Summary:
Five-year-old Wade Nash wants two things: more cookies, and for Miss Athena to be his Daddyâs girlfriend. So he does what any determined kid would doâhe writes her a letter. And maybe leaves it inside her favorite coffee cup. Bobby has no idea whatâs coming.
---
Dear Miss Athena, Please Be My Daddyâs Girlfriend
Wade Nash was a boy on a mission.
His daddy always said honesty was important. So Wade figured the best way to help his daddy be less lonely was to just come out and say what they were all thinking. Or at least what he was thinking.
Miss Athena came to their house every Saturday. She laughed like the cartoonsâbig and bright. She let Wade sneak an extra cookie when Daddy wasnât looking, and once, she even tied his shoes with sparkly blue laces, just because âhe looked like the hero of his own story.â
Wade had decided right then and there that Miss Athena needed to stay.
Forever.
Which is why, on a Thursday evening after dinner, he pulled out his crayons, folded construction paper, and his best handwriting.
---
Dear Miss Athena,
Can you please be my Daddyâs girlfriend?
He makes good pancakes and reads The Velveteen Rabbit with voices.
I think he likes you a lot because he gets smile-eyes when you talk.
Also, you smell like cinnamon and hugs.
I don't want him to be lonely. I think you would make a good mommy too if you want.
Love,
Wade Nash (age 5 and a half)
P.S. Daddy doesnât know I wrote this. P.P.S. Donât be mad.
---
He folded the note carefully, tucked it into her favorite pink coffee cup on the counter, and went to bed feeling proud, like heâd done a very grown-up thing.
---
Saturday arrived with sunbeams and the smell of cinnamon rolls. Athena always brought cinnamon rolls. Wade waited behind the door like a secret agent in pajamas, watching her walk in with that sparkle-smile she always wore just for them.
âHey you,â Athena greeted Bobby, handing him the bakery bag before ruffling Wadeâs curls. âAnd hello to my favorite partner-in-crime.â
Wade beamed. âHi Miss Athena.â
Then she saw it.
The pink cup. The folded letter inside.
She pulled it out, eyes scanning the crayon loops and lopsided hearts.
âWade⌠did you write me a letter?â she asked softly.
He nodded, suddenly nervous.
Bobby looked up from pouring coffee, eyes flicking between them.
Athena read silently, then covered her mouth, holding back a laughâor maybe a tear.
âOh sweetheart,â she finally said, kneeling beside him. âThis is the sweetest letter Iâve ever received.â
Wade whispered, âSo⌠will you?â
Athena looked up, locking eyes with Bobby. He looked stunned, coffee mug frozen mid-air.
âI⌠I didnât know he was planning a proposal on my behalf,â Bobby stammered, cheeks red.
Athena smiled. âYou didnât, huh?â
âNope. But now that itâs out thereâŚâ
Wade looked between them, hopeful. âYou said honesty was important.â
Athena took Bobbyâs hand.
âI think,â she said gently, âwe should go on a proper grown-up date. What do you think, Wade? Is that a yes for your proposal?â
Wadeâs face lit up like fireworks. âYES! But only if youâre my Miss Athena forever.â
She kissed his cheek. âThatâs a big promise, little man. But I think we can work on it.â
---
That night, Wade asked Daddy if Athena could tuck him in too. She did, with a story about two brave explorers who found each other across oceans and time.
After lights out, Wade whispered, âSee? I told you sheâs magic.â
Bobby kissed his forehead and whispered back, âYeah, buddy. You mightâve just changed everything.â
---
End.

Title:
Thatâs My Baby
â a Rockstar Bobby x Civilian Athena Love Story
---
Summary:
Bobby Nash is the soulful, gravel-voiced frontman of The 118s, a chart-topping rock band known for their raw lyrics and broken-boy charisma. The world knows him as a heartthrob, a single dad, and a private enigma.
Athena Carter is just trying to juggle her demanding job, her two kids, and a little peace. She doesn't care much for The 118sâshe prefers silence to screaming fansâand thatâs exactly why Bobby falls for her.
When they meet by accident, Bobby gives her only his first name. No fame. No cameras. Just stolen nights, playlists shared over text, deep talks, slow kisses, and the kind of love that feels like a secret.
But nothing stays hidden forever. When a single photo goes viral, their quiet world explodesâand so do the sacrifices it takes to love a man adored by millions.

đ Chapter 1: Thatâs My Baby
> âYouâre the first person in years who doesnât look at me like I belong to the world. Maybe thatâs why I want to belong to you.â
It started with a blackout.
The 118s had just wrapped their sold-out show in Santa Monica. The crowd was still humming through Bobby's ears as he slipped out the back, hoodie up, security detail gone, his heart still half on stage.
He needed quiet. He needed air. He neededâŚsomething real.
And there she wasâAthena Carterâin a nearly empty diner at 12:47 AM, sipping coffee, flipping through papers, her face lit by the soft neon of a pie display.
Bobby slid into the booth across from her.
âYouâre in my seat,â she said without looking up.
âMaybe,â Bobby smirked, âbut I make a mean apology if you let me stay.â
She finally looked up. No spark of recognition. No shriek. Just eyes that saw him.
She let him stay.
---
They talked for hours. About music, yesâbut not his. About what it meant to raise kids alone. About hard months and soft mornings. About how lonely it is to be admired and not known.
Bobby told her his name was Bobby. Nothing more.
And she gave him her number.
---
đą Excerpt: Late Night Texts
Bobby: If you had to choose one song to play before you die?
Athena: Nina Simone. "I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl."
Bobby: That says a lot about you.
Athena: And what would you play?
Bobby: Something nobodyâs heard yet. Something Iâd write for you.
---
đ Chapter Cliffhanger:
Their weekend getaway to Napa was perfect. The kids with her sister, the wine flowing, Bobby cooking barefoot in the cabin kitchen. And then the airport.
A kiss goodbye on the curb.
A flash.
A scream.
Superfan Marcyâs camera.
And by morning, the photo was everywhere:
"WHO IS BOBBY NASH'S MYSTERY WOMAN?"
#BobbyBabyMama #The118sScandal #ThatâsMyBaby
Athenaâs world would never be the same.

Chapter 3: The Night Everything Broke
Flashback â Five Years Ago
Narrative focus: Bobbyâs POV, with Athenaâs POV intercut like memory fragments
---
BOBBY
He remembered the night like it had carved itself into his bones. The air had smelled like smoke and cheap gasoline, and the sirens had followed them home like ghosts.
Another fatality. A teen. Burned in a house fire. Bobby hadnât been fast enough. Again.
But that wasnât the night he left her.
Noâthe night he left was quieter than that. And somehow, infinitely worse.
---
ATHENA (Memory Fragment)
âYou canât keep shutting down after every call. Iâm not your punching bag, Bobby.â
---
BOBBY
Heâd come home late. Again. The fourth time that month. She was waiting at the kitchen table, still in her uniform, hands clenched around a cooling mug of tea.
She had that look on her faceâthe one that wasnât angry, just tired. Worn down by a thousand small heartbreaks.
âYou said youâd be home,â she murmured.
âI got called in.â
âYou didnât call.â
---
ATHENA (Memory Fragment)
âItâs like Iâm holding this whole thing together with duct tape and silence.â
---
BOBBY
The thing was, he wanted to talk to her. God, he did. About the way the fire clung to his clothes. The way he could still hear that girl screaming. The way he couldnât stop seeing the face of the kid who didnât make it.
But how could he, when every time he tried, it felt like he was bleeding out on her floor and she just kept asking him to mop it up?
âYou deserve better,â he had said, his voice low.
âDonât do that,â she replied. âDonât martyr your way out of this.â
---
ATHENA (Memory Fragment)
âI loved you through everything. I chose you, Bobby. Stop acting like you're a burden I have to bear.â
---
BOBBY
He had stood there, looking at her. At the woman he had fought so hard to build a life with. The woman who had once made him believe that he could rise out of the ashes of his past and be more than the grief.
And all he could say was:
âI donât know how to be here and not break everything.â
Because deep down, he was terrified that if he stayed, he would destroy her. The way he destroyed everything else he touched.
---
ATHENA (Memory Fragment)
âI wouldâve rather you stayed and broke with me⌠than left and shattered me alone.â
---
BOBBY
He wrote a note. He left it in the drawer by her nightstand. He didnât sign it.
He walked out at 4:13 a.m. The sun hadnât risen yet. Ubern City was still sleeping. And so was she.
She never got to stop him.
---
PRESENT â ATHENA
She had read that note only once.
"You deserve someone who doesnât carry fire where a heart should be."
"I love you too much to keep setting you on fire."
She had cried on the floor until sunrise. Then she got up, went to work, and didnât speak his name for three years.
---
---
Chapter 2: The Distance Between Us
---
ATHENA
The knock came just after midnight.
She didnât check the peephole. Didnât need to. Only one person would be stupidâor brokenâenough to come to her door after everything theyâd left unsaid.
Athena opened it slowly, careful not to let the warmth of her apartment escape. Not that it mattered. He stood there, soaked in Ubernâs rain, like the city had spit him back out of some forgotten gutter.
âBobby,â she said, voice flat. The name still tasted like a bruise in her mouth.
He didnât speak at first. His eyes traveled over herâsame fire in them, but dimmer. Older. Like he hadnât forgiven the years, or himself.
âYou look good,â he said quietly.
She leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed. âYou look like someone I used to know.â
A pause. He winced, just slightly. âI deserved that.â
âNo. You deserve worse.â She didnât raise her voice. She didnât need to. âWhat do you want?â
His silence filled the space between them like fog.
âAthena... I didnât know where else to go.â
Thatâs what did it. That sentence, those old words that used to mean something. That used to lead to her opening up her chest and letting him crawl inside. She clenched her jaw.
âYou made it clear you didnât want to come back,â she whispered. âNot to me. Not to us.â
---
BOBBY
She hadnât changed.
Not where it mattered.
Still poised. Still fierce. Still the only person who ever made him feel both completely safe and completely seenâand yet tonight, she looked at him like he was a stranger.
âI didnât come to ask for anything,â he said, even though that was a lie. âI just⌠needed to see you. Know you were okay.â
She shook her head slowly, like he was some half-drunk hallucination she was trying to shake off. âYou donât get to check on me like Iâm yours. Not anymore.â
God. The words stung. But he took it. Because she was right.
He looked down at the scar on his hand. The one he got the night he left, punching the brick wall outside their apartment because walking away from her had hurt more than anything heâd ever done. More than the firehouse. More than the ghosts.
âI dream about you,â he confessed. âAnd I wake up hating myself for it.â
Athenaâs face crackedâjust a fraction. She swallowed hard. Her voice trembled despite the steel in it.
âYeah. Me too.â
---
FLASHBACK â Five Years Ago
ATHENA
They had been sitting in the car after a call. Rain pelting the windshield. Silent.
âYou know what scares me?â she had asked.
Bobby didnât answer.
âThat I love you so much, Iâd forgive you for anything. Even this. Even walking away.â
---
PRESENT
BOBBY
She didnât slam the door.
He didnât beg to come inside.
But they stood there, letting the ghosts breathe between them.
There would be no clean break. No neat goodbye. Not this time.
Just the storm, the silence, and the distance neither one of them could bring themselves to close.
Not yet.
