Jungkook and I walk through the forest. Hoping that we would find any of the others.
And still hoping that all this was just a bad dream. Never would I have imagined that something like this was possible. Just thinking about it gives me a headache. Kook and I walk side by side, not saying anything. I am at a loss of words and he never talks much (at least to me), so I’m not surprised. I don’t know how long we have been walking, but it feel like it has been at least 20 hours. We haven’t seen anything or anyone besides of trees and even more trees. At least the birds started chirping again.
As time went by the sky turned a bright orange (As far as I have seen by the short glimpses I got, when the forest wasn’t that thick).
“Uhm, maybe we should make a shelter before it gets dark.” I suggested.
“Yeah. Sounds like a good idea.” Kook agreed.
You could literally feel the awkwardness hover between us like fog.
“Great. Then I guess we need some wood.”
“Right. We need long and thick branches.”
“So do we both look for them?”
“I will look for them. You can try to ignite a fire in the meantime.”
And so he leaves. I watch him for about 5 minutes walk in the distance, then I start with my task.
I gather wood and put it together in a pile. Then I look for stones to put around it in a circle. After that I take a log and a branch and try to ignite a fire. I place the branch on top of the log, put my hands around the branch and move my hands up and down. Again and again. I at least try it for an hour. Now it’s already dark outside, but Jungkook still hasn’t returned yet. I hope nothing happened to him. No, that’s not possible. He’s Jeon Jungkook. He does everything well. Heck he practically lives in video games. I should worry more about the others. I think about Hoseok and how scared he must be. Hopefully he found someone and doesn’t have to endure this alone.
Two hours passed. Still no sign of Jungkook. I sit in the pitch black and hope not to get eaten by any of the zombies.
Three hours passed. I start to freeze and regret not wearing a jacket when I got sucked into the game.
Four hours passed. I need to pee really bad, but I’m too scared to get up. Besides I have no clue if pee attracts zombies and I’m not eager to find out.
Five hours have passed since Jungkook left. Five hours. What if he died? What if Zombies got him and ate his brain? Grossed out, I try to ban that thought from reoccurring in my mind.
The wind is so cold that even curling up into a ball doesn’t help. My eyelids get heavier and heavier by every second. I’m not allowed to fall asleep I tell myself. What if Jungkook returns? He wouldn’t know where I was. Or maybe he doesn’t want to come back? I’m just withholding him and I’m also an easy target. He’s better off without me and he knows that. So he just took the initiative and left me alone.
I shake my head, trying to clear my thoughts. He wouldn’t do that, would he?
