trash, they all sat under the blankets watching their next film, Steve still not moving.
Iaan had just headed to bed.
"Alright, I'm heading to bed, you wanna stay up or..." She began to ask.
"No I will go home and to bed, I am so tired" Eddie smiled as she looked over to the boys. "I think Steve is here for the night" Eddie smiled.
"Yeah, all part of his plan probably" Lexi smiled as Eddie nodded.
"It's fine Lexi, I've got you tomorrow night" Eddie winked as he kissed her lips quickly and quietly, leaving the trailer.
"Steve" She shook him slightly.
"Good luck waking him, he's like sleeping beauty" Dustin laughed.
"Just keep it down" Lexi laughed as she walked off to bed. "Night kids" She smiled.
Lexi headed into the bedroom.
She flopped on her bed.
Not even a minute later the door opened.
She looked up to see Steve.
"I knew it" She laughed as Steve smiled at her.
"It worked" Steve laughed as he flopped on her making her laugh.
"You are evil"
"No, I am playing the game right, yes I am keeping it natural and if you chose Eddie at the end of this I won't be mad. But if I know one thing, that's how to make you happy, and I knew that I would make you smile if I stayed" Steve looked down at her as he weaselled his way between her legs, looking deeply into her eyes.
"You Steve Harrington are going to get in trouble" Lexi pushed the hair from her face.
"Meh, worth it" He smiled before leaning down and kissing her lips with a smile.
Lexi melted into the touch, holding Steve close as the kiss deepened.
"Steve" She whispered.
"I know" He moved impossibly closer to her. "Just relax, it's not going any further" Steve whispered kissing her again.
Lexi's breath increased.
It was so wrong, but so right
"Steve, we have to stop" She gently pushed him back.
"I know" He sighed.
"I don't want to, and that's the problem" She admitted.
He looked at her.
"This is going to be harder than I thought"
"I know, I can feel it" She tried to hold in her laugh, only for it to slip from her lips making Steve close his eyes before laughing.
"I am going to go home" Steve sighed. "Because I need to keep my promise to Eddie, and right now, I really don't want to" Steve admitted.
"Yeah, I think it's probably the best idea" Lexi looked up at him as he got off of her.
"Goodnight Lex" Steve smiled, looking at her as she smiled back.

She looked around seeing she was in a familiar yet strange surrounding.
It seemed she was in school, everything was in its rightful places, but it was dark, and the place was filled with large dust particles, just like the ones in the upside down.
She had never been there, but the hive tunnels were exactly like this.
"Steve?" She called out, "Jonathan?" She looked around yet still there was no one.
"Eddie!" She screamed, tears threatening to fall when she realised she was truly alone in the upside down.
"Lexi" A voice echoed in the large school halls.
Fear crawled up her spine...
Lexi couldn't find the person the voice belonged to, so she ran.
Pushing the sports hall doors open quickly, she fell to the ground with a thud.
"Lexi" Her father stood above her.
"Dad?" She scrambled to her feet.
"Lexi, why weren't you there?" He asked as he began to fade
"What?" She called out as she walked towards his body.
"You left me to die alone" He whispered before turning into the particles that surrounded her.
"Lexi" Another voice called out to her, this one was not her fathers.
This voice was deeper, meaner and darker.Â
"What do you want from me!" She yelled.
"You'll kill them all, they will all die Lexi. And it will be because you couldn't save them" It told her.
She frantically looked around trying to find anything that led to the voice she was listening to.
"Stop" Lexi's voice broke.
"You will be the death of all your friends and everyone you love"
Lexi looked towards where she entered the hall, seeing something wall past the door.
She ran towards it, opening the doors quickly to see no one.
She looked left,
Nothing.
She turned right to come face to face with a demogorgon whose mouth was open, teeth on show.
She screamed, only for it to be cut off with nothing.
Eddie woke up to Lexi screaming beside him.
He had carried her to bed after she had fallen asleep, knowing they couldn't stay on the sofa like they were.
But it startled him, waking to her screaming.
He sat up quickly, rubbing his eyes intensely to adjust to the sudden wakening, looking at her sadly before gently shaking her trying not to startle her
She rolled on her back crying, covering her eyes as she calmed herself.
Looking up at Eddie who looked at her worried.
"You're okay sweetheart" He reminded her as he rubbed her head gently, calming her, grounding her.
She was covered in sweat, her heart rate was beating out of her chest, he was sure he could hear it. Her face was stained with tears.
So broken and fragile.
Lexi simply looked up at Eddie with pleading eyes.
"I'm sorry" She apologised as she rubbed her face in exhaustion.Â
But without a word he leaned down, one arm wrapping around her back where she laid, the other going behind her neck as he nuzzled his head into her neck, placing gentle, sweet kisses on her shoulder.
Lexi engulfed him, needing that feeling of protection, holding onto him like her life depended on it, she felt like she needed to, because if she didn't, she would simply disappear.
A few hours passed and Lexi had slept through Eddie's alarm, making him wake up alone.
He walked carefully out of the bedroom and to the front room where he made himself something to eat.
Today was Thursday, and Thursday was the day he had to go to Reefer Ricks house to get his new supply, but he didn't want to leave Lexi, especially not alone.
He sat pondering for ages, staring into nothing, tapping his rings against the table as he sat thinking about her nightmare last night.
She was screaming, physically begging for help.
He had never seen anything like it in his life.
It scared him.
He sat there tapping his rings as he thought, finally standing up and grabbing the phone, calling Steve.
"Harrington residents" A woman said from the other side of the line.
"Oh, Hi. Is Steve there?" He was taken back by the voice, never expecting her to be home.
"Steven! The phone" She called for her son.
Faint background commotion could be heard before the phone was obviously grabbed.
"Steve" He sighed down the line.
"Hey, I don't wanna dump this on you, but I have somewhere to be in about an hour, but Lexi...She had a bad nightmare last night and barely slept, she is still asleep and I don't want her alone, can you come over?" He asked as he looked back at his room where the sun was beginning to really shine through.
"Yeah, no problem man. I'm on my way." Steve nodded as he put the phone down, getting changed and into his car
Lexi woke up around 30 minutes after Steve had arrived and Eddie left.
She walked out into the front room, groggy and completely confused when she saw Steve sat there instead of Eddie.
"Did I enter a weird reality as I slept? Is Eddie currently in a mansion with his family getting his hair shampooed for him?" She sarcastically rolled her eyes.
"Someone is in a mood" Steve looked up at her before looking back down at his paper.
"Yeah well, I barely slept," she sighed.
"Nightmares are back, huh?" Steve asked as she nodded, grabbing some coffee and sitting opposite.
She thought back to everything she felt last night, she was truly petrified of whatever it was.
"Can you take me to Joyce's?" Lexi shyly asked as Steve nodded.
"Yeah, whenever you're ready we can go" He smiled sweetly at her.
"Okay, thanks" She took a mouthful of her coffee before looking at whatever Steve was doing, "Sorry bout that" She apologised for her previous comment.Â
"It's okay baby"Â
"What's that?" She asked looking at the paper in front of him.Â
He looked up at her confused and a little shocked.
"Oh you know, the winter break homework we've been given" Steve shrugged sarcastically.
"Right...Yeah I just can't be bothered anymore." She sighed as she headed to the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
She placed her mug down, looking at herself in the mirror.
She slept in all her makeup, again.
Lexi removed the leftover makeup before brushing her teeth.
Turning on the shower while she tackled her hair.
Looking in the mirror she simply just sighed before opening up the cabinet.
Her fingers traced along the different bottles of pills.
Her hand hovered over the sleeping pill, no...
No.Â
"Don't be stupid" Lexi closed the cabinet door frustrated with herself, she was doing better.Â
So much better.Â
The therapy helped.
Eddie and Steve helped.
No way was she going to let them down.Â
Stepping into the shower she washed her body, her hair with whatever Eddie had there for her, letting the water wash away all the pain from last night.
She exited the shower with a towel around her body, her mug in her hand.
Giving Steve a quick smile before disappearing into the bedroom.
She changed into a pair of flared black trousers, a cropped long sleeved turtle neck and a large flannel over the top.
Placing on her high-tops.
"You look cute. Ready?" Steve questioned as he took her bag from her.
She nodded, grabbing her large black coat before following Steve outside.
He placed her bag in the back as she got in the passenger side.
Entering the drivers side Steve began the engine and began off to the Byers.Â

Do you ever feel like thereâs barely any real support for writers anymore? Like youâre creating alone and wishing for actual feedback and encouragement?
We want to change that.
Weâre building a group for writers who want help with their writing / writers who want to help others grow. Beta readers, co-writers, idea bouncing, feedback, and encouragement.
Our goal is to help writers improve their skills, feel confident in their work, grow their platforms, and make the writing/fanfic community feel like a community again.
If you enjoy helping others, we really need you. Readers, advice-givers, editors, idea people â anything youâre comfortable offering matters and is appreciated.
If you want support with your writing, or to join in helping,
This includes respecting boundaries and civil language. Putting yourself and your work out there is hard enough and we will not tolerate any bullying on this platform. If anyone feels they are being treated poorly or spoken to in a poor way, PM either Deirdre or Gwynn.
2. Clarify any serious tags and check an editorâs preferences before asking them to read your work.
Some editors/commenters may not feel comfortable reading dead dove, non-con or smut. Please be as clear as possible with your writing tags before asking an editor to read your work.
We are also aware that long form content tags can change. So long as the editor/commenter is informed of the new tags prior to the next chapter, and is comfortable, then everyone can have a good time.
3. Agree on a level of edit or what you are asking for from the feedbacker/editor before starting.
If you want to know what people like and that it is, tell us! If you want a harder critique also make that clear. These boundaries are to keep both parties comfortable and clear with intention. Writing is precious and sensitive and we aim to treat everyone with the care it deserves.
If you like, you can agree to change these levels at a later date but just be clear what you would like.
4. Feedback is a suggestion, not an order.
Any advice given is considered at the discretion of the author. However unless explicit or excessive, the advice of the feedbacker is not a personal attack either. If you feel discussions are too harsh or are in need of assistance, please PM Deirdre or Gwynn for assistance.
5. Distribution of documents must have explicit permission from the author.
Some authors are ok with sharing to a group, however not everyone. We take this trust in your work seriously and will respect your level of privacy.
6. Plagiarism will not be tolerated.
If an idea is come up with in the group chat and several people use that idea for a prompt then is not plagiarism, because this is fanfiction we are writing, but lifting lines or writing directly from another persons work is not ok.
7. Donât harass the editors. Whilst we are a passionate group we unfortunately have full time school/jobs as well. If you are curious you can ask for a time, as we all are excited to interact, however if we have deadlines, finals, holidays, tests or undisclosed life issues please give us the time we need.
8. Editors/commenters have the right to refuse or pass on a work at any time.
Whilst it is polite to give a reason, they are also not obligated to give one. Please respect boundaries of the folks that give their time to form this community. Any indication that an author is not respecting the boundaries of a reader/commenter/editor at any time will result in a warning or removal from their server.
9. An author can request the removal of an editor from their work at any time.
Again, whilst it is polite, an author is not obligated to give a reason should they be uncomfortable sharing their work. Any indication that an editor does not respect that wish will result in a warning or removal from the server.
Ok, now that the serous stuff is out of the way, letâs have some fun.
Let us warmly welcome you to the Writerâs Guild!

After a couple minutes of driving in silence, they stopped in the middle of nowhere.
"Was this your plan all along? Are you going to kill me Munson?" She smirked as he rolled his eyes before nodding sarcastically.
"Yeah, remember most of the time in horror movies, the hot girls boyfriend is usually the killer" He smirked
"That's funny because I don't have one of those?" She cocked her head as he scrunched his nose at her playfully.
"Not yet you don't" He winked before climbing into the back of the van from the front seat.Â
She watched him struggle before giving him a shove causing Eddie to yelp, laughing, then he commando crawled to the back door before opening them.
She looked outside of the van and was star struck.
She climbed out of the van like a normal person usually would and walked around the side of the van.
"How did you find this place?" She walked next to him, them both looking at a small lake, a waterfall filling the silence.
Moonlight hitting every surface.Â
It was run down, overgrown with grass and vines, but it was...Beautiful.
"Eddie this is stunning" She looked around as he looked at her face.
Lexi's mouth was slightly ajar.
Her face was in awe.
She was still a little shiny from their performance earlier on, but the slight sweat of her skin just reflected in the sunset, she looked like a goddess in his eyes.
How her lashes were so thick and black around her green eyes. Her blonde hair is still somehow perfect.
Her bright pink lips turned into a small smile as he was caught.
"Are you just going to stare at Munson?" She laughed as he shook his head, wrapping her into his side, hand lazily around her shoulder as he looked at the lake in front of him.
"Wanna go swimming?" He asked her with a smirk.
"I don't have anything to swim in?" She laughed before she caught on.
"No. No, but you have underwear on right?" His face dipped down to hers and she laughed.
"Yes Munson." She laughed as he placed a quick stolen kiss on her lips.
One of the things she loved about Eddie, he never hesitated, never his how he felt. Â
Eddie grabbed a headband off of his wrist and tied his hair in a man bun.
"You should wear your hair like that more often. '' She smirked as she followed his action before kicking off her shoes.
"Does this turn you on Jones?" He playfully teased as he removed his shirt and kicked his shoes off.
"Last one in's a smelly weirdo!" She playfully yelled as she pulled off her skirt and sprinted to the lake.
"Hey!" Eddie yelled as she threw off his trousers, chasing her quickly.
She jumped in, resurfacing in time to see Eddie jumped into the water, covering her with a splash.
She let out a laugh as he reappeared, swimming right towards her.
"Looks, like you are a smelly weirdo" She laid on her back a float as Eddie admired her.
She wasn't like all the other girls.
Her skin was pale, lack of sun meant she had non bronze shine.
Her body was filled with freckles and moles, knowing one day he will join the dots, just to see if an image can be created.
She had curves, thicker thighs, a slight tummy, but all of that was pure bliss, she may not be the standard beauty type, but in his eyes she was a real woman.
The type you would look at in a Greek mythology book.
And she didn't care about a single thing in the world.
Lexi had her insecurities, but her body wasn't one.
She loved her extra curves.
The strawberry legs she got from shaving just gave her character, her thicker thighs that would stick together and chaff in the heat was painful, but definitely not to look at.
Eddie found himself staring, so he snapped himself out of it, splashing her as she floated on her back on top of the water.
She gasped in shock and over exaggeration, pretending to be deeply offended as Eddie smiled at her widely.
She splashed him back, covering him completely as he stared at her.
"Oh. It's on baby" Eddie laughed as he swam towards her.
She shrieked out playfully, swimming away from him as he chased her down, catching her and pulling her towards him.
He hung on her back as she pretended he was drowning her, but Eddie would never let that happen.
She turned back to look at him, wrapping her arms around his neck as he held onto her waist looking at one another with a smile.
"Wanna make this our spot?" Eddie laughed as he swam around holding onto her, keeping her as close as he could.
"Hmm" She nodded, relaxing into his touch. "I like it here" She smiled.
Although it was cold, the summer was soon approaching, the heat from the performance at the club, as well as the heat they radiated through one another kept them warm enough.
"I like you," Eddie teased as she looked into his wooden eyes.
"I like you too Eds" She smiled as he placed another kiss on her lips, a little longer, with the same emotion being portrayed.
"So, I think I may have written a song." Eddie announced as they sat on the rocks under the waterfall, having to shout under the loud noises of the water.
"You'll have to play it for me" She smirked, leaning into his shoulder.
Eddie turned, placing his head on hers.
At that moment, Eddie felt so at peace with the world.
If you asked this metalist to express his feeling right in that moment, he couldn't.
It felt pure.
Secure.
Real.
He would cry if it wasn't for that voice in his head telling him to grow up.
Eddie looked down at Lexi's shivering figure.
"Come on sweetheart" He stood helping her up off the slippery rocks, walking through the waterfall and around the edge of the lake.
Holding onto her hand tightly to make sure she wouldn't slip.
They got to the van, Eddie opening it and grabbing a towel, wrapping Lexi in one.
He took his hair out before towel drying it.
"Frizzy" She laughed as she looked up at his wild brown curls that had expanded.
"Here, I brought you something comfortable" He pulled out a bag from the back, pulling out a pair of boxers, black joggers and a large Hellfire shirt.
"Thank you" She smiled as he let her change in the van.
While she changed inside, he quickly changed his boxers, playing on a dry pair, a pair of grey cargos and a Motley Crue shirt.
"Done?" She called out as he opened the doors again, her practically disappearing in his clothes.
"You look adorable" He smiled as she playfully rolled her eyes.
"I wanna hear this song" She pulled him arm towards the van where they both climbed in.
Eddie began to dig around in his bag, holding up some weed with a questioning face.
"Now that's a plan" She smiled as he began to roll a joint.
She grabbed her guitar, placing it on her lap.
"What's it called?" She questioned, rolling a pick over her fingers.
"Here's to us" He smirked as he placed the joint in his lips, lighting it up, illuminating his face in the dark van.
Eddie leaned over and turned on a small lanturn that he kept in the back incase of a late evening in the van.
"Got any chords?" She questioned.
"Yup" He nodded as she handed him the guitar.
"Okay" He nodded as he began to play the chords.
Lexi leaning back onto her hands, watching and simply listening, joint hanging from her lips.
It was slower than their usual music.
"Here's to us. Here's to love. To all the times that we've fucked up"Â Eddie sang, amazing Lexi at the voice he had.
"Here's to you. Fill the glass. Because the last few nights have kicked our ass"Â He sang beautifully
He continued to sing, hitting notes she had no idea he had in him before pulling out a solo.
He finished the song.
"I thought that all of us could sing, because the boys surprisingly can" He brushed off as she continued to just look at him in shock.
"What..." He questioned with his eyebrows raised.
"Since when could you sing like that? Why aren't you the lead singer?" She leaned forwards
"Uhh...Because I'm the lead guitarist?" He smiled as she climbed onto her knees.
"Eds, your voice is so good, it's so...."
"Hot?" He laughed as she pushed him playfully
"Yes, but you are really talented" She complimented.
"Thanks sweetheart" He winked pulling the guitar down and taking his turn on the joint as she laid back, looking out to the lake in the dark, the moon now fully out and reflecting on the water.
"We should write songs for you to sing too, because I play guitar, we could be so different from other bands if we have two main singers who have independent songs, like...come on that would be awesome." She smiled.
"Maybe sweetheart, we will have to talk to the boys about it" Eddie smiled back at her excited face.
They laid in comfortable silence for a few minutes when Lexi finally said what had been on her mind all evening.
"I think I have to adopt the kids," She admitted.
"Adopt?" He questioned.
"Become their legal guardian" She looked up at Eddie who nodded.
"You practically are anyway Lexi" He smiled as he took the cigarette from her lips.
"I know, but I don't know if I will be able to live my dream, going to college to study music, or just become famous with the band" She smiled at him.
"Well you've got the dream, you have to go for it. I will support anything you want to do. And let's face it, I can help you, I love looking after Lucy and I think Nikki likes me." Eddie bounced.
"They love you" Lexi smiled, "They love all of you guys, I guess I found my family" She smiled. "You, Steve, Nance and I mean I've always had they Byers" She smiled, "I've had more of a family in the last year than I felt like I ever have"Â
Eddie smiled at her sweetly, allowing the van to fall into silence.Â
"Come on, I brought us movies for the trailer. Popcorn and beers?" Eddie laughed as he jumped off trying to take her mind off of things.
"Let's go" She smiled as they both got back into the trailer, travelling back to Eddie's trailer.
Once they got in Eddie allowed Lexi to get a shower while he got her a new change of clothes while he put on some oven baked pizzas .
Once she finished and got changed they swapped, Eddie showered while Lexi got the snacks, beers and blankets set up.
She quickly made a call to Joyce, making sure the kids were okay with her as their father was still home, Joyce always telling her she was happy to have Nikki and Lucy for another night.
She was so thankful for Joyce, no matter when she would be there for her.Â
She waited for Eddie in his boxers and a Metallica shirt, under the blanket, a cigarette between her lips, while a beer in hand waiting for Eddie.
He left his room with a pair of black sweats and his clean hellfire shirt, having his hair tied in a low bun, smiling at the view in front of him, she was just simply admiring the boy in front of her.
"What film do you wanna watch?" He asked as he checked on the pizza's.
"What horror films did you get?" She sat up excitedly, horror was her favourite.
The thrill and jump-scares always keep you on the edge.
The gore that makes your stomach turn but somehow wanna keep watching.
The production amazed her, horror was the best.
"I got The Fog? and ...Halloween?" He looked at the cases as the timer went off for the pizza.
The Fog.
Her favourite.
"Well, The Fog is my favourite film" She explained as he smiled at her.
"Yeah, Dustin said it was' ' He gave her a cheeky smile as she rolled her eyes.
Eddie grabbed the plates of food, placing them in front of them before placing the tape into the TV, joining her under the blanket.
As the opening credits began she got comfortable, taking a bit of the pizza that was perfectly done, Eddie had added more cheese, perfect amount.
Eddie laid back, one arm on the back of the sofa, the other used to put the pizza in his mouth.
"When's your birthday?" Lexi asked Eddie who looked down at her quickly before grabbing another slice of pizza.
"Ugh, May 1st." He questioned why she had a sudden interest. "Why?" He asked with a smile before taking a swig of beer.
"Because I am buying you a better blanket, but it'll have to be for Christmas" She laughed as he rolled his eyes.
"Well Christmas is what, three weeks away" Eddie smiled.
"I'm not a fan of Christmas," She admitted. "But my family does have their tradition"
"Yeah, Wayne and I don't like Christmas. So, we go for a few days, go for a drive somewhere, sleep in the van. We go to a driving range and just smack golf balls until we physically can't. Then we smoke weed together. It's the best" Eddie smiled as she nodded at their tradition. "You?" Eddie looked at her.
"Well, my birthday is on the 21st of January, and Christmas is no better, so usually I would just go to Benny's but he died. So I can't do that anymore. He would give me my favourite pie and let me stay there for the day. I would go to the Byers, that's where I would celebrate and stay until Christmas is over, and then when Christmas day came around I would be woken up early by Will and Nikki where he would talk me through his drawings or DND, then everyone else would join, I would make breakfast and they would all exchange gifts. Thankfully they understand my situation and because I can't afford to give them all gifts I usually buy them all one. Like last year I brought Jonathan a video camera, but that way they can all use it. They buy me something and then I would spend my time with my family. Iaan and I would go halfsies on the kids' gifts, and then buy one for each other, but we love doing that.." Lexi shrugged feeling guilty about not seeing the Byers recently.
"Wait. Sorry, when is your birthday?" Eddie sat up straight as someone screamed on the TV, causing them both to quickly look over before continuing back on their conversation.
"21st Of January?" She asked as he began to panic that it was 5 weeks and he had to get her something. "Before you start planning anything, I don't like my birthday" She pointed at him with stern eyes.
"Okay..." He hid his smile but knew exactly what he was going to get her.
"Eddie, I'm serious, do not get me anything" She grabbed his face making him look at her, cheeks pushed together with a pout, making her serious face turn into a smile.
"Ouch" He said without a single thread of emotion, making her laugh and let go where he placed another kiss on her lips.
"No promises" He winked as he wrapped an arm around her.
She laid her head on his shoulder as she continued to watch her favourite film in comfortable silence.
Before she knew it her eyes got heavier, forcing themselves shut, causing her to go heavy on Eddie's shoulder, indicating it was time for bed.
"Ready for bed sweetheart?" He quietly asked her.
"No," She answered tiredly. "I wanna stay here for a little longer," She admitted.
She felt comfortable at home.
More relaxed than she had ever been.
Nothing clouded her mind.
There was just simple peace.
"Okay" He whispered as he kissed her head, turning the movie down in volume, knowing it was over soon.
She continued to fight her eyelids until she physically couldn't anymore.
