I'm not edge, but I have a eternal respect for bands with the *xBANDx* name formatting. Even regardless of that bias, I believe that xFilesx is still that band. First off, this was supposed to be a joke band, fucking bullshit. You don't get much better than this, no phony metal breakdowns, no songs longer than 2 minutes, no twinkly twankly interludes, just straight fast as fuck, hateful hardcore. Some will argue that they're lean more onto the powerviolence side, and while I can see that, I don't agree with it. They definitely use a lot more blast beats than most hardcore, and they do have the Weekend Nachos type "breakdowns" but TRUE hardcore is nothing but speed and aggression on a sonic level, and to deny xFilesx their deserved label of goated hardcore band, would be a insane disservice. Excruciation is their only release out on streaming but it doesn't nothing if not serve this band justice. 22 songs, only 15 minutes. All of the songs on the album are enough to justify searching for their other releases, the main one I say to look to is definitely the Beaten Straight EP, shoutout "Please Break Up Before You Embarrass Us All" many such cases.

This band is fucking nuts, probably some of the heaviest and emotional music coming out of early 2000s hardcore. There's not too much online about the band but there's enough to understand the hype. I don't think I can stress enough how heavy this band can get, the sound quality on a lot of their release don't do the band justice sonically, but based off of aura alone, I will die on the hill of this band being the real deal. Their split with Evergreen Terrance is probably the best example of their spirit in my opinion, my favorite off of that album being "Four Door Killer" or "Can Adam See Your Boobies?" (lmao) but their earlier demos are nothing to scoff at either. Especially for the time they were active, you see exactly where each and every modern metalcore band rips from. As they should, take notes.
