Also vaguely related to last post and their mention of fantasy fans reading Fourth Wing, this literally happened to my brother and it was really funny because this smutty dragon rider book just like HAUNTED him for months and he was reviewing it with the same criteria as a Lord of the Rings or Dune, every book store we passed that had it in the front window (that's many of them) had him descend into a rant about generic tropes and world building

The bit got even funnier when I asked how he even picked up Fourth Wing in the first place and he told me a friend rec'd it to him, and we later found out the friend thought he would know INSTANTLY he was being clowned on but we're both just so out of touch with trending books he just took the recommendation VERY seriously. HE FINISHED THIS BOOK!!! HE FOLLOWED THROUGH FOR SOME REASON
