The few scars on his face might have suggested another story, however, he could only hardly call the brawl where he had gotten them from combat experience: Knocked UNCONSCIOUS by a precise punch to the mouth.

A painful jolt through his arm, a brief flicker of green at the edge of his field of vision and his hand instantly clenched into a tight fist again, dim light glowing through his closed fingers. His heart beat resounded almost DEAFENING inside of his ears, his hands visibly trembling as a shaky hiss escaped him.

BRANDED; the clear evidence of his guilt for a crime he hasn’t even committed.

He hadn’t been supposed to be at the Conclave in the first place, merely a formal ERROR. But now those who didn’t were of the opinion that he has killed the Devine expected from him - merely a bureaucrat in the service of the Chantry, a man who has never served a blow or started a fight - to battle murderous, men-eating demons from the Fade.

Roderick felt so terribly, terribly OVERWHELMED by all of this, too small for a position that was so big; and definitely not in the mood for niceties. Thus, the other man’s outstretched hand simply stayed ignored.

“Do I look like a warrior to you, Commander? I’m going to die HORRIBLY.”

TEETH GRIND ,   a  sigh  swallowed .   admittedly ,  loghain  has  a  fondness  of  dramatics  too ,    but  this  isn’t  helping  anyone ,   roderick  the  least .   MORALE’S  important  now .  it’ll make or break the inquisition .  and  here  he  is ,  trying  to  be  nice  for  once ,   but  roderick  seems  only  to  care  about  the  horrible  death  that’ll  befall  him .   truly ,  the  chancellor  is  making  it  hard  for  him .   somewhere ,  sometime   he  might  feel  pity  for  the  unfortunate  man ,  but  today’s  not  the  day .

  loghain  drops  his  hand  then ,   still  trying  to  not  make  an  acerbic  comment ,   but  alas .     ‘  yes ,  you  might  die  horribly .   and  then  what ?  you’re the only  person  who  can  close that  hole  in  the  sky. ’    by  way of illustrating  his  point ,    a  gloved  finger  points  upwards ,   to  the  gaping hole they’ve dubbed   “  the breach  ”  .

sdfsdf everyone’s always act like loghain’s decision was unreasonable when he?? just did what was right in a situation that COULDNT end well for them no matter what they tried i’m so tired

AND  HERE  HE  IS ,  OUR  HERALD   !     loghain’s  scowl  makes  place  for  a  nod  in  acknowledgment ,    but  it  returns  all  the  same .   chancellor  asignon .  chancellor .   herald .   lord  asignon .   loghain  ponders  on  what  title  he  aught  to  use  in  greeting   -   he  doubts  the  other  is  still  CHANCELLOR ,   considering  these  dramatic  events .    RODERICK  it  is  then .

‘  roderick ,   warden  loghain  mac  tir ,  commander  of  the  inquisition’s  forces .  ’     eyes  drift  momentarily  to  the  green  flickering  in  roderick’s  hand ,   before  he  stiffly  offers  one  hand .    seizing  up  the  chantry  brother ,    he  wonders  HOW  they’ll  keep  him  alive  in  combat .    ‘  a  pleasure .   the  rifts  must  be  closed .    i  assume  you  have  no  previous  combat  experience ? ’   loghain  cares  not  for  pleasantries ,    and  instead  focuses  on  the  necessary :   keeping  roderick  alive  so  he  will  be  able  to  close  the  breach   &   organizing  the  troops  of  the  inquisition .
