this isnt a dna story but rather some advice- i dont have my own blog, hope this is ok to submit!
business owners call dnas "friendly fraud." if you google it you'll see how stores try to prevent dnas through softwares that crosscheck your name, billing/shipping address, age of email address, etc. check through reddit for ecommerce owners dealing with chargebacks.
here's a list of protective measures:
1. IDENTITY: use a burner phone number and a dedicated dna email for online shopping accounts. make sure your fake name lines up across these different pieces of "digital id".
2. ONLINE PROTECTION: always block cookies/trackers, i use ublock origin. always use a vpn and a proxy. riseup.net is a good free vpn, i like tor as my browser.
3. PAYMENTS: never use your personal payment method, over time it can get flagged. too many refunds will look sus on paypal, and it could plausibly damage your credit score. use a virtual credit card (ex. koho [canada], privacy [usa], revolut [uk]).
if you are someone that has done multiple dnas, it is VERY LIKELY that your email/ip is implicated in a fraud prevention software database. multiple companies use the same softwares, this is why your orders get cancelled sometimes. change your id often!
dnas may be easy but remember it is fraud which is a crime! act accordingly!
thank you so much to whoever took the time to share these amazing tips. if you have a liftblr, please message me privately so i can give you credit!
excellent advice for newbie and seasoned DNAers.

how it feels whenever someone asks me to go to michaels/art stores
📞
dealing w customer service DNA
if they see the package did arrive (because they tracked the package) or that the carrier took a picture of it, say one of these:
❀ "I have a feeling it could've been stolen."
* because you don't have cameras so never seen your packages arrive or get stolen
* because you live in an apartment complex (if you really live in an apartment) and get your packages delivered to your door so it's possible it could have been stolen
if you ask if there's picture proof it arrived and they say NO, then say:
❀ "It could've gone to the wrong house."
*because it's common for your packages to be delivered the next block over or to a neighbor
if they say the DATE the package arrived, say:
❀ "I was out of town that week."
*because you were outta town the day it arrived, it could've been stolen
OTHER THINGS TO LET THEM KNOW, IF YOU FEEL THE NEED TO:
1. you've texted you next door neighbors already, asking if they received a package with your name and neither of them did
2. let them know theft is common at in your neighborhood, so it's possible that your package could've been stolen
3. let them know that you don't have cameras because you've never felt the need to install cameras before
TIPS ♡
● Don't mention too many details all at once. You will sound like your trying hard to act clueless and they'll know your making it up.
EX. "Hello I was calling because I never received my package and I have a feeling it could've been stolen, but I don't know for sure because I dont have camera proof because I don't have cameras installed because I never felt the need to."
● Stick to one story. Don't say "I think it was stolen", then later say "but I think my neighbors could've got the package." This type of inconsistency could encourage them to investigate.
● If a company does investigate with the carrier, then you'll want to wait at least three-four months to DNA again. It'll look suspicious to the carrier when your address is being investigated to often. This could lead to a felony on your record if you'renot careful!
🥷🏻
This is my first "advice" post because I've been getting into DNA, so I thought I would make a hopefully helpful post for someone who needs it. Haven't seen a post with advice on what to say when you talk to customer service which is why I chose to do one. In this post I included some specific things to say so you can stay calm and collected. The reason I made this post is because imo doing these things help you avoid investigation, even if it's part of the company's policy.
Good Luck 🍸

To the guy who just tried to lift from my cv$, here’s what you did wrong
A poor young man trying to do a walk out at my store got caught minutes after walking in. He was sused out by my supervisor who had been following him, tried to walk out. My coworker who was hanging by the front was like “hey man, you ready to check out? Where you going”. The guy was like “uuuuhhhhh I forgot my card”, left his bag full of stuff by the self check put and practically ran out lmao. So here’s how we knew almost immediately what he was up to and how we spotted him.
He was nervous: The poor guy walked in, eyes darting. He was friendly enough, but my supervisor said he was acting weird whenever he would walk past him. Just try to act natural. I know everyone says to be nice, and you should be, but don’t be weird about it lmao. I’ve had people walk in, I say hello, they give me a weird look and walk past me, then turn around with a smile and say hello and ask me how I am. Big red flag.
He took way to long: my supervisor said he was pacing the aiels and trying to avoid him. Avoid SA’s naturally, don’t make it obvious you’re watching us as much as we’re watching you. Don’t hang around to long in one spot, it’s sure to get you noticed.
He had the wrong bag and outfit: he had an unstructured cloth bag and a hat, backpack and sweat pants. I’m not saying you can’t wear sweat pants, just looking more put together will make you more forgettable. The backpack is automatucally sus. He would put his stuff in the cloth bag, acting like it was just his vessel for carrying and not concealing. Like bruh, we can see all the shit you have in there. I’ve never not been sus of some just putting things in their bag.
Tried to manipulate the self check out when my coworker was watching. The way my store is, the cashier stands by the self check out to watch everyone. They only go behind the counter to take someone who has cash. So the sap goes up to the self check out, puts his stuffed bag on the side, and scans one things. Now this could potentially work, but my coworker was fixed on him from all the previous stuff, so he was right behind him a couple feet away the whole time. I guess the guy was to nervous to turn around or something, or genuinely didn’t know my coworker was there, but he PRETENDED to swipe a debit card and started to walk away. My supervisor was on him so fast lmao when he tried to walk out after that lol. They were like “um excuse me :)”
He ran out: so at that point there was no redeeming himself. But the fact that he RAN, not even a quick walk, just really cemented the whole thing. That being said, if you gotta run, run.
All in all, the guy didn’t stand a chance. He should have scoped out the store a couple times to see when it wouldn’t have a bunch of us watching, and used a structured bag if he wanted to conceal with it, and waited til we were busy to walk out. Oh, and lost the hat and backpack.
I’m no expert lifter or anything, but I know how to spot em. Hopefully we can all learn from this poor, nervous young man and stay cool and collected. Stay safe out there 🤞
ppl can dress nice, learn all the methods, and be experts in concealing, but if u don’t know how to act right it’s all over for u😰
🧬 Investigations explained 📭
If a company says it’s “doing an investigation,” this is what they mean.
An investigation is just when a company files a report with the courier that someone claimed the package was never delivered/empty/whatever
The courier will respond “yes, we did deliver the package, here’s our proof”
Proof can include a photo, weight, tracking, signature, etc. Every piece of info they have on the package they will send to the company as proof it was delivered on their end. (all investigations will come back failed)
However, it is completely up to the company whether or not they want to use this info to withhold a refund.
Companies with good policies will refund you. They know you are likely lying. BUT since the investigation doesn’t 100% prove that it wasn’t mishandled or stolen by the courier, there is possibility for refund.
The courier will take note every time an investigation is filed and it will count as a tally against your address and may lead to being blacklisted by them.
Investigations aren’t the worst thing in the world, but try not to trigger too many in a short period. Keep track of which couriers are coming to your house

I keep seeing fake asf doxxing posts ‘owning’ anon antis, so I just wanted to clear up how to actually be safe on here
this post that has over 1k notes has the made up parts underlined:
an IP is just an address that identifies your connection to the internet, literally every website you go on can view your IP
information an IP can give: approximate location within 30 miles, isp
information an IP can NOT give: name, age, accurate address, browser, device, what you’re doing (the “you currently have my page open” is the most obvious part)
if you have someone’s ip, you don’t have shit. you don’t need to be scared of someone having your ip unless you’re oversharing (doxxing yourself), in which case someone could hypothetically collect info on you
don’t believe anyone who says they have an exact address or name from an IP. only the police with a warrant can obtain that or a hacker. however, there is a 0% chance you will get hacked with modern security nets unless you have malware
people cannot get your IP from tumblr unless they get you to open a link to a website they control or work for tumblr
hypothetically an anti could obtain your ip, report it to the police and they could investigate, but they likely won’t
exif data gives a much more precise location which you should absolutely be hiding
so if you’re deleting your exif, not oversharing, and not opening any links, you don’t need a vpn since IPs give almost no information. if you feel more comfortable using a vpn, keep using it, it doesn’t hurt
freddy, you were supposed to be on lockdown!
vanessa, i was lifting 🙄🙄
Might lift today while I'm out with my grandma
Unlike my mom, my grandma isn't always on my ass most of the time
If it's a small store or we're looking at different things she'll usually just tell me where she's going and let me run off. The bag I want to use is pretty nice and big, gotta make it work with an outfit
Orrrrrr
I just use my even bigger purple on and dress like I normally do because I always do that. I want to lift a few things, maybe some books, but idk
Omg I’m not the only one who gets hunted down by their mom while trying to lift 💀

things to |!ft to donate to homeless shelters
i volunteered at a shelter for quite a while before covid so if you’re looking to give back to your community this is a list of things homeless shelters and homeless people are in need of. please add to this post if you have more ideas!
any travel size hygiene products
this means deodorant, shampoo, body wash, toothpaste (and toothbrush), mouthwash, hand sanitizer, baby wipes, lotion, chapstick, things like that.
shelters will be more in need of the shampoo and body wash. the shelter i volunteered at had private individual showers and gave each person their own thing of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash like you see in hotels. they even suggested that you take those and donate them if you stay at a hotel.
TAMPONS AND PADS
i can’t empathize this enough. homeless people who menstruate and are in shelters need these so badly and people rarely think to donate them.
clothing
sure, this is assumed, but what type of clothing exactly? first, SOCKS! number 1 most needed clothing item homeless people say they need. clean, warm socks. after socks things like underwear and hats and gloves are most sought after. especially with a lot of places in the northern hemisphere getting colder now. if you can, sturdy shoes and bras.
larger/bulky items
backpacks or suitcases, blankets, tents, some outdoorsman stores have compact camping mats or mattresses that fold up really small. solar powered camping lamps, flashlights
food
with food you need to think,
will it stay good for a long time?
can it be eaten without outside tools?
does it look like it won’t taste bad?
if the answer is yes to these questions snatch it.
things like canned goods with the pull tabs are great, check for protein bars, raisins, pretzels, jerky, nuts, hell even candy don’t just go for necessities. when possible go for water too.
miscellaneous
these are probably what a capitalist would call “luxury items” or “comfort items.”
hand warmers, books, lighters, nice reusable bottles (easy to clean without a dishwasher though), a reusable utensils set, a box of plastic sandwich bags, hair ties, makeup, watches, reusable masks
it’s rough for a lot of people right now. i know some of y’all have incredible talent in this community. personally i’m going to use this list to practice praxis and be a little bit of a local robin hood next time i’m out. lmk if you use this!
I was homeless in 2018 and something you don't really think about donating but is very sought after is pillows. I saw a lot of people in my section lose their pillows if they had more than 1. They even tried to take mine that I brought with me to give out to new people in the shelter.
People would be kicked out for the night for whatever reason or lose their spot in the shared room and have to go sleep under the bridge nearby. They didn't get to keep their bedding.
So please if you can donate pillows
getting cold out in a lot of places!! keep this circulating❤️
