56th Baja 1000 with start in La Paz, BCS racing at this years edition northbound to Ensenada. The race distance is announced as 2109.75 km (~1310.94 mi), however that was before hurricane Noarma hit BCS, there might be some changes due to damage done by hurricane. The race time limit is 50 hours. The race event(s) are from 13. – 18. November 2023. 16. November 2023 the race start for all 4-wheel classes. Motorcycles and quads leave several hours earlier.

At about 04:55 hr the tracker shows the leading truck on course about 175 miles out from the finish-line in La Paz. according to that tracker it’s Trophy Truck Nr. 11, Rob MacCachren up front followed by Tavo Vildosola in the Nr. 22 truck about 40 miles back and as third Cameron Steele

The timely coordination of 2 announcements is quiet interesting. In particular when you consider that the race organizers owner is a #AgentOrange donor and friend and with that well connected. With a raging pandemic in BOTH countries what can go possible wrong in planning an event about 3 month out. On Tuesday the City of Ensenada (Baja California, Mexico) live-streamed from the Mayor’s office the official signing of the agreement between the two groups that Ensenada will host the BFGoodrich Tires 53rd SCORE Baja 1000. Keep in mind: Mexico (city, state, federal/tourism) pay amount xxx,xxx US $ TO the organizer to come to Mexico to race an event they can not race in the USA Less as 48 hours later the U.S. State Department urged citizens on Thursday not to travel to Mexico, despite easing a global travel ban. The state department said, “Travelers to Mexico may experience border closures, airport closures, travel prohibitions, stay at home orders, business closures, and other emergency conditions within Mexico due to COVID-19.” The “Level 4: Do not travel,” U.S. travel warning puts virus-battered Mexico on par with war-torn nations

So, another date has been named for the Baja 500 as well the venue changed. However, we are always amazed on the wisdom and foresight by that US organizer. Maybe because the owner of that org is closed buddy of the WH occupant inspires such lunacy?? We do wonder how can ANYBODY plan 2 month ahead while a dumpster fire is burning at home AND at country you wish to visit? We are 100% offroad, 100% racing, no tree-huggers, no eco-nazi's, no lefties, no liberals no whatever the fork people come up with if not being mainstream. However, WE DO believe in FACTS and Science and therefore see no way forward at given circumstances to have any of the US organizer events at Baja.

U.S.-based Andretti Autosport has signed up as the sixth team to race in Extreme E next year, the electric off-road SUV racing series announced on Friday. Many familiar names paired up this year to tackle Baja 1000 2019 as a team, with Bryce Menzies and Andy McMillin partnering together while Dakar Rally champions Toby Price and Nasser Al-Attiyah joined forces as well.
