Statement from a lawyer regarding the Madmen drug case

Background: In April of 2021, Khai, Moora, Aron, and others connected to MM Entertainment, namely their producer Ruslan, were arrested for allegedly producing and selling illegal narcotics. Aron was released shortly after, not having been involved in any crimes. Madi, Mark, Rem, Young, all current members of IMZ1/Crystals, members of Black Jack, and well known MM dancers/choreographers were never connected to the case.

In April of 2022, 7 individuals involved in this case were found guilty by a court, and sentenced to terms ranging from 15-18 years (which have not yet taken effect). Moora and Ruslan were in this group. Khai was given 4 years on a separate charge of using illegal drugs, but not producing or distributing them (more on that here). He admitted his guilt and will serve his sentence. 

Recently, Moora’s sister Kamila shared on her instagram (kamila_ibraim) a statement from a lawyer regarding the case, a translation of which is posted below.

This lawyer believes that the individuals were unjustly charged, and there was insufficient evidence to justify the charges. He accuses the police of using illegal methods to obtain information and manufacture confessions, and accuses the court of violating the constitutional rights of the individuals charged. An appeal hearing will happen soon.
