Prompt 8: retail workers au Author: Adelais
The ambience was perfect. Just the two of them, peacefully chatting in a small coffee shop and looking into each otherâs eyes. When was the last time Namjoon had seen such a full and sweet smile in his beloved oneâs charming lips? These lips softly moved, forming words that he could barely hear.
âThis was truly a great idea.â âYeahâŠâ but Namjoon was already completely lost in the beautiful piece of art that was in front of his eyes. âAnd we finally get to have some time without the little one, just the two of us.â âJust the two of usâŠâ he repeated, âusâ, that word tasted so nice in his tongue. âYou had a great idea, darling.â âYeah⊠I had?â He started to wake up from his marvellous dream. âYes, you had. Leaving Jungkook in the nursery, remember? While I was paying, you silly-head.â âOh, yeah, I did.â âWait, Namjoon, is everything alright?â âYes, love, justâŠâ Great, maybe he hadnât noticed yet. âCan I see you wallet?â âI guess so but whyâŠ?â Seokjin doubted but took his wallet out anyways. His husband took it from his hand while standing up as he quickly looked into his eyes. âIâm sorry babe.â âWhat are youâŠâ But by the time he could react the other one had already left the shop rushing and tripping over two chairs in his way. âYou canât leave without paying, love!â âKim Namjoon come RIGHT BACK HERE!!!â âSoâŠWhat about this Friday?â âNo.â âAnd the next one?â âNo.â âAnd Saturday?â âNo.â Jiminâs gaze was so penetrating that it would have either enchanted or creeped out anyone else. But Yoongi, as always, ignored him. He somehow managed to stay concentrated on the screen of his computer and his job while periodically answering the tedious boy with a cold ânoâ, their lives working in the retail shop were actually quite repetitive. Did he even listen to the questions? Or did he just calculate the timing? None of them knew, but that wouldnât make Jimin stop asking or Yoongi change his reply. âFebruary the 14th?â âNo.â âFebruary the 15th?â âNo.â But suddenly, their conversation (yeah, letâs call it that) was interrupted by a horrible scream, halfway between crushed baby and a dying nazgul; that came from one of the corridors of the shop. After a brief silence Yoongi resumed typing and Jimin interrogating. âFebruary theâŠâ âWill you check that?â âWill you go out with me if I solve it?â âNo.â âDidnât hear you! Already going!â Yoongi simply rolled his eyes and continued working. âHobi? Hobi, where are you? Are you alright?â Taehyung had been the first one to start the investigation on his boyfriendâs prideful shout for help. The close to musical sound had surprised him and yet it took him approximately 0.02 seconds to stop doing what he was doing and start his quest (that little girl asking about his hair colour would have to wait). He now had to save his Hobi the same way his Hobi had saved him many times before. When was that? Classified or not-found information, but who cares, he had to save him. âHobi? Where areâŠOH no! Hobi!â There he was, lying on the floor, unconscious, with a green substance spread all over his chest. âOh my G.O.D.! How can this be?â The boy ran to help his Hobi and once he was kneeling next to him he saw it. A small, green creature that left a trace where it had been. An alien. âHobi, I love you, but I have to come back for you later. I have to help the others first.â âAttention everyone, this is a red alert! There is an alien invasion in the shop. Leave now! But donât run, no, wait, yes, RUN! I repeat, run for your lives!â Yoongi heard the announcement from the speakers. He simply sighed and put his earphones on. This was going to be a long day. Namjoon knew something was going wrong before he arrived to the shop. I mean, something apart from the fact that he had left HIS FREAKIN SON IN A SHOP. How could he forget that? A human being! Gosh, Namjoon, really? Great, just, great⊠But anyways, he could already see a suspicious amount of people going out of the shop at the same time. Unfortunately for Taehyung (of whose existence Namjoon didnât know anything about yet), they werenât running in terror, but most of them looked frustrated and confused. Namjoon started to worry. âPlease, let it not be Jungkook.â But of course, it was. âTaehyung? What the hell are youâŠ?â âJimin, come, I need your help.â To be honest, Jimin, just as anyone else, would have thought that it was joke, but the desesperation in his best friendâs eyes was impossible to ignore, worrying, in fact. Something must have happened, I mean, sure the boy was a bit of an idiot but no one can be that stupid. No one would make an emergency announcement for nothing. âWhat is it?â âYou have heard it, aliens.â âYes butâŠâ Aliens? Really? The possibility was just too unthinkable. There was also the thing about most people believing Taehyung was an alien, shouldnât he like aliens then? âJimin, they attacked Hoseok.â Ok, now that was a thing. Taehyung took his hand and quickly guided him to the corridor where his boyfriend was lying. The whole thing seemed quite fishy, but the boy was really on the floor without moving, and he wasnât the kind of people to suddenly fall asleep during work, or at least not on the floor. âAre you sure this isâŠâ âYes, I saw the alien.â Jimin wanted to believe it was a joke, but judging was his friendâs expression he wasnât lying. Suddenly, they both heard some boxes falling and they saw the little intruder. Now then, if Hoseok had previously screamed, Jimin properly squealed in terror. He escaped as fast as he could even though the little creature didnât even bother to follow him. It actually looked, as Taehyung noticed himself, a bit surprised. Was this really a monster? Or just a lost being? âYoongi Yoongi Yoongi Yoongi!â âWhat?â The guy took his earphones off and looked dead serious and quite bothered, Jimin would have to save his emotion created by his reply for another time. âItâs an alien.â Yoongi still looked the same. âAn alien.â âIâve heard.â âYes, Taehyung made an announcement, but itâs really serious! Itâs an alien, it attacked Hoseok! Heâs all covered in saliva and in the floor! Actually, I donât know if itâs saliva, it could be poison really butâŠâ âTonight.â âWaitâŠWhat?â Yoongi looked again at the screen and was already putting his earphones back on. Without any emotion in his voice he explained âIâll come with you tonight if you solve it.â Now that was a motivation. âJungkook? Jungkookie? Come here with papa!â Namjoon looked desperate around every corridor, but they all seemed to be deserted. âPleaseâŠâ, he whispered. Then, he saw it. Anyone would find hard to comprehend the situation, his son, covered in green paint, shivering while a stranger (with a weird hair colour) extended his hand towards him with what looked like dog food as he looked away. His final conclusion would later be that Jungkook tried to take same paint from a high shelf making it fall over him and that the stranger was trying to calm him down with some sort of weird technique. But his first reaction was simply âwhat the flying duck is happening here? Jungkook?â âWait, do you know him?â Fascination was all over the strangerâs face. âWell, yes, he is my son.â âSon? You mean he is a mixture from two different species?â âWhat?â Taehyung would have proceeded with his long theory of the existence of this baby alien if it werenât for Jimin abruptly intruding the scene broomstick in one hand and rubbish bin lid on the other as measures of security. âDonât worry, Iâve got the situation covered.â âSTOP.â The whole world seemed to stop for a second as the glorious Seokjin appeared in the other end of the corridor with fire in his eyes. âDonât you dare put a hand on my child.â Jimin immediately dropped his weapons on the floor. âLo-loveâŠ?â Namjoon softly asked âhow did you go out of the cafe?â âHyosang was close by and paid for me, now shut upâ. Hyosang waved with a sympathetic smile and quickly disappeared into another part of the shop. âWhoâs in charge here?â The boys wanted to say âyouâ, but just then Yoongi appeared and calmly approached the group. âItâs me. Iâm sorry maâamâŠâ âIâm a man.â âSir. I believe I should have looked more closely to the situation, what is the problem?â âThe problem is that your workers are trying to attack my child that could be blind by now. You know what would happen if your disgusting product got into his eyes?â âIâm sorry sir, weâll try to do our best toâŠâ âI donât want you to try your best, I want you to solve the situation!â âOf courseâ the turned to see the other boys âTaehyungâŠâ The two other workers rushed to get some baby wipes to get rid of the paint and Taehyung tried to feed him human cookies. âI would also be interested in knowing why the child was unattendedâ Yoongi sadistically asked, keeping his cold courtesy up. âYes, me tooâ if looks could kill, the one Seokjin sent to his husband definitely would. After twenty minutes of scolding from both Seokjin and Yoongi to everyone else (excluding Hyosang, for obvious reasons I guess), the family left the shop, which was already close to closing hours. Taehyung left first because he technically didnât attack the kid and, in fact, even tried to befriend it. Ok yes, he created a false state of alarm but you couldnât really help it, he was an idiot. Five minutes later he came back and took his forgotten boyfriend from the floor, he would have to take him with him, unfortunately (he really needed to take him to the hospital, truth be told). Jimin, in contrast, had to stay a bit more to clean all the paint on the floor. And Yoongi also stayed because he had to close the shop. Once the youngest finished his duty he approached the otherâs position in the computer. Yoongi looked at him, turned the machine off and pushed his chair back. âFinished?â âYes but⊠You said tonight, right?â âWhat?â âYes, you said you would go out with me tonight if I solved the situationâŠâ âNo.â âYes you did!â Yoongi had a horrible expression of incredulity, which Jimin found adorable. âYes, but you definitely did not solve the situation.â âI know but I kind of cleaned the shop and âŠâ Jimin pouted and looked at the floor balancing his body from one side to the other. Ok, yes, maybe Yoongi did find that a bit cute. âAlright, go turn off the lights.â âWhat?â âWeâre leaving.â âWait, we? As in together?â âJust turn off the lights, Iâll be waiting on the door. And be fast if you donât want to be shut inside.â âIâm going! Iâm going!â This was going to be a long night.
Smiles
Prompt 19: artists au Author: Adelais (+ Tan-Tales)
The touch of a cold steel can pressing against his skin. The acrid yet sweet smell of fresh paint dancing in the air with the scent of night. The darkness and the moon singing the song of a perfect alibi. He felt so damn alive.
He took a deep, cool breath and smiled. The metallic sound of the can hitting the concrete floor was music to his ears.
 âSorry for breaking the rulesâ
Sarcasm, he knew it. An apology wouldnât be written two meter high in an immaculate wall of an extremely unfrequented passage of a city. A city with a lot of rules. It wasnât an apology what caught his eye, it was sarcasm. And daring.Â
And daring was judging him hard. âBest grades of the school? Wow, congratulations, you must feel proudâ it seemed to mock. No, he didnât, he didnât feel proud. That was easy, expected, and no passion had been involved. Why would he feel proud?
âSorry for breaking the rulesâ observed him, expectant, with a smirk.
âNo, you donât feel sorry⊠nor should Iâ.
He sat under sarcasm but felt uncomfortable. He stood up and sat in front of it, that was better. He took a pen and an empty notebook from his bag and started writing. It wasnât equations this time, or data, it was thoughts. Words that had always secretly inhabited his mind came to life through his fingers. Maybe at that point Daring had stopped judging him so hard.Â
âMy linesâŠâ he mumbled, spinning the pan in his hand, âis that what I call them?â Yes, unconsciously. Namjoon had started to name everything new that had appeared in his life since his first encounter with those words. With Daring. He called the ideas that crossed his mind âthoughtsâ. They had always been there, really, but in only occurred to him to actually identify them now. âThoughtsâ were, in fact, normal thoughts; he hadnât invented any new word. But these thoughts differed from the other ones in a way; he wasnât expected to have them. They were often quite pessimistic or negative. No, this didnât mean he thought about bad things that had to improve in order to become better, he thought about wrong things that maybe couldnât change, shouldnât change. He wondered whether it was right to want to know everything. Other times, he would expand on silly details of life and see where his mind wanted to guide him.
But thoughts werenât much until he wrote them down, coming into shape and becoming lines. Lines because they often werenât even in sentences and hardly ever had any structure. Lines could be simple or highly complex, or both, and they would sometimes surprise him, as he didnât know the existence of some thoughts until they became a line.
At a given point the passage became something like a refuge or a home to him. He felt free and protected, yet the fresh air of the city would always make him feel awake. This was the reason why time seemed to stop there, and Namjoon would feel as if he was in an infinite moment. He was never really âtold offâ when he arrived late to his house, but it as clearly noticed. But, what could he do? Daring had called and claimed him, and it was close to impossible to leave the passage until the endless stream of lines was finished.Â
He was writing then, long and short, thoughts that flowed faster than his hand could follow, when, suddenly, he appeared. A hoodie covering most of his face, a bag hanging off his back and a carelessness and confidence that definitely stood out. He was Daring.Â
âHeyâ he simply said catching his attention. The passage was a lonely enough place to be unable to not notice the presence of the other, and, apparently, they had decided not to ignore each other. The boy, Daring, stared at Namjoon as if he was expecting an answer.
âSo⊠are you the one who wrote that?â he decided to ask.Â
The boy turned to look at the words on the wall, his head slightly inclined to one side. âYeah, I did thatâ he finally responded, âI was actually thinking of doing something elseâ.
âI⊠kind of like itâ.
The boy turned back to see Namjoon, apparently unimpressed. âOh, thanksâ. There was an empty silence. âSo⊠are you going to leave?âÂ
Namjoon was somewhat surprised, but it then seemed quite obvious that of course Daring wouldnât want him there. The advantage of the passage was its loneliness.
âOh, that, err⊠I havenât quite finished yetâ he explained, making it quite obvious he meant writing.Â
âBut you can never really quite finish it, can you?â the boy asked, calmed and not aggressive. âI mean, that clearly isnât homework, is it? You wouldnât do your homework here. Whatever you chose to write here is not easy to finishâ.
âYeah⊠I guessâ Namjoon was amazed, that feeling was too close to his surprise when reading some of his lines. It was true, and interesting, and he had never thought about it, or he hadnât noticed himself thinking about it, at least. Daring, the boy and not the words, was both an answer and a mystery.Â
âWell then, I can waitâ he said, sliding down the wall opposite Namjoon until he reached the floor. With just that gesture, he took all importance out of the previous question and most pressure off the shoulders of the student. âSo, what are you writing?â
âJust some, I donât know, lines, I guessâ Namjoon immediately regretted using his own terminology.
âOh, lines as in music?â interest seemed to colour the tone of his voice.
âErr, no, sorry, just like writing random stuffâŠâ
âOhâ his voice showed a tiny bit of disappointment. This apparently unattached boy finally showed a bit of emotion or a clearer clue to find out his real personality. âWhat is it on, then?â
âSmilesâ.Â
Smiles. It had started with warm smiles; those that make you feel comfortable. An image of full lips curved towards the sky had come to his mind. Smiles that could bright up rooms. But he also remembered his mother smile the other day, when he said he was ok. It was a worried, concerned smile, a bit sad. But it wasnât a fake smile. Fake smiles, on the contrary, were cold andâŠ
âUh. Interestingâ the boy had been staring to the floor, meditative. That only word had already created thoughts in his own head. But what were they? The voice inside it was probably different to Namjoonâs, but how different? He didnât know anything about him; the only thing he knew was that he dared and that he thought. âWell, please continue then.â
âErr, actually, I think this might be just it. It could end here, reallyâ.
âYou sure?â
âYeah...â
âCould you read it to me then?â
The boy eyes were now fixed in Namjoonâs, all attention on him. It wasnât intimidating, but the request had taken him by surprise. He sighted and looked at his paper. He had never read his thoughts out loud, and he didnât know how they would sound. Would they even make any sense? But Daring had asked him, and he knew. He knew what kind of things would be in that page, or at least he suspected he did. So he started reading. His voice was clouded by confusion and insecurity at first, until he found a rhythm. He became more confident on reading the words, but not in the words he was reading, it was as if he was just scanning. When he noticed he became even more nervous. Soon, he started to gain velocity, as if he was running through his lines. Power and sentiment were in his words, and his increasing velocity and panic added to the effect of the growing negativity of his words.
When he finished, he breathed exhausted, as if he had just done an extremely tiring exercise. The boy sitting in front just nodded.
âDo you rap?â he asked.
âThat, err, no?â
âWell, it kind of sounded like a rap in the end. Do you like rapping?â but looking at Namjoonâs perplexed expression he decided to simply conclude, âI doâ.
âOhâ. Was it a compliment? It seemed like it⊠âWell, I think I maybe should leave nowâŠâ
âYeahâŠâ
Namjoon stood up and thankfully was still able to walk, he didnât remember how much time he had spent sitting there that day. He looked at the boy one last time and started to turn to the end of the passage.Â
âIâm Yoongi, by the wayâ.
âNamjoonâ.
âGreatâ.
Small pools of colour waited patient in the floor, pink, maroon, crimson, purple and white. âPaint, really? And those colours?â his canvas seemed to mock him. âYou donât know me well enoughâ he defended himself. He dipped the foreign brush in the blood of pigments and started to give life to the lips in the rough surface of his wall.

Prompt 3: group therapy au Author: Tan-Tales
Fight controller is here looking very carefully at the situation. Obviously a major malfunction.
