The Angel Of The Fandom According To @ladylesso

The books were ruined for me the moment I read them during one of the worst phases of my life, and it sucks because even if I wanted to read them again, I couldn’t.

I yearn for the happiness this fandom brought me and I look for it in other books, but nothing matches it.

Okay so I FINALLY got some time so let’s do this thing!!

The Bad (cause I like ending on a good note so the bad first)

The start scene with Rafal and Rhian was a total miss for me. It put too much focus on them, and while Rafal did have a slightly major part in the first book, it wasn’t always about him

Also it really annoyed me they gave away their names so early on cause we literally spent 2 years wondering what was Rafal’s name and 3 years without even really knowing what Rhian’s name was but anyway that’s pettier/more of a personal criticism

The effects during the fight were...subpar?? There were also some moments throughout that had me kind of looking a bit closely at the special effects cause um...They did Not Look Great sometimes

PACING PACING PACING. This movie had the weirdest pacing??? Like too much time on Gavaldon and Rafal lore, but we spend like 10 minutes on Tedros and Sophie being an Item, and like 5 minutes on the Trial 

Also, wtf was the Trial. I get certain modifications had to be made to accomodate for the time slots but uhh, I kinda would’ve liked to see the book concept of people “competing” for a spot ya know?

Movie Dovey was like a weird amalgamation of Uma, Anemone and Dovey and for me was a miss, sorry! I feel like they didn’t really understand her character? Yeah she wasn’t my fave sorry (no hate to Kerry though!!)

WHY IS LESSO AN EVELYN SADER RIP-OFF??? Why does everyone need to go chasing after Rafal smh WRONG Evil lady

The blood magic plot...really annoyed me...and it’s  problematic...also the witch makeup...no one thought this one through did they.....

Also Sophie needed to be Worse. Like Book Sophie made me HATE her. 12 year old me wanted to trample her, but movie Sophie was at best annoying? She needed some Spice

Also Agatha needed to be Edgier?? That’s not the word but I mean like she lost her sarcastic witchy self and it sucks cause is like NO ONE gets her character :/

The Good!!

I LOVED the wardrobe. I always really liked the Ever uniforms but these were TO DIE FOR. Im also really glad Nevers didn’t have to wear some ugly ass potato sacks for uniforms lol

EARL KILLED IT AS HORT. He was ON POINT. He was the perfect mix of awkward, creepy and slightly lovable

Movie Tedros was SUPERIOR. He is so dumb but sweet (even if I did miss bickering Tagatha but anyway!)

The Punch scene was so satisfying. So glad they kept that entire scene because the Wish Fish was so important to Agatha’s character

Gregor!!! SO sweet!! Loved that change, even if it made everything sm more heartbreaking

LOVED DOT EVEN IF SHE GOT 2 MIN OF SCREENTIME. She was my fave out of the coven :’)

You know who else I loved?? :)))))))) HOLLY AS BEATRIX. SHE WAS PERFECTION. SHE WAS LIKE EXACTLY HOW I PICTURED BEA. SHE WAS BEAUTIFUL AND SO MEAN THAT SHE WAS PUNCHABLE. PERFECTION. 

I really loved Sophie’s outfits ngl!!! They nailed her fashion style. 

That last scene with Sophie and Agatha where Sophie is dying had me in tears. The girls killed it :’))))))

The soundtrack choices were FUN. IDC what anyone says they reall fit the plot lmaooo

THE TAGATHA KISS WOULD?VE HAD MIDDLE SCHOOL ME CLUTCHING MY PEARLS. That was a win for us 

On the subject of ships, you know what I really liked? :))))

THE FUCKIGN HORTRIX FRAME HAD ME CRYINGG. I CAN’T BELIEVE THEY ACTUALLY INCLUDED THAT. It’s even better than the Book one cause in TLEA Beatrix noticed Hort after he got hot but here she just notices him so yeah I WIN. 

Additionally: ….the Mirror scene SHOULD have made the cut because it was fundamental to the plot and Agatha’s development!!! Also, it was a good scene for young girls to see :’))
