A Heart Beating

His jaw clenched and his eyes narrowed. This was getting old real fast. “Don’t you dare fuckin’ say that. He’s a good person unlike yer sorry ass. You’ve got one last chance ta shut tha hell up before I make ya regret opening yer mouth at all.” Already his fist was tightening. He was craving the crack of bone under his knuckles, vision starting to go red at the edges as his blood pressure rose. 

      He paused to let that sink in before turning to walk away, hands in his pockets. “I believe the last bit is less than probable.” Dusty, torn leather groaned as he began to take steps away from the redhead. It seemed to him as only logical. “As for Demoni, once his hair becomes white and his eyes are red, he'll be too far gone. Just like a demon should be.”

“I handled what I did. We hit a rough patch, yea. But we worked through it. I just didn’t want him to deal with my bullshit. He shouldn’t have to. I did what was best for him. I wasn’t a selfish asshat like you. So don’t even try to act like we’re on tha same level. Yea, I might be worthless. But at least I’m not you. Now get tha fuck outta my face before I bash yers in.”

“S’funny ya think I'm talkin’ about you. He still has the ability ta turn out the same way I did. He's a Vanitas. And Vanitas always become the bad guy one way or another. It'll just take time. One day, he'll be every bit as bitter and hateful as I am.”

“Obviously ya don’t know how ta fuckin’ love someone. Because there are certainly differences between you. For instance, he would never pull tha kinda bullshit you did on Demoni. Yer jus’ a fucked up lil worm that’s got no business messin’ around in anyone’s life.”

“You don't know shit about what happened between myself and Demoni. Don't pretend that ya do. N’are ya sure he wouldn't? You've hurt him already, trust me, I do know that. The night Demoni came t’ check on you I had ta go check on him. He hurt bad. N’I'm positive that if Reno hadn't been watchin’ him, he would have either rebound or given up. You wanna compare that way, have at it, ginger giant, I don't care.”

“Maybe yer jus’ really not good at it. I was fine though then I saw yer face. Makes me want ta gag.” 

     “Must make it hard ta fall asleep with your ‘beloved’ idiot then, wouldn't it? Seein’ as it’s the same fuckin’ face.”

                  “Maybe. I don’t see why that would be any concern of yours.”

               “Well, ya see, I'm actually an ex of his and i need to know who to avoid.”

                  “Don’t mind at all.” Though, will she answer is the real question. Something was sliiiightly off about this person.

               “Are ya by any chance related t’ a guy named Vanitas Diavolo?”

“Oh you think s’good ta see me? Yer in for a rude awakenin’.”  

“Note the sarcasm, whaddaya want, redhead?”

                 “One of the three, yes.”

                  Those eyes... “A’ight Imma ask ya one more question if ya don't mind.” He'd seen something like them before.

Since I didn’t scare you. I lost.

                 “N’I'm guessin’ if you’re refferrin’ ta humans like yer not one, then youre either an angel, a demon, or a fallen, am I correct?”

”I probably shoulda made sure ya wouldn’t walk anymore period when you were datin’ me.”

             Yeah, yeah..                             I get it, ya really dislike me nowadays.                       Ya wouldn't care what happens t' me at this point.
