🦴 Step 1: Send us an email at [email protected] with “GYFTMAS25” as the subject line. That's it, you're all set! All you need to do is await our reply. A response from us can take anywhere between 24 to 48 hours, so keep an eye on your email! 🔮 Step 2: In your response from us, you'll receive a form requesting your basic information and desired prompts. This will serve as your official participation request.

🌙 Step 3: This is the most important part! Don’t forget to join the Discord server using the link at the end of the form! It is required to participate in the event. (If for some reason you are unable to access Discord in your country, please reach out to us in your email request. We can accommodate!)

🔞 Who’s allowed to participate?

Anyone 18 or older! IDs will be checked on the Discord server. Minors are not allowed, no exceptions.

👾 Do I need to know all the Bad Sanses/UTAU characters to join? Nope! As long as your request includes at least one of the core Nightmare Gang (Nightmare, Killer, Dust, Horror, Cross, or Error) in a multiverse setting, you’re good. You can include other UTAU characters alongside them as well.

📝 How do I sign up? Once the sign-up period begins (October 12), send us an email at [email protected], and we will he in touch with the form. We require participants to reach out via email to limit spam and ensure we can contact you when it's time to sort!

✨ Is joining the Discord mandatory? Yes! We need to have you all in one space to keep track of and contact if necessary. This doesn't mean you have to socialize—it's purely a technical thing. But you're more than welcome to hang out and get to know your fellow elves!

🎨 What kind of gifts are allowed? Specifically, we allow fanfiction, fanart, and physical crafts. Just make sure your gift shows effort and care—it should be more than a quick doodle or a few lines of text. 📊 Is there a minimum requirement for gifts? Yes! To keep things fair and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these minimums:

Fanfiction: at least 1,000 words

Fanart: at least a clean sketch or a full-color piece

🔥 Is NSFW content allowed? Yes! NSFW, suggestive, and dark content are all welcome—as long as your Imp has requested it and you respect their boundaries. Everything must be properly tagged on Discord/Tumblr.

💧 I'm interested, but I'm worried about being paired with certain people. Will I be forced to make a gift for someone I don't like? There will be a section in our sign-up forms where you can privately disclose the usernames of creators you absolutely do not want to be paired with. This preference will be fully confidential.

💭 What if I don’t like my Imp’s requests? Each participant provides at least 3 different prompts. You only need to complete one. If none of them work for you, contact the mods—we’ll help sort it out.

💝 Can I make more than one gift? Absolutely! You only need to finish one request, but you can make more if time and inspiration strike. All we ask is that you don’t overexert yourself.

⏳ What if I need more time? No worries, just message a one of our mods. Extensions are available—communication is key. Ghosting your Imp will leave them giftless and may get you banned from future events.

👻 What if my Santa or Imp disappears?

If your Santa disappears, a pinch hitter will step in so you still receive a gift.

If your Imp disappears, let us know—you won’t have to make a gift for someone who dropped.

🕵️ Can I talk to my Imp? Yes—but only anonymously or through the mods. This keeps the surprise intact until reveal day.

💝 Can I include my OCs? As long as you own the rights to the character and a member of the Bad Sanses (or a variant) is included, you’re allowed to include OCs in your prompts. We strongly recommend you send at least one prompt that doesn’t include an OC.

📅 When and where will gifts be shared? All gifts will be exchanged on December 25th (timezone details will be posted in Discord). You can post them on the event Discord, your social media(s), or both—just don’t post before the reveal date!

🔞 Age Restriction! This is a strictly 18+ event. If you are discovered to be a minor, you’ll be removed immediately—no exceptions. IDs will be checked on the Discord server.

🤝 Be Respectful of Others! The event is meant to bring the UTAU community together in good spirits. Harassment, bullying, ship-shaming, kink-shaming, racism, LGBTQ+ phobia, or fighting over canon/headcanons will not be tolerated. If you experience a serious problem with another participant, please reach out to a mod directly instead of engaging further. If you see someone you don't like, politely disregard them.

🎭 Preserve the Magic of Mystery! Your Imp shouldn’t know who you are until gifts drop! Don’t post or share your gift publicly before December 25th (timezone TBA on Discord), and don’t spoil the surprise by revealing your Imp’s name early. You can tell close friends if you trust they won’t spoil it. If you need clarification about your Imp’s requests, ask a mod to reach out for you. Writers may share drafts with a beta reader, but only if that beta isn’t their Imp and agrees not to share it.

📜 Honor Your Imp’s Requests! Be mindful of their likes, dislikes, and listed triggers. This event should be safe and enjoyable for everyone, so take extra care when crafting your gift. Mods will do their best to ensure you’re paired with someone you can create for. If you’re unsure about something, ask a mod to check—it’s always better to confirm than risk upsetting your Imp.

📚 Cater Your Content-Consuming Experience! Nightmare Before Gyftmas embraces all types of content: SFW, suggestive, NSFW, dark, angsty, fluffy, and everything in-between. All ships are allowed, including controversial ones, as long as you respect others’ boundaries. You’ll never be placed in an uncomfortable position—everything will be properly tagged, and mods will ensure you’re paired with requests you’re comfortable with.

📬 Stay in Touch! Life happens! If you need an extension, run into issues with your Imp’s prompts, or have a conflict, let the mods know as soon as possible. We’ll do everything we can to support you. If you feel you can’t complete your gift, please tell us early so we can find a pinch hitter. There’s no shame in needing to step away! All we ask is you don't disappear without a trace.

💝 No Unsolicited Critique! When you receive your Santa’s gift, remember it was made with care just for you. Don’t give unsolicited critique or negative feedback. If there’s a genuine issue (like boundaries being ignored), contact the mods—never confront your Santa directly.

Nightmare Before Gyftmas is an Undertale AU Secret Santa exchange centered around the beloved Bad Sanses and their companions! Each participant will take on two roles:

🎀 Santa → You’ll create a gift for another participant (your Imp) ☃️ Imp → You’ll also receive a surprise gift from your very own Secret Santa!

You’ll know who your Imp is and what they’d like, but your own Santa’s identity will remain a mystery until the big reveal!

🌒 How it works:

You’ll be given your Imp’s information and preferences. We encourage you to browse their blog/account to get a feel for their style and interests.

Each Imp will provide at least three different requests, so you’ll always have options. You only need to complete one request, but you’re welcome to do more if inspiration (or holiday spirit!) strikes.

🌓 Theme & Characters:

While this event centers around Nightmare, Killer, Dust, Horror, Cross, and Error, all UTAU characters are welcome—as long as one of the core Nightmare Gang members is included. All content types are allowed: lighthearted, emotional, suggestive, NSFW, or dark. Just remember to respect your Imp’s boundaries and listed triggers.
