The only thing scarier than the moment this thing starts casting spells and swinging that cage around like a flaming flail that does automatic level drain on a hit is the daunting task of statting this damn thing.
That, and its grapple-modifier-from-hell. What the SHIT, TREE.

The pearly liquid inside the exquisite crystal container shimmers and sparkles when it is swirled around, and
its ever-evolving taste calls to mind hundreds of
wondrous things, firing the imagination. Your heart
races as your mind tugs at these lines of thought, and
picks one to follow all the way to epiphany.
Once downed, this elixir fills you with inspiration and
opens a mental pathway to a new and formerly
unattainable spell. It lets you choose one spell of 3rd
level or lower from any spell list, no matter if it is
normally available to you or not. Henceforth you can
prepare and cast this spell normally as if it was on
your spell list all along.
This guy's name is Reed. Or is it? Whenever he shares something personal about himself and where he's from, it's always wildly different from what he told last time: he's from the Moot, or Kislev, or the shores of Bretonnia, and he nails the accent each time. He was a noble's son stolen from his crib by a circus bear and raised in a performers' troupe, or otherwise a childless widow found him as a baby inside her ball of yarn. He was kept in cage in a witch's cabin to turn the spits she roasted misbehaving children on, when he wasn't counting all the cobblestones in the Empire for the Imperial Architect's Guild. He slew two bridge trolls with a frying pan - in two different ways. He's not broke he can stop being poor any time he wants...!
Reed is my character for the upcoming WFRP campaign; I got him a slingstaff and a frying pan, and he's got oodles of luck. Let's see how well he does!

Can't believe I hadn't shared Bindweed yet - but now you can see how they both look side by side. A5 size, two blocks per design, the third colour is either painted in (pumpkin) or daubed (bindweed). Mistakes galore and this is certainly not by the book but I've been missing Just Starting On Things, and seeing the energy from that in the work. I'll leave it up to you to decide if that's coming through.
Made another beastie! I wanted this one to look like they had beef with this guy . Had an absolutely whale of a time colouring and stamping the white base and red background - it's a very percussive art - but since it was crazy hard to make all the layers line up correctly I didn't print as many hippogriffs as I'd have liked.
(Image description under the cut)
Image description: postcard-sized linocut print of a horned hippogriff, its front half lowered and wings thrust forward in a threat display, beak opened wide. His horse half is feathered on the flanks but has the wavy, flowing tail and feathering on the legs of a Friesian or Vanner. The outline is black ink on a white base layer on brown cardstock, with bright red and mauve graphics and smudges all around, including the swirly logo and name of the artist.
If you would live on Fairy-land, human, know the code:
Seeing fairies in procession, kindly leave the road
Make way for the Folk as they go by in shiny light
come find ‘m in the Fairy Ring, all on a moonless night!
Invite us to all your weddings – we might come, or not
To ignore us is to spite us even if we’ve got
a pony as a groom’s gift, and earrings for the bride
come find ‘m in the Fairy Ring, all on a moonless night!
A knife should not be left in meat, salt not on the floor
Silver is an offence: don’t place it on the door
Leave no hatchet in the log, leave not your tools outside
come find ‘m in the Fairy Ring, all on a moonless night!
Following these Fairy rules, our peace can’t be disturbed
We reward humanity with luck and healing herbs
Bronze torcs for giving fairies a shelter from the cold
and sure death for those who come and dare to steal our gold.
We charm the snakes, we tell the wolves whom they cannot bite
No lightning strike a home should it house at least one sprite
For sleepers we have our songs, and tales as yet untold
and sure death for those who come and dare to steal our gold.
Leave us cakes if you desire a loft chock-full of hay
But your hens stop laying eggs if you waylay the Fey
For kind folk we bring wishes – in three or sevenfold
and sure death for those who come and dare to steal our gold.
Linen trades for needlework, buckwheat for pristine flour
Cow’s milk will do for mushrooms but not in case it’s sour
Children born too pretty shall be ours by holy right
come find ‘m in the Fairy Ring, all on a moonless night!
Pin-pricks for untidiness, illness is for lying
Nightmares for unfriendliness, stillborns for your spying
Madness pays for visiting the hollow hills of old
and sure death for those who come and dare to steal our gold.]
Anthotypes are made by exposing plant extracts to sunlight. These were made with turmeric, and further developed with baking soda. Digital cleanup and colour adjustment done with Krita; anthotypes degrade overtime and there's a beautiful lesson in impermanence in there, but for now I just wanted to have my pretty pictures, thankyou. So I digitised them with the idea of having them printed out later - that way, I can put 'm up when I want to.
This piece has been lying dormant since I started working on it last year, and as my ideas and intentions with it changed so did my motivation to finish it! So in the end I suppose it's not so much a case of 'trust the process' but rather a 'trust your creativity to lead you to places that energise you'.

Joyful occasion: important new chapter of Borrowed Strength now available for reading.
The sixth, concluding chapter should be up sometime next week, which is GOOD because these unplanned artworks keep getting more complicated as the story progresses. HELP
