this is an incredible zine that doesnt get enough space on other distro's tables, in my opinion. now granted its a bit outdated on account of the whole "written in 2004" thing but!! its still a lot of functional, pragmatic, direct advice on what to expect &what do do (& what not to!!) if you're facing felony charges. the zine pairs the writer's reportbacks & personal anecdotes with a crash-course in court proceedings, felony crimes, even down to the order of events. again, please seek out current information about the laws in your area now. a lot has changed since '04. i personally didnt go all the way to trial, but this zine was still a massive help to me throughout my own felony proceedings. whether ur already facing down the barrel of a prison sentence or u think u might some day, this one's still a must-read 20+ years down the road.

honestly not a whole lot comes to mind in terms of good additional readings here. check places like the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the National Lawyers' Guild (NLG), or talk to a local legal aid organization/criminal defense lawyer:) but in lieu of those, here's a zine i sometimes table alongside 'how to survive a felony trial'

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ from the zine ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The state seeks to isolate us with repression, as individuals and within our tendencies. Against that, we can prepare together, support each other and continue actively struggling against the oppression and misery of this world."
anarchafeminism direct action insurrectional anarchy reportbacks / communiques
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ notes from the distroist ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
this zine is a collection of reportbacks and communiques from anarchafeminists, trans/queer anarchists, and insurrectional militants, roughly spanning the years of 2008-2012. for a collection of communiques that’s almost two decades old now, its still incredibly relevant. my favorite communiques (although they’re all quite good) are ‘We’ll Show You Crazy Bitches” parts I & II, and "The Rejection of the Identity of Victimization Through Cracking a Nazi's Skull." they have a riot in one, beat the fuck out of a rapist in the other, and send six nazis to the hospital in the third!! its cool as hell!!!! we love autonomous community defense!!!!!!!!

untorelli press (or the original writers) included an incredible list of recommended reading on the last page of the print-format zine, but its a long list, so here’s a selection of my favorites from what they picked out!! every piece on their list goes hard asf tho u should read the ones that catch ur eye

“Letter to a Gender Rebel” // author unknown – [no link yet but I’m gonna track down a copy]

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ from the zine ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"If the Nazis call us bitch ass faggots, they might not be that far off the mark. But if they conflate those slurs with weakness, the six hospital visits they faced would prove otherwise."
