DESIGN NOTES : - Camel face - Cheetah tear markings to prevent sunglare - Brightly coloured dewlap : For display - Bright patch of neck scales : Also for display - Heat seeking face-pits to navigate during the night - Kangaroo toe-claws : For combat - Tails can be barbed or rattled - Serrated back plating, mimicking scorpion armour - Hidden markings that glow under UV light : Like scorpions - Small ears to prevent sand getting stuck inside - Long lashes so sand doesn't get in eyes - Whiskers to help feel where they're going - Colours range from warm tones to blues, blacks, and sometimes greens - second clear eyelid to also prevent sand from getting in their eyes - Walk on their toes to prevent burning their feet SPECIES NOTES : - Strictly nocturnal, typically buried in sand during the day - Ambush predators, fast-striking & quick-acting venom - Primarily scavengers, feed off carrion & bones - Spit acts as "venom", can cause severe bacterial infection if inside wounds - Thin, long wings like that of vultures, built for gliding rather than proper flight - Second-worst eyesight out of any tribe, nightwings have the worst - Best hearing of all tribes - Communicate through chirps, rattling, hisses, and body-language - Can go months without water or food - Built for walking & gliding long distances - A sandwings health is determined by tail thickness ( Fat tail = incredibly healthy | average tail = healthy | thin tail = unhealthy) ABILITY NOTES : - Barb venom is strictly neurotoxic : Lethal and non-lethal - Fire is the third hottest of all tribes - Scales radiate heat, ranging from a gentle warmth to something resembling firescales - Saliva can cause intense bacterial infection if gotten in open wounds or into someones bloodstream - Heavily heat resistant, immune to minimal fire damage - Tough scales allow for small amounts of rainwing acid resistance
