Talked to my grandma and I don’t know how to feel, she the one person that mattered 🅿️ held me up when I lost everyone and everything; When my life veered from normalcy

Talked to her again last week after so many months, I’m glad each time we’ve talked of recent it’s me delivering good news. Her words from when I was six became like a prophecy. It felt beautiful to converse in her native tongue and make her laugh, her boy is living a life he has hope in finally. When I smile I mean it more this year

Ain’t talked to her in minute, last convo we had back home telling her I’m gone move and I got a new job and shit, she does this thing where she just smiles and stares at me almost like she’s losing her vision and can’t see me. But I think it’s her simply remembering at every summit we’ve met. We’ve had this ritualistic sit down since that fateful day when I was a small boy all those years ago. Aging is sad but I think the process is beautiful, from holding a baby to them holding your hand as adults

I miss you ever more Janet , but I’m grateful I got time with you. Inshallah I find ways to fill the void you left behind in a healthy manner. 1 year one since your departure and I recognise the unhealthy ways I tried to cope.

Just premising this with the fact that Aaron Bushnells self immolation was felt by all palestinians in Palestine and in the diaspora because the idea that someone so deeply upset by what he saw happening to Palestinians at the "hands of their colonizers" decided to self immolate in front of the israeli embassy was a shocking act of solidarity. And that being said this extraordinary act of revolutionary suicide is exactly how you should perceive palestinian resistance who go out and battle one of the most funded armies in the world just so one day palestinians can be free of this occupation and colonial oppressor. Our resistance are not "crazy fundamentalists" they are occupied people who have bore the scars the occupation gives them and woke up and said they will not take the chains binding them anymore. Right of arms is the right of any anti colonial movement and we can't imagine the level of faith they must have in a future free palestine to battle million dollar tanks and drones and soldiers equipped with the latest weaponry
