He was wondering whether he should be getting home when something stopped him. In fact, Takeru insisted to tell himself that it was rather a who than a what, but the turmoil of butterflies, birds bees and all buzzing flying things inside his stomach was the actual reason of stopping him. He always felt nervous around certain types of people, or more like, an specific type of men. But, being an actor, controlling his feelings was his job and not only behind a camera and onstage. It was a far better choice to demonstrate how Takeru was nice and inviting rather than uneasy or shut.
He was gazing blankly through the glassy walls of the lounge and his own reading glasses he was too lazy to remove after putting the book aside on a table for two, nursing a glass of tonic and lemon sometimes when a friendly figure grasped him out of his reverie and brought him towards the opposite corner of the bar to meet a new face. One Takeru have seen already and could even name, but greeted and let their mutual friend to introduce them properly either way. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Henney-san.” He bowed softly with a smile that lit up his whole face. Despite the before stated nervousness.

The subtle and less subtle differences of nationalities are Daniel’s guilty pleasure, one he never speaks about out loud. There’s no denying of obvious lines on a Japanese face, and the kid he is introduced to, possesses some of the finest he’s ever seen.
Kid, well. A man, to be sure, but Daniel prefers to call his new acquaintance that privately, due to the mentioned appearance, and other, very intimate reasons all of his own.
Of course being here meant being swarmed by known and unknown faces, perhaps especially after his latest breakthrough in the world of television. This one, named Takeru, with his large and somewhat provoking eyes, surely recognized him, that much was clear in the way their eyes met.
Daniel bows back, briefly, sloshes the amber colored drink around the glass in his hand. There’s little room for such forced politeness in his Western ways, a hand in his pocket, his back somewhat arrogantly straight. He drinks, looks down his nose at Takeru, the intensity of gaze telling of things that are yet to reach his tongue. As they do, he swallows, suppresses the strong ever present desire to hand out compliments. “Pleasure. But I admit I have no knowledge about the Japanese movie industry, at all. Less than your average guy.” Daniel gestures, an apology in motion. “But I have seen your face before.” A frown. “Somewhere.”
This doesn’t have to turn into a conversation, neither a socializing, at all. But if he’s honest, if he toes the improper line of stereotyping, he does find such visual demureness attractive, no matter how deep under the skin it truly goes.
If arrogance was there, Takeru most certainly did not and would not notice. He was two things; first, too mesmerized with the size and the very face of the man in front of him. Made him, who was slightly above average of Japanese men, feel small, and second, his own Japanese manners were rooted merely as he was used to it, accustomed by now with meeting different sorts of demeanor.
All the actor did was to offer an even bigger grin at Daniel's words, one of sheer empathy. "I am not surprised, really. Japanese movie industry still is quite nationalized, people might know my face from here to Thailand at most." He gave a sunny chuckle. "I've been to the country a couple of times and an old cooking show I did years ago went viral over there..."
He ended up ranting without meaning to, as Takeru often did. His glasses laid on the middle of his nose, slipping bit by bit until he finally pushed it up his nose. "Oh really? Well... if you spent time in Japan then you might have seen a post bearing my face in Shibuya. Or if you watch Netflix, I'm also in there somewhere." He had to chuckle again, a hand going to the back of his black hair and the other still holding a book going to Takeru's own waist. "You can imagine my surprise, when I was watching LOST and suddenly saw it on the newly added movies!" The actor laughed once more, his cheeks growing shy dimples as he did so.
"I'm ranting too much, aren't I? Hey, Tanaka-san" Takeru turned at their mutual friend standing next to them, giving his arm a nudge of his elbow. "You need to poke me when I do that!" The man only laughed and turned at the taller of the three with wick in his eyes. "I think I'll let Daniel do that for me." And Takeru laughed again, a clueless thing. "As long as someone stop me. Henney-san, if I may ask, are you in Tokyo over work?"
