“All artists of The Overland Gallery, We have set the date for our next “Call to Artists” exhibit.

The title of the exhibit will be WABI-SABI (capturing the beauty of “imperfection, impermanence, and incompleteness”)

The opening of the exhibit is scheduled for Sept. 11, 2015.

The lizard has not reappeared. It’s been very cold this February. We’ve had several days in a row below freezing. That’s unusual for eastern NC. We even got into the teens for daily high temperatures a couple times. We’ve also had a few days with highs in the ’60s. Then back in the freezer. It’s been odd.

Keeping the studio from freezing has been a bit of a concern, too. I have a heater/air…

The Perfect Beer Mug / Pint Glass  Art Exhibit, Contest and Sale

April 15, 2015

Open to all living potters, glass blowers, and tinsmiths aged 18 years and older – a beer mug / pint glass art exhibition, contest, and sale at The Overland Gallery in Kinston, NC. 

Artwork submitted must be functional and appropriate for holding and drinking beer.   The art will be judged on creative design and qualities that maximize the pleasure of use in drinking beer from the vessel.  Artists may submit 2 pieces of art.  All pieces should be submitted ready for exhibit.  Pieces should be priced for sale by the artist, taking into consideration a 35% commission to the Gallery.

There is no registration fee.  Artwork must be submitted to the gallery by Saturday, April 4, 2015.  Full details of submission requirements, gallery information, registration form, awards, and mailing address can be obtained by emailing the gallery at [email protected] 

Artist and public information will be updated on our Face Book page “The Overland Gallery”

Public and Artist Reception for exhibit will be held at the gallery on Wed., April 15 from 4 – 7:30 PM.  The artwork will be exhibited and on sale through May, 2015 and will be an integral part of the Kinston Beer Festival April 17, 18 & 19. 

Public Viewing & Sale of artwork is open to the Public. The Gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 6 pm, and Saturday from 10am – 4pm.
