I love your work! I'm just getting started in embroidery, and your level of skill is definitely way out of my league at this point, but I was wondering if you could tell me what kind of stitch you use for your lettering? I'd like to practice it, because your letters look so much more neat and pretty than mine do!

I alternate between the stem stitch and the outline stitch for my letters. I don’t know how so many other people can make the back stitch work, because that’s a popular lettering stitch, too. Mine always look wonky when I try it, so I stick with my two main squeezes.

Hi! I just kinda stitched that one at random, changing colors and areas depending on how sick I was getting of where I was at. They’re just a bunch (and I mean a **BUNCH**) of basic straight stitches very close together and not in a uniform way.

Hi! All the work you do is absolutely beautiful! You're so so talented and sweet. I'm fairly new at embroidery. I was wondering if you could give me some tips on how to transfer patterns onto my fabric I want to embroider? I've used iron on ones but what other ways do you suggest?

Hi! You are too nice and need to stop it already! Here’s a helpful link to get started with pattern transfers. I mostly use technique #2 (but with a light box) for light-colored fabrics and technique #3 for darker fabrics (with white carbon paper).

Guys, seriously, stop reading this and get your cute butts over there. She is a trove of knowledge that you cannot ignore if you want to embroider. How long have you been embroidering things? You are truly an artist! I just finished my first project, but it was all in backs stitching, I'm trying to decide what to do next! This page is super inspiring. :) What's a good picture type thing for a beginning to do? My first project didn't turn out too shabby either, if I do say so myself. :)

I have been embroidering for serious for a few years now, but I learned how to do it as a kid so I couldn’t give you a definitive timeline. I’m not sure what to suggest for you to try! What do you like? What do you want to see on your wall that isn’t available? If you want to go for something that’s a pretty straightforward line drawing, get your cute buns over to Sublime Stitching and check out their available patterns. Everything is cute and looks pretty easy to do.
