you don’t, in fact, know what he means. but it’s all good. mark’s a patient teacher—and you’re a half decent student, at the very least. with both of your combined efforts, you figured it’d be sooner rather than later that you’d be able to carry your own in a proper match.
you dribble the ball for a bit as he continues speaking, and toss it up towards the basket.

it’s been happening all day. you just can’t seem to focus, for some reason. you can’t help but wonder if it’s lee donghyuck’s presence on the steps nearby that’s making you all conscious of your movements.

you clear your throat and shake your head no apologetically, “sorry. too hot. i got distracted for a sec. go on!”

his jaw tightens involuntarily, his brows furrow. but he stays quiet, just watching. haechan could’ve helped you, he can’t help but think frustratedly. he could’ve given you better lessons. why didn’t you ask him?
before he knows it, he’s getting up and storming right towards the court. it’s a little too loud, sure, but that’s good. he wants to see if you notice. if you care.
“so,” the man begins, doing his best to keep his tone light, “coach mark and his precious student, huh?”
“haechan! yo dude.” mark, ever oblivious, launches into a spiel about how well you’re doing, how much progress you’ve made.
“sure, sure.” he interrupts again, stepping up to where the ball had rolled, dribbling it once before tossing it lazily back to you. “okay then, coach mark. you mind if i test your student a little?”
the smooth motion makes your heart beat a little quicker and you’re almost annoyed for a second.
mark immediately agrees, shouting out a “you got this!” to you as he jogs away to get some water. leaving you alone. you’re not sure if he meant to be the best wingman ever or if he just does things like this on purpose.
“just you and me then.” haechan smirks and the air feels heavier all of a sudden—air quiet, except for the faint thuds of mark’s fading footsteps against the court.

i think some of you need to stop accusing every other writer for using AI like using caps, proper grammar and punctuation has been in practice even before AI was a thing let’s be for real
using AI will never be justified and anyone feeding into it even for prompts is a shame to creativity BUT let’s not put every other work you see in AI checkers and point fingers at writers who are genuinely trying to write !!!! if you have that much time go get a hobby or a job idk
