hell hath no fury like someone on the internet being asked to self-reflect on whether or not their behavior contributes to larger and harmful cultural trends

I hate the ranfren community so much i knew this day would come bc yall are all 14 year olds who get offended at everything and offended for other people bc u want internet points. Cant just let an artist live their life and make cute comics bc yall are gonna try and dig up shit on them. How can you think your doing the world justice when your trying to ruin someones life who wasnt doing anything to anyone. All of this happened so long ago and they havnt done anything recently so obviously they have changed, so that just shows how performative yall are. Why dont yall go do something that is worth your time if you actually wanted to make a difference instead of harrassing a stranger online. And most of yall already made up your minds on them so its not like an apology will help itll just dig them deeper by giving into this collective tantrum. I used to be like yall and would stop supporting people when they got called out until i realised that instead of doing that i could simply have empathy and compassion and give them the benefit of the doubt because what they did was so long ago and people can change, this is something i learned with age because i have matured and realised that cancelling people is stupid and creates uneeded negativity.

At this point its not even about protecting them, more so i am just horrified at the general reaction to this that i felt i should say something. Of course its horrible to do racist things, i would be pretty angry and the situation would be much different to me if this all happened recently, but nine years ago? At that point your searching for something to be triggered about. And i do understand wanting an explanation and apology for it, and i would have wanted to see them release one too, but instant harrassment, doxing and releasing personal information is not the way you get that. And all of that happened in the same day that it was discovered, so its almost like instead of genuinely wanting and waiting (at least a day even) for an apology, people were more interested in starting twitter drama. So do i feel compassion and empathy towards the people who were suprised and saddened to see what captain did in the past? Yes, however when i see someone who was minding their own business get doxed for things that they had left in the past i find it hard to believe that its even really about people getting their feelings hurt and more about jumping on the fun kpop ip address edits hate train, essentially making a meme out of racism allegations that they supposedly take very seriously.

I already said i do understand and agree with people who were hurt by the things that happened. Yet this entire time iv only seen probably ten posts asking in an appropriate way for an apology. There is no point in being so angry to do these things when it happened so long ago. I can see you disagree with me on that and arguing more about that isnt going to get us anywhere but in my perspective you can rightfully feel hurt by something and want an explanation without becoming so angry you feel the need to lash out like a child at them.

I believe you could feel hurt by something without making a huge deal out of it since it happened so long ago and they have already stopped. And I do really believe there is no point in being angry about it anymore. If you feel angry about it thats fine you can feel however you want, i just think its excessive for something that they havnt done in 9 years. When i see people had done things that affect me but its from a long time ago and they dont do it anymore i just dont care. Thats just me i guess but as long as your not making a joke out of all this my problem isnt with you or how you feel. We all process things differently and the way i see it is different than yours. Not sure how else i can put it for you.

I dont see anything wrong with the elliot rodgers manifesto being on their website first of all, its not like they ever said they agree with it. The nevada thing doesnt bother me either because i feel its also jumping to conclusions, as they have said nevada is where nyen is from in one of the comics. And the ratmen thing doesnt feel intentional to me as they draw randal with the same eyes and having animal human hybrid characters is a common occurrence in the comic. Its one am here im going to bed now.
