Huxton GMO Cookies half gram pre-roll pack with matches - $20
GMO Cookies is GSC (Girl Scout Cookies) x Chemdawg - Indica, or Indica dominant hybrid.
I saw this product around other dispensaries in the area and the prices were affordable. I was skeptical because more affordable cannabis can be a crapshoot, it could have less flavor, maybe a little more harsh, who know. Not always, but sometimes. Some of my favorite grows are incredibly affordable, but I digress.
GMO is my unparalleled favorite strain but in the same way that two bean burritos from different spots are different, different grows can end up having entirely different experiences. Add to that pre-rolls are often just shake shoved into papers. Yum yum. However, Huxton boasts full and real flower in their rolls, so hell yeah, let’s go.
Right off the top, I noticed they were rolled well. They went all the way to the filter and were not floppy and understuffed. I opted to use the matches that came with the pack, because why not?! That’s kinda fun. So maybe this is weird but they were the best matches I’ve ever struck. I barely scraped it across the box and it popped to life. When I lit the roll that was it. It burned even and stayed lit. No canoe here.
The smoke was surprisingly light, and sweeter than I expected GMO typically gives me that sweet and gassy flavor. I got to about the last little quarter but my lungs started to tap out on me (I have hella tolerance but little baby trick-or-treat lungs) so I had to call it, and save it for later.
(p.s. I smoked the refry the next day and it was still solid.)
I was surprised and impressed with how quickly the high settled in. Gave me a little more energy than I was expecting and was clear headed much like other GMO strains I’ve had but as it tapered it kind of just wore off. It didn’t give me that ease down into a happy relaxed state. It was kind of a let down but since it was only 7 PM by the time it wore off I figured it wasn’t bad that I wasn’t couchlocked and ready for bed. It also made hockey even more interesting to watch.
So overall a decent preroll, save for a little harshness and a less than comprehensive experience. I probably wouldn’t buy it again in lieu of my preferred GMO grows which hit better and smokes smoother. I’d say if you’re in the market for an affordable smoke with a little fun novelty, it’s worth $20.
Check it out!
