Another au idea: I'm imagining how much worse it would be if the Wizard knew the whole time Elphaba was his daughter. Or he heard from Morrible who Elphaba's mother was and put two and two together. What if when she came to see him he wants to try and plan a whole father and daughter outing and gently bring that up. Or better yet he goes to the school to see her because no one knows what the real wizard looks like so what trouble could it really cause? I just the wizard in no way deserves it but I would like to explore the chance of Elphaba having a father and daughter bond with him before he completely crushes her dreams and decides to be the cause of her breakup with her girlfriend. Yes I want slightly toxic father daughter bonding. It adds to the tragedy. Also proving the bar is really low that the wizard is even a better father than Elphaba's adopted asshole dad.
