Girl, I'm TERRIFIED of full wheel! My tighter than tight tushy shoulders scream in it. That pose just screams injury for me haha.
i know, right? i'm perfectly content in bridge :)
new discovery: i'm scared of full wheel. why am i scared of full wheel?
it's not even THAT difficult. i mean, you even get to keep all your limbs on the ground.

someone do this with me.

this is one of my favorite crescent variations. to look at. because i'm terrible at actually doing it :)
Class 48: happyyyy
the title pretty much sums it up? today at L's C2, i was simultaneously reminded both why i love and why i hate yoga.
why i hate yoga: OH MY GOD MY QUADS. THEY BURN SO GOOD. L had us do lots of intense crescent moons and warrior IIs and horse poses. LIKE A LOT OF THEM. and now i think i may die.
why i love yoga: i'm 98% sure that my heels are now millimeters from touching the ground in down dog. which is surprising seeing how i haven't actually been in down dog in at least a week. ALSO. I DID A FREAKING TRIPOD HEADSTAND. WITHOUT THE WALL. IT WAS AWESOME. THE AWESOME-EST.
so i'm pretty much super stoked to be alive right now. minus the spontaneous awkward meeting of the new neighbor boy right after yoga when i was super sweaty and too mentally unprepared to deal with him in a logical fashion. yoga highs kill, people. ...well, no one died, but still....
i'm just. good. real good.

Take hold of those small, lovely moments in life, because that is what makes it good. (Also, click through to an awesome comic site!)
i've been terrible about my practice lately.
but all my friends are coming home and doing fun things and i don't want to miss them and i'm lazy an waahhhhh.
ugh. i really do need school to keep me in line, don't i.

love this
class 47: i like being upside down
i really do. mostly because i'm getting almost-good at tripod headstand. and by almost-good i mean i can almost do it without the wall.
also, my new favorite asana is bog toe/revolved big toe. it's one where i can see a lot of improvement in my flexibility. which is fun.
my brain is broken. i need to try harder to go to more class. this is all.
any tips on how to avoid getting distracted by cute boys during class? (class 46)
so, i'm usually pretty good at this. some fairly attractive boy-man plops down in front of me or behind me while i'm soaking up my mat pre-class and i'm like "hey, he's kinda cute," and then i move on and don't think about him ever again unless i happen to see him in the lobby after class, in which case, i tend to duck my head and bolt.
but today was different. today, my friends, was very un-yogic.
let me just say, first off, that it wasn't my fault. this kid had to set up not in front of me, not behind me, not five feet away where i wouldn't see him ever again, but RIGHT NEXT TO ME. i was like "this is okay, i'll just... pretend... he's not.... here..." false. because, you know first time we do right knee to right elbow look right, i can;t help but notice how smokin' his back muscles are. and then, when we're doing wide-legged forward fold, you know, his adorable bum is right in my face, AND THEN, to top it all off, when we're in revolved lunge, he show-boats into this kind-of-crow-kind-of-not arm balance which i couldn't not see because i was looking right at him, and how can talent and slight show-offishness not be a deal sealer, right?
i won't even go into how i'm pretty sure our whole practice turned into a yoga-off.
i am ashamed.
so ashamed, i wont even admit that when i saw him in the lobby i bolted. typical.
BUT I WAS SUPER FLEXI TODAY, ESPECIALLY IN SEATED FORWARD FOLD, SO THAT CANCELS OUT EVERYTHING.
...shut up.

yogababes:
There are lots of peculiar things we do in yoga, but Ujjayi breath might be one of the strangest. Ujjayi breathing is an audible and controlled breath that yogis try to maintain throughout their practice. It can be described as sounding ‘oceanic’, or similar to the sound you make when fogging...
i love ujjayi and i approve of this post.
