My predictions for Danganronpa 2x2 sorted by how insane they are (spoilers for Danganronpa 2)
Ultimate Impostor survives
The twist isn’t that this is a simulation anymore, jabberwock island is real
Chiaki or Nagito dies in the first case but not both
No protagonist swap but there will be an antagonist swap
Gundham dies within the first two cases
One or two entirely new characters join the game, partially to keep it fresh and partially so the story has more bodies to work with and more deaths can happen
Teruteru Hanamura survives until at least chapter 4 but unfortunately he doesn’t get a character arc he just stays like that all game
Ultimate Impostor appears to die but it turns out they switched disguises mid-game
Sonia will still not be a killer but her obsession with serial killers will be played up a lot more
Mikan Tsumiki survives but actually gets worse over the course of the game
One or two character backstories that weren’t really elaborated on in the first game will turn out to have been lies
Ibuki gets way too much screen time compared to the other characters
If they are setting up a new timeline of games, then none of the supplementary material that led up to danganronpa 2 will be canon for this timeline. Only what happens in THH and 2x2 are canon
At least one character will basically turn towards the camera and shout either “I AM BISEXUAL. I LIKE MEN AND WOMEN. MY SEXUALITY IS BI.” Or they will say something that is somehow even more bisexual than that
A few backstories from the first game will be retconned entirely and they will be given new ones right out the gate
Bad ending where izuru falls into despair to set up for future games but the rest survive to tell the tale
Someone actually dies by breaking a rule and it’s not related to a trial at all
Ultimate Impostor appears to die in their execution but it turns out they switched disguises mid-game with another character and that was them disguised as ultimate impostor doing the killing, and monokuma somehow doesn’t know this took place
Return of the love hotel except this time it’s a love boat and it’s even more difficult to get a single key without using cheats. Teruteru’s scene will be surprisingly wholesome but Sonia and Nekomaru’s scenes will be the opposite
Canonical dating couple mid-game
Sparkling Justice will be brought up again but this time they are actually among the cast and it’s akane
Return of the despair disease except this time they all do the same thing
Mahiru Koizumi will turn out to be Komaru Naegi in disguise, or vice versa
