hello! this is my first tutorial (and post in general!) on here, so i figured i’d start with the gif making basics. this is super detailed and goes step by step on how i screencap using umplayer (for mac, ps users, i’ll link a tutorial to screencapping for pc!) & how i gif using photoshop.

i’ll be showing you how i made this gif:

and how i did a very basic coloring & sharpening to make it look like this:

things you’ll need:

a video to screencap (720p or 1080p recommended for HQ gifs!)

umplayer (for mac) or potplayer (for pc) for screencapping

photoshop with the timeline (i’m using cs5)

patience! it seems like a lot at first but once you get the steps down it’s pretty easy :-)
